Though we visited in the late afternoon we found the reservoir on the university campus a peaceful and relaxing place. The university also offers a guided tour of their campus via electric transportation. For those that are scholarly inclined, feel free to mingle with the students at the many places to eat outside the campus gates. Enjoy!

Right in the centre of the city, with the night market on your doorstep on Sunday night. A quirky and comfortable hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. The rooms are comfortable and clean and we had a lovely balcony at the back. Breakfast was very comprehensive but didn't eat other meals there. The upstairs bar was not much used as it appeared rather expensive. We actually frequented the Writers Club directly across the road. The pool was small but adequate and not usually very busy. We had a beautiful room, lovely staff and very responsive. Only down point is a late breakfast in the restaurant after 10 am - but don't let that put you off! Walking distance from a good number of Temples - our boat trip was the highlight.

We were not in the room much in Chiang Mai, but were comfortable when we were. The hotel is right in the middle of the old city and was great for the Sunday Night Market. The front desk was extremely nice and we had a great Thai massage at the spa - probably the best during our stay in Thailand. Bed was comfortable, pool was small but nice, rooms were large. A couple negatives during our stay - Shower size is very small which was slightly uncomfortable, our towels had some stains on them, lights... Read more

Recently had the pleasure of staying at this small hotel whilst in Chiang Mai for 3 nights. Absolutely perfect in every way and was staying there with my husband and 4 friends, my daughter and her boyfriend. We all loved it and for me it was my favourite hotel we had stayed at whilst visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mia, Koh Samui and Singapore. They very kindly upgraded my room, I think because I was the lead guest and had also booked my daughter to stay there with her boyfriend. The rooms were lov... Read more

Located in the heart of the old city with all the major sites in close proximity. Rooms good size, clean and tidy and good selection for breakfast including a made to order menu (highly recommend the Chiang Mai sausage). Staff very attentive with no specified check out time you can maximise the relaxation time at the hotel. Nice pool area. Did have a drink in the bar as quite pricey and plenty of options in town. The hotel lies on the street of the Sunday market which is a great atmosphere and... Read more

This hotel is beautiful, and the service was out of this world. The woman at the front desk was always extremely friendly and gave us great recommendations on elephant sanctuaries and other things to do. The details are really what raised this hotel above the rest. Upon arrival, we got to choose which type of soap we wanted in our room. The friendliness of staff when providing help (for example, when I needed a spoon so I could eat a passionfruit in my room) was impressive. Added touches, like ... Read more

This hotel is an oasis of tranquility right in the middle of the lively old town. From the first moment when you step inside the reception area, you don't hear the noise of the street outside. You are welcomed warmly by the various reception personnel and informed about the hotel, even choose your favourite soap. Breakfast in their restaurant is all day. There is a nice swimming pool in the middle of the three hotel buildings with deck chairs and nice drinks and food to be ordered. The rooms are... Read more

A quaint, small Hotel that was very comfortable, but not a lot of storage for your belongings. The location was great and the staff helpful in finding restaurants to eat at and sights to see. We ate at DK David's Kitchen and was excellent. The hotel provided a continental breakfast and was adequate to get you going in the morning. We did not eat dinner at the hotel.

We stayed here three nights in June and loved it. The staff was so accommodating, the breakfast was delicious (I heard this was the best season for fruit), and the location was walking distance to everything in old town. I would highly recommend this hotel. I read some of the other reviews and saw that people mentioned it could use some repair. I didn't notice this, but my boyfriend said he did, so it just depends on your pickiness level. I did a lot of research and I would stay there again i... Read more

Absolutely loved our stay at U-Chiang Mai. The hotel is on the same road where you have the night market so it's quick to get home and escape the crowds. The staff were very friendly and helped us with every request. We booked flight of the gibbon and a cooking class with them - both of which were fabulous experiences. They arranged our taxis when we went to the river for dinner and also when we left for the airport. The pool area was never overcrowded, our room was big with a private balcony a... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the U Chiang Mai for four nights in late May. The location of the hotel is excellent, probably the best in Chiang Mai, it is in the centre of the old city and the Saturday night market is directly outside of the hotel. All staff are friendly and helpful and a delight to talk to. We tried the spa and this was good, although a little expensive compared to the numerous and good massage places close by. We asked for and were given a room on the ground floor, room 101. Th... Read more

It happens that we have stayed two times in the hotel. One was to celebrate my birthday in January. The other was to spend a holiday with my cousin there. Both occasions, we were in a group of 3. The hotel has a very good location. It is located at the centre of the old city. A 2- minutes walk from Wat Chedi Luang. Also, the Sunday Night market was at the front door of the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 6 in the evening. A staff met us when we got off the taxi. He was polite and... Read more

Really enjoyed our stay here even though we spent everyday at Ram Hospital due to ill daughter. Staff were very pleasant and even sent us a letter wishing our daughter well, particularly Aye and Bowling, but all staff were great. Hotel has a nice pool. Rooms are comfortable with pretty decoration. Location is perhaps the main attraction as you are right in the center of the city, walking distance to many temples and markets, yet from within the hotel area you wouldn't event realize. WIFI is good... Read more

We had a fabulous stay at U Hotel in Chiang Mai. The location couldn't be more ideal - right in the center of the Old City and walking distance to MANY Wats, great restaurants and the Sunday Walking Street Market (literally right out the front door). We were able to walk nearly everywhere we went, but the hotel also had free bikes to use for the day which is great in Chiang Mai. The staff was very friendly, and the hotel itself it quite beautiful and stylish. Our check in process was quick and e... Read more

We stayed at the U Chiang Mai for 3 nights in June and really loved it. The staff are so helpful, attending to your every need as if it is their pleasure to do so. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old city surrounded by lovely cafes and shops but hidden away so you wouldn't even know it was there and it's super quiet. It's about 15/20 mins walk from the daily night market which we enjoyed. The hotel staff helped us book a fabulous cooking course (we chose Asia Scenic) and t... Read more

This place was lovely, on arrival we were greeted with welcoming smiles and you could tell from the go that the staff wanted to make your stay enjoyable. A nice touch was getting to choose the types of scented soaps you wanted in your room. Breakfast was good, they had fresh fruit, yoghurts, jams and a choice of hot breakfasts, however they were limited. The eggs Benedict were great. Great location if you are visiting the Sunday Night Market - being in the middle of the walking street means you can shop, drop off your purchases, and head straight out again for more yummy food and shopping! Hotel staff was very helpful with check in/out, tour bookings etc. There's an on-site spa on the 2/F with 4 rooms in total. Wish the spa was bigger so that me and my friends could all go at once. Spa / massage service varies by the masseur even for the same package. Pool was smaller than e... Read more

We stayed in the hotel for four nights in July and overall we really enjoyed our stay. In particular, we loved the hotels location and the frendliness of the staff. Pros - The staff at reception were fantastic. A special thank you to Aey, who was an absolute pleasure from the moment she greeted us in the airport. - The location of the hotel is wonderful, particularly when the Sunday market is on as it runs right in front of the hotel. - The pool area is great, we had a room with pool access whi...
