Though we visited in the late afternoon we found the reservoir on the university campus a peaceful and relaxing place. The university also offers a guided tour of their campus via electric transportation. For those that are scholarly inclined, feel free to mingle with the students at the many places to eat outside the campus gates. Enjoy!

Right in the centre of the city, with the night market on your doorstep on Sunday night. A quirky and comfortable hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. The rooms are comfortable and clean and we had a lovely balcony at the back. Breakfast was very comprehensive but didn't eat other meals there. The upstairs bar was not much used as it appeared rather expensive. We actually frequented the Writers Club directly across the road. The pool was small but adequate and not usually very busy. We had a beautiful room, lovely staff and very responsive. Only down point is a late breakfast in the restaurant after 10 am - but don't let that put you off! Walking distance from a good number of Temples - our boat trip was the highlight.

We were not in the room much in Chiang Mai, but were comfortable when we were. The hotel is right in the middle of the old city and was great for the Sunday Night Market. The front desk was extremely nice and we had a great Thai massage at the spa - probably the best during our stay in Thailand. Bed was comfortable, pool was small but nice, rooms were large. A couple negatives during our stay - Shower size is very small which was slightly uncomfortable, our towels had some stains on them, lights... Read more

Recently had the pleasure of staying at this small hotel whilst in Chiang Mai for 3 nights. Absolutely perfect in every way and was staying there with my husband and 4 friends, my daughter and her boyfriend. We all loved it and for me it was my favourite hotel we had stayed at whilst visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mia, Koh Samui and Singapore. They very kindly upgraded my room, I think because I was the lead guest and had also booked my daughter to stay there with her boyfriend. The rooms were lov... Read more

Located in the heart of the old city with all the major sites in close proximity. Rooms good size, clean and tidy and good selection for breakfast including a made to order menu (highly recommend the Chiang Mai sausage). Staff very attentive with no specified check out time you can maximise the relaxation time at the hotel. Nice pool area. Did have a drink in the bar as quite pricey and plenty of options in town. The hotel lies on the street of the Sunday market which is a great atmosphere and... Read more

This hotel is beautiful, and the service was out of this world. The woman at the front desk was always extremely friendly and gave us great recommendations on elephant sanctuaries and other things to do. The details are really what raised this hotel above the rest. Upon arrival, we got to choose which type of soap we wanted in our room. The friendliness of staff when providing help (for example, when I needed a spoon so I could eat a passionfruit in my room) was impressive. Added touches, like ... Read more

This hotel is an oasis of tranquility right in the middle of the lively old town. From the first moment when you step inside the reception area, you don't hear the noise of the street outside. You are welcomed warmly by the various reception personnel and informed about the hotel, even choose your favourite soap. Breakfast in their restaurant is all day. There is a nice swimming pool in the middle of the three hotel buildings with deck chairs and nice drinks and food to be ordered. The rooms are... Read more

A quaint, small Hotel that was very comfortable, but not a lot of storage for your belongings. The location was great and the staff helpful in finding restaurants to eat at and sights to see. We ate at DK David's Kitchen and was excellent. The hotel provided a continental breakfast and was adequate to get you going in the morning. We did not eat dinner at the hotel.

We stayed here three nights in June and loved it. The staff was so accommodating, the breakfast was delicious (I heard this was the best season for fruit), and the location was walking distance to everything in old town. I would highly recommend this hotel. I read some of the other reviews and saw that people mentioned it could use some repair. I didn't notice this, but my boyfriend said he did, so it just depends on your pickiness level. I did a lot of research and I would stay there again i... Read more

Absolutely loved our stay at U-Chiang Mai. The hotel is on the same road where you have the night market so it's quick to get home and escape the crowds. The staff were very friendly and helped us with every request. We booked flight of the gibbon and a cooking class with them - both of which were fabulous experiences. My wife and I stayed at the U Chiang Mai for four nights in late May. The location of the hotel is excellent, probably the best in Chiang Mai, it is in the centre of the old city and the Saturday night market is directly outside of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at the U Chiang Mai. Lovely hotel - boutique rooms which have a Thai feel, friendly staff and great location. The U Chiang Mai is near enough smack bang in the middle of the old city walls so it is a great location for exploring all the local temples, shops and restaurants. I would recommend not eating in the hotel restaurant in an evening - although the food was lovely it was double the price of equally lovely restaurants in Chiang Mai.

The attitude of all staff members was exceptional and any requests dealt with cheerfully and efficiently, always with a smile. Very attractive décor and rooms are very comfortable. The hotel looked spectacular online, but we were a bit disappointed. On the positive side, the staff is great and very helpful, the main area/lobby is very pleasant.
