Fantastic Hotel. This is in the top 5 hotels anywhere.Gives Oberoi in India a run for their money. Do yourself a favor don't stay anywhere else. Service makes a hotel and these people are incredible. Skip the four seasons in Chiang Mai and stay here. Special recognition goes out to our wonderful Butler "Top". Thank you.

This is nearly the best hotel I have ever visited anywhere in the world. It was a big splurge, but we had only one day in Chang Mai, and wanted to have a special experience, and we did! They upgraded us to a suite, which I would call an apartment of nearly 1000 sq.ft (100 square meters) including walk in closets, two bathrooms, large living room and patio, and foyer. The grounds were spectacular, and private, only guests could wander around, and golf carts were provided when you wanted to go ... Read more

We were upgraded to our own villa because it was not very busy. It was awesome to be in such a private place with lots of room and unlike the feeling of being in a hotel. You can walk to your villa but because it was quite far we always got a ride from a staff member in a golf cart. Surroundings were elegant and serene beauty was everywhere. Many restaurants are on the grounds and since it rained while we were there we did not want to adventure out so we ate in the Thai restaurant and the Chi... Read more

We stayed at villa room , it's huge and quiet .. The service is excellent but it's kinda of too quiet for me .. You see the transitional decoration at the room but it made me feel uncomfortable . However , this is a nice hotel .. People is nice also ... I tired their spa and Thai food , it's not as good as I expected but I still like it . Enjoyed their dancing during the Thai food dinner also .

I am writing this review with much reluctance because this would mark the end of a dreamlike vacation. The 5D4N sped past but not without leaving the trails of awe, opulence (in a nice way) and exemplary service. I wanted to kickstart my 6 week sabbatical leave with a choice wellness retreat and ended up at Dhara Dhevi CM, amidst a sea of choices. I was initially hesitant about its premium pricing but as I was traveling solo after a long hiatus, I eventually decided I deserved some good pamper... Read more

I live in Chiang Mai and this was my first visit to the Dhara Devi, a truly wonderful oasis of Thai Lana style dining. We chose the French cuisine and I went for the set menu - see photos - the food and the service were wonderful. The resident pianist playing was just superb and I wish other restaurants had these instead of the mellow tunes pumped out through speakers that we normally experience.

We we're lucky enough to stay three nights here and wow... I can only echo all the other five star reviews of The Dhara Dhevi here. The hotel is in a stunning setting, the rooms are fantastic - we stayed in Villa 12 and it was huge, the staff are fabulous, and the service quite simply exemplary. Fa-bu-lous!!!! Bottom line: quite possibly the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.

I arrived in Chiang Mai and had made arrangements to be picked up by Dhara Devi staff. Among all the plain paper signs, there was my name in a fancy silver-colored frame. I was taken to my black Mercedes with tinted windows and whisked away. When we arrived at the property, we drove up a hill to get to the lobby and there it was! I felt like a movie star, being brought to this grand and beautiful place. The car door opened, all my bags were taken, I was seated on a couch and a cold drink an... Read more

I stayed and Dhara Dhevi for 2 nights and the experience was mind blowing. The architecture is just stunning! The outside areas are just beautiful! I would recommend this as a site to see when in Chiang Mai. It is great how they have kept close to the local traditions too. For example, you can participate in the hymns to the monks. They also have craft workshops from locals. The food at the breakfast was so good! There is loads of variety! They also provide you with local options. The staff is r... Read more

If you would like to learn how to make macaroon, they have a course to learn with their French chef. Or if you just want to chill with cozy and nice place with afternoon tea, also can do. Their Bakeries are nice and also quite Expensive as well (compare to food in Chiangmai. Nice atmosphere for taking pictures in front the hotel but you cannot go in to the hotel, they keep privacy for their guests

I impressed with all single details of this resort, from design perspective, history & story behind. The team members are well trained. You can not compare this hotel to others. Its has own beauty. I love Lanna Heritage. The hotel brought you back to old time of Siam/Thailand. You can experience, learn how to grow rice, you can work at rice farm. The resort is big, lots of venues that you can enjoy your time, and facilities during your stay. It fits for couple visit, lots of romance ie great d... Read more

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in Thailand. We had a wonderful time. The facilities are awesome. Highly recommend the Thai restaurant. The Pad Tai is the best. Also the breakfast buffet is very good. We stayed at one of the suites right in front of the pool. Super spacious and comfortable. To move around the enormous grounds you can either walk or ask for a golf cart. Overall, excellent hotel!!

Prior to arrival the concierge assisted with the arrangement of a custom two day tour of the area. The tour guide and driver during these days were a wealth of kn... Read more

This is certainly a unique and interesting hotel. The grounds and buildings are like works of art and the place has a very unique feel to it. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with nice amenities. The pool is spectacular and inviting. However, If you like to be in the center of action, this would not be my top recommendation for a stay in Chaing Mai. The hotel is about 10-15 min from the center part of Chiang Mai. Because of that, we constantly had to drive into town which I found annoying... Read more

I have lived in Chiang Mai for nearly 3 years and I never knew about this restaurant until I was recently invited to go there for lunch with a close friend and his wife. I was told that this is the most lavish and also most expensive restaurant/hotel in Chiang Mai. After seeing this establishment first hand, I now understand why. It is like a Thai palace with many towers and fine special rooms. Fit for a king! The luncheon is a buffet style with an overwhelming assortment of fine foods a... Read more

So my family of 5 stayed in a villa with a pool and we absolutely loved it. Not only was it spacious, but the layout was ideal for our family. Let me review some of the things that were great and not so great about this hotel. Rooms - I can't speak on the colonial wing as we didn't stay there, but the villas were absolutely gorgeous and the layout (our villa was #8) had two living rooms, two bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a great area for lounging outside including the divine pool. I have long wanted to visit Chiang Mai and stay at the Dhara Devi and finally the chance to do so last week. From the moment we entered the resort to when we left, a mere 3 days later, we were blown away with everything we experienced. The 60 acre property which looks like a heritage site, but in fact was built only 12 years ago, is truly something special. The care that has gone into the architecture, maintenance of the grounds and attention to every little detail is amazing. We stayed at the ... Read more

I was familiar with the hotel but my family was not so I could not wait just to drive in and watch the amazement on my families face. The villas and the grounds are truly spectacular as others have stated and we loved our 5 night stay. Butler was great but front desk staff could have been better on anything related to activities outside of the hotel (it felt that they really wanted you to spend all you money there and were not that interested in helping with tips on restaurants and activities around Chiang Mai).

Extraordinary...mind blowing. Build only 13 years ago, this property is outstanding. Outside of the city of Chaing Mai (a 20 minute drive), it is like living in another world. We had a 2 story magnificent villa that even had a jacuzzi. 3 terraces, and an outside swing. Buggies take you around the property. There are several different types of lovely restaurants, and room service is available. Breakfast offerings are most extensive, and the staff at all times is most accommodating and pleasant. T... Probably one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. While the property is only 12 years old, it's built like a centuries old Thai village. The grounds are sprawling and the rooms marvelously luxurious. The grounds are really something and worth exploring for all the special little touches like windmills, water wheels, etc. Everything is spaced ... Read more
