Nothing spectacular. I would like to say you get what you pay for but there are cheaper hotels in Chiang Msi with the same services. Major cons: terrible Wi-Fi, the air con takes at least an hour to cook the room. Pros: good location, decent bathroom.

We (me & my wife) visited Chiang Mai for the first time and stayed at the Maninarakorn's older section. The older section across the alley which I would only rate 5-star The staff are helpful and cooperative. The rooms are big and well maintained. In our room, we got one bedroom with AC+ A big living room with AC. In the living room you will get Oven, Fridge, Kettle etc. You can enjoy TV or DVD from two big sofa in the living room. However, you will need to specify which section of the hotel yo... Read more

We stayed in the old section. The rooms are actually spacious 1-bedroom apartments, with lounge area with sofas, microwave, fridge and TV. The "apartment" has two air-conditioning units, one in the lounge and the other in the bedroom. The bathroom is a little dated and could do with some attention. All round very clean. Staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast (american breakfast) is ok, with some variety and suitable for international tourists. The hotel is well-located within wal... Read more

Very well priced, with most things you could want or need. I first stayed here a few years ago and remember funky unrenovated, huge rooms - not sure if they're still available. The current ones are more modern, efficient, but don't have so much character.

The Maninarakorn Hotel is a bit hidden off the main road. Fortunately the hotel sign is fairly prominent. It sits about a 10 minute walk from the Night Bazaar. Generally staff is okay. They speak limited English, provide basic services but are not especially friendly. The best thing is that the rooms are fairly mosquito free, although its hard to keep the mossies out. The rooms are clean and the maids do a good job.

We booked to stay at Maninarakorn for a week because it was an apartment style room and that's what we were after but honestly it was not worth it. There was no hall way lights, as in no bulbs in the light fittings. One night it rained and water came pouring down the wall (and the electrical sockets) and started flooding the living room floor, we then noticed the floor boards and skirting were completely rotten from this happening every time it rained. The sofa had big springs sticking out of it... Read more

This hotel is close to the Old city, and also close to the night market (<10 minute walk from both of these). There is a 7/11 located just outside, and a coffee shop on the corner, as well as a few bike rentals on the main road so it is easy to get around. The room was a great size for how much we paid (£20 a night for a HUGE 1 bedroom suite with separate living area). It was like having my own apartment! We stayed in the side buildings, not in the main hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy, but the... Read more

Well located, near the night market and only 15 min by walk from the old city. Rooms are clean and calm (on the main building). Breakfast is good (various meals every day). At the swimming pool, the pool chairs are old and disrepair. I've been charged for a broken glass on the room, bad surprised when we check out. Not for the price, just because it can happen, and hotels shouldn't charge for that...

I thought this hotel was very nice inside. It was one of the better hotels we had stayed in during our time in Thailand. The staff were very helpful. The pool was pretty small but was a decent pool. The hotel itself is located in a decent area to get to bars, places to eat and the night markets.

It is a quiet place. Near the city night market and airport. During our stay there is a black out in the area in few hours... Service are excellent. Laundry Room service change our bedding everyday... The most and awesome are the staffs who clean our room everyday are VERY HONEST... You know why? My wife forget to lock her luggage where our passports, cash dollar money, bhat and peso were inside. Thanks God everything was still in order. Salute to your honest employee...

I stayed here on two occasions during my time in northern Thailand both times I found the service to be professional if lacking in English skills. The first time, I stayed by myself in the secondary building. I was surprised to find a single person spa bath in the room. On my second visit I stayed in a twin bed in the main building both times I found the breakfast to be good and the wifi to be useless. The only place where the wifi functioned was the lobby.

I booked this hotel via Agoda and while the lobby looked quite snazzy the hotel itself is a lot more complex than what meets the eye. The building has secondary complex next to the main which does not have a lift. We were given a room on the top floor (4 floors) which was quite a walk. Wifi was particularly weak and could only be detected from the living room area of the room. The hotel itself serves its purpose so can't complain there. If they provide a lift and stronger Internet, this would d... Read more

On arrival we found out that our room didn't have a lift. They said it will be on the fourth floor if we wanted to change we could only have a small room. For a group of 3 we decided to take the larger room. Little did we know that it might not have been the best. We arrived early evening to a room that took about an hour to cool down. It was warm as an oven. Not something you want to get back to when you have climbed four flights of stairs. Being on the fourth floor meant that the Internet w... Read more

I am staying at 3rd floor of the old building which do not have lift. This is ok for me as I only have one hand carry luggage. The suite is huge, with one bedroom and a lounge, and bathroom. The decor is a bit old and the furniture is a bit outdated, but overall it is clean and comfortable, A/C works well. The room comes with a lot of complementary snacks, including a coke, a juice, 2 cup noodle, 2 pack peanut, 2 bottle of water and coffee/tea. The location is quite good, it is 5-10 minute walk ... If wifi is no concern to you then this hotel is brilliant. You get coupon for a free drink (not alcoholic) at the reception lounge for each day of your stay. The reception area is very grand, lots of seating and open plan design. Stay are very friendly. The rooms are very spacious. The shower went hot and cold, but nothing we hadn't experienced in Thailand. You were also given a basket of free snacks and drinks daily in the room. However the wifi was terrible and was not reliable. If you are no... Read more

We are staying here for 2 nights (with tonight being our second). The room is clean but a bit outdated. The staff have been helpful and nice but nothing extraordinary. The room comes with air conditioning but seems to kick on and off and I find it very stuffy. There is a small fridge here and they do provide you with water bottles daily at no charge. You get a free non alcoholic drink when you arrive and the wifi is free too. My son was using the wifi and said it was spotty and not strong enough... Read more

We stayed here 4 years ago, don't think we would stay again. Rooms look tired and need a freshen up. Customer service at reception is pretty ordinary. I emailed for, pricing a day before booking on Agoda, I am still waiting for a reply. Reception staff just don't look happy, especially if you ask a question. Checkin was almost like pulling teeth, we weren't given wifi password, went down later after the one on the wall the bellboy pointed out to us didn't work. Was looked at as if I had as... Read more

The best thing about this hotel, in my opinion, is the location. Conveniently situated between The Old City and The Night Bazaar, both are in walking distance. There's a 7/11 (corner shop/convenience store) and an ATM right outside, as well as several restaurants and a Starbucks-type cafe. There is very little to no street noise at night, and in the daytime the road cannnot be heard from the rooms. I stayed here for a week while I was climbing at Crazy Horse Buttress. Coming home to my apartment in the anex building felt so luxurious and I was grateful for booking such a comfortable hotel. Little touches like free snacks and soft drinks, tissues and bathroom items were a superb addition. I had a fridge, kettle and microwave but the food in Chiang Mai is so good that I didn't use them nearly as much as I had imaged. We stayed here for four nights (granted after staying in a rather nice hotel in Phuket!) while visiting the city. It it did the job for what we were after. The rooms are quite small, they seem to have a seated area behind the bed, which if I'm honest is a bit of a waste of space! But it was clean, and comfortable, which is all you can ask for! It could do with a little updating. It's not luxury but then we didn't spend much time in the hotel anyway!

We paid about 900 baht per night, that price did not include breakfast. The room was very big which was nice, but the wifi didn't really work at all. It was located in a good part of town, but personally I do not think the room was worth 900 baht a night. The room we stayed in was in a different building which didn't have an elevator, which was fine for us, but maybe not for others.

The hotel has a good location and is about 10 minutes from night markets. Room was big but was separate from main part off hotel and only stairs to access it. No wifi at all in the room and barely worked down at reception. Room cleaned and changed on a daily basis. Air con didn't work that well so was hard to sleep at night. Overall wouldn't recommend due to no wifi and poor air con.

Breakfast was not included in our room rate but for 10 AUD each it was good value. Nice reception and bar area. Gym and pool good. Room came with freebies, nuts, noodles, coke, water, fruit juice and coffee voucher for bar. It was a short walk to the old city or night market. This is a hotel in 3 parts, a new central tower, all flash and modern plus 2 annex wings which are older. we stayed in the C block, called 'Supreme'. The room was like a small apartment; in the lounge area was a TV, microwave, fridge armchairs etc. A large bathroom then bedroom with comfortable bed. No wifi, available in Lobby.
