Lovely hotel and very close to night bazaar. The room was spacious and clean, services was equally good. Had their daily breakfast during my stay there and good spread with a selection of both asian and western food. The poolside was a great place to spend sometime in the afternoon for a sun tan. They serve and provide ice water and fruits during the summer days.

The usual Shangrila standards preserved. Love the service as usual. Staff were helpful and friendly. Brought me drinks, sunblock and insect repellent when I was at the pool. Room looks a littler aged...pretty common in Shangrila properties. Nevertheless it's comfortable. There's a boat noodle restaurant along the same street. Walk out of the hotel turn right. It's on the right a minute away. The noodles are awesome!

I stayed here within the last week for my honeymoon. I was there for 4 nights- although at first I thought the cost of the hotel was a little on the expensive side compared to other Chiang Mai hotels, I can honestly say it was worth every penny! Great service, quick and definitely a 5 star quality hotel. I would recommend paying the extra few to get a horizon club room. You have access to the horizon lounge, with a great breakfast spread every morning and a free happy hour with drinks and a wide... Read more

This a great choice for a stay in Chiang Mai. We stayed on the Horizon Club floor and enjoyed the very friendly service provided to us in the lounge. The hotel is close to the old city and a short ride away on a red cab or tuk tuk. The hotel has a great pool that is deep unlike most hotel pools where one can barely dip their head in. Stayed in this hotel for three nights. The check in experience was very unpleasant. We requested for a quiet on higher floor when the booking is made. Hotel staff replied our email and indicated that they will arrange accordingly. However, the room we were first assigned to is located just next to the lift lobby, not to mention it is facing the busy main road. We then went back to the hotel lobby and requested for another room. They arranged another room for us, yet it is a king bed room, while ... Read more

Definitely worth upgrading to the Horizon Club floor which includes breakfast and access to the concierge floor. There you can stop for a free afternoon coffee or small snack and every evening their is free happy hour. Our only problem we had twice was a lack of hot water which they promptly fixed. We would stay there again!

We walked to the Chiang Mai night bazaar from hotel by 15 minutes. The size and depth of the swimming pool were very good with the free provision of few slices water melon and ice water. The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. The view outside the room was great. The staff were very friendly and nice. Will stay again in next round of visit.

Went for KMICe 2016 conference held on 29-30August 2016. The hotel specifically cater halal food for us, help us till late at night (the technician) to get things ready at the ballroom. Arrange for the vip room to be used for muslims participants to perform prayer. Thank you! The staffs are warm with great hospitality, and the food was superb during the conference. Thumbs up!

We found the Shangri La a wonderful base camp for our travels in Chiang Mai. One caveat: it's not centrally located, so anticipate a quick tuk tuk or cab ride, or a 20-minute walk to the Old City. Consistent with the Bangkok Shangri La, we found this hotel to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast service is especially noteworthy. After the first day, the staff and our server knew our table and beverage preferences and made us feel, quite literally, at home. A suggestion: even if... Read more

After a gap of 5 years we returned to this hotel to find that the environment, service and hospitality was even better than before. We were highly impressed by our last stay but to find so much improvement was a delight. The breakfast service in Kad Cafe was attentive, the staff knew from the first day what our wishes were and served without request. The Concierge staff were always extra polite, friendly and helpful. Of course the Club Lounge staff were their usual top service. Housekeeping was ... Read more

By far the best hotel in Thailand we have been to and the Chiangmai Mai people are the most friendly. Staff speak English well, they have a health clinic on site if you feel unwell. The food is faultless and when you walk into to the hotel and see it, it is breath taking. Hotel and hospitality that must be experienced.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 nights at the Shangri-la Chiang Mai - taxi driver said possibly one of the best hotels in the city of Chiang Mai. True enough - Shangri-la hotels have lived up to my expectations. Nice lovely rooms - however it seems the Golden Circle club privileges has some how played down a little. Good internet, nice rooms, nice view of the entire Shangri-la Chiang Mai hotel property - security is tight when entering the hotel compounds and location is right smack in the city. Again br... We stayed at this place last minute after a terrible experience driving around Chiang Mai looking for a hotel that scammed us. This was the closest place to is at the time and way out of our budget but we thought we would splurge given the current situation since it was 11:30 at night on our first day of arrival. We had booked the hotel through trip advisor and when we arrived they didn't see us in their system and said we had to wait for two hours which would put us at 1:30 am in our room. This... Read more
