I can only reiterate the substance of most of the recent comments. After the Entrance Lobby the hotel is seriously tired and grimy. Perhaps the renovation has slowly begun as some of the lifts have been replaced with attractive new ones. But a very thorough refurbishment is required and will require huge investment given the dimensions of the place. In the meantime a deep clean is urgently called for. I would have given a lower rating but got my room at such a low price that that would be chu... Read more

As always I read the reviews,& thought it can't be as bad as people we're writing.... I found the front foyer, grand and impressive, although carpets up the main staircase, urgently need replacing. But once I was passed the main entrance, the real hotel took shape,& the bigger picture became apparent...... The room I was in,was very dated, which resembled a hotel from the 1980's... From the dated furniture,to the cigarette burns in the carpet..... Although the linen/towels was changed daily,& the roo... Read more

On entering you will find a grand reception, rooms are old, dated, slightly smelly. Pool area is fine, spacious and reasonably clean. Staff are friendly enough. Pool bar........ 60 baht for a bottle of water, 8 baht in the shop next door, taking the pi$$ a bit there. Restaurant bar........ double vodka 360 baht (without mixer), again taking the pi$$. Overall, this is a great hotel if you've just escaped from East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall ! If this hotel was 15 quid a ni... Read more

Not very friendly service. The whole hotel, including the rooms stink of smoke. There is no sound proofing either so you can hear everything from the hallways and other rooms. Already a steep price and you aren't getting anywhere near your money's worth.

I read that the General Manager mentioned they are planning renovations in one of the comments made to guests on this website, well, when exactly? The place is in serious need of urgent repair and renovations, not only inside but outside. The windows , balcony and outdoor area is infested with pigeons and their poo. Disgusting. We booked the Deluxe room, but it was old, smelly and broken down. It's not right to charge people for a deluxe room which is basically an old dump. The location isn'... Read more

Disgusting room very old, dirty, mouldy, smelly and nothing like the photos they show you! Don't let the fancy reception deceive you. We asked for a refund after 5 mins but they offered us to change room which was slightly better

We only stayed there for one night. The hotel is run-down and the carpet in our floor was worn out and smelled really, really bad. In the morning telephones rang all the time and there were other loud noises from inside and outside, which made it really difficult to sleep (although I'm not a light sleeper in general). We paid 20 Bhat per person for one night, which in coparison to other thai hotels and guesthouses we stayed in, wasn't worth its price at all. However the service at the reception ... Read more

Stayed after Christmas. The foyer is smart and there is a lovely roof bar with amazing views of the city. However the room was dirty and dingy with a really horrible smell of damp, B.O. and old furnishings. We asked to move but were told there were no rooms free so we ended up keeping the air conditioning on constantly and buying an air freshener. The windows were filthy with pigeon mess piled outside the window with a long dead pigeon buried in it. On the first morning we watched about 20 pige... Read more

Upon entering the foyer and using the new lifts I thought what a nice hotel. But once the lifts opened up on the 5th floor it was like I was in another building, dirty dark corridors, the rooms (changed twice was in 3 different rooms) where do I start , they were old and worn out, cigarette burns in the dirty old carpet, the bathrooms were filthy , tiles had mould all over them , the plastic shower screen curtain, looked like it has never been cleaned , was dirty ,greasy and mouldy . Water pres... Read more

When you enter this hotel, you will be impressed. You can tell when it was built it was a grand hotel.. but ask to see the rooms first, because they are dirty, very very dated and smell moldy. There was black mold all over the bathroom, yuck. We came over new years , so our options to move were limited or we would have. The front desk speaks almost zero english, so we had trouble expressing our issues. You can tell that this hotel was probably amazing when It was built, Im guessing mid 70's but... Read more
