I loved staying at Thapae Boutique House. The location was perfect and is a short walk to both the Night Market and Thapae Gate. Or if you don't want to walk, it's right down the road from a main street which is lined with songthaews. The staff was really nice as was the lady who cleaned our room. She gave us water everyday even when we didn't ask for our room to be cleaned. The internet was spotty but that's ok because basically every coffee shop has wifi. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a clean, cute hotel with helpful staff and in a good location. You're within walking distance of the night market and the wats and restaurants in the main part of town. The mattresses are pretty hard, but the air conditioning is good and the showers are hot. The staff was helpful when our air conditioning controller went out, and they were prompt with our laundry and helping us call taxis. Other reviews mentioned airport pickup; that wasn't available when we stayed, and is not free. ... Read more

The location is within easy walking distance of Thapae Gate, and the common courtyard/breakfast area are quaint and comfortable. There were a couple of friendly cats on the premises who seemed to enjoy the attention from guests. The room appointments are rustic and charming, but the bed was hard and I could feel the springs when laying down. The air in he room was a bit damp, but the AC was functioning and powerful. The bathroom is basic, with much of the wall comprised of unfinished concrete. T... Read more

This hostel/hotel has charm and is perfectly located just on the edge of the old city and within walking distance to the night bazaar. It's close enough to that neighborhood to be easily accessible by a short walk but far enough that you're not bothered by noises from the street at night. The room was clean and professional looking and met all expectations. Breakfast was top notch as well. It was a little hard to find the place and I don't think that taxis (red cars) can make it down the alleywa... Read more

Good: - Location was convenient. Close to the Old City to explore all the restaurants, temples and both the Saturday and Sunday markets within a 10-15 minute walk. - Shower had hot and cold water. - Front staff were friendly. Bad: - Even after booking online and paying the deposit through PayPal, they couldn't find my email despite charging me twice. Luckily, they had an extra room. - Bed was rock hard. - Bath towels and bedsheets were old and stained. - The walls are thin so you can hear ever... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to recommendations of things to do around the city . The room itself is great! We stayed in the junior suite where we had a queen size bed and a twin, along with a vanity, couch area with TV, fridge, and huge bathroom. Reasonably priced and amazing location! Highly recommended. Oh and there is an adorable kitten that the owners have that rolls around being cute all the time ???

It was am ideal location. Walked to the old city easily. The staff helped with suggestions and activities. Transport to wherever we needed was just outside the door. Clean rooms. Breakfast not included, but so many restaurants it did not matter.

The staff made it for us, from our pick up at the airport in a cool aircnditioned car with a lovely female driver who worked for the hotel. Her English was very good and she used to be a tour guide so she had lots of tips and advice for us. Upon arrival we were shown to our lovely large room (family suite) with a huge shower including a bath. The hotel had good wifi in all areas too. Breakfast was basic but good (watermelon, ham, toast and eggs cooked the way you like it, choice of tea or coffee... Read more

This boutique house has it all! It is designed for the true Thai experience with beautiful wood floors. I could see a temple from my window. It is walking distance from the Thapae Gate, Night bazaar, dentist, Thai massage, drug store, shops, great restaurants ( Angel's Secret and Cooking Love ) and a bicycle for 50 bahts or scooter for 250 bahts a day for places out of walking distance. I travelled here alone... but never felt alone. Katie and the other front desk staff found out what I wanted an... Read more

We chanced upon this boutique hotel when we arrived in Chiang Mai in the late evening from Pai. We needed some place to stay and we somehow found this hotel after a few searches. It turned to be way better than we expected. Friendly staff and superb front office customer service. Love the old/vintage furniture sets in the room and interesting wooden bathroom door; one which is so different from the mainstream hotel's layout.
