Lovely hotel and very close to night bazaar. The room was spacious and clean, services was equally good. Had their daily breakfast during my stay there and good spread with a selection of both asian and western food. The poolside was a great place to spend sometime in the afternoon for a sun tan. They serve and provide ice water and fruits during the summer days.

The usual Shangrila standards preserved. Love the service as usual. Staff were helpful and friendly. Brought me drinks, sunblock and insect repellent when I was at the pool. Room looks a littler aged...pretty common in Shangrila properties. Nevertheless it's comfortable. There's a boat noodle restaurant along the same street. Walk out of the hotel turn right. It's on the right a minute away. The noodles are awesome!

I stayed here within the last week for my honeymoon. I was there for 4 nights- although at first I thought the cost of the hotel was a little on the expensive side compared to other Chiang Mai hotels, I can honestly say it was worth every penny! Great service, quick and definitely a 5 star quality hotel. I would recommend paying the extra few to get a horizon club room. You have access to the horizon lounge, with a great breakfast spread every morning and a free happy hour with drinks and a wide... Read more

Facade of hotel is nice. Approx 30mins from airport. Staff is welcoming. Welcome tea is served upon arrival and registration at front desk Room we got for twinsharing is really nice. It has a living room, office table, table lamps, ample electric sockets located at top of table. Minibar is provided. Safe box also. Nice hangers. Paper slippers provided. Nice room. Aircon control is not as user friendly but not bad. Rotating tv rack is a nice idea. Beautiful huge swimming pool. Small gym but wi... Read more

This a great choice for a stay in Chiang Mai. We stayed on the Horizon Club floor and enjoyed the very friendly service provided to us in the lounge. The hotel is close to the old city and a short ride away on a red cab or tuk tuk. The hotel has a great pool that is deep unlike most hotel pools where one can barely dip their head in. The hotel has 3 Jacuzzis one outdoor and one each in the mens and women's changing rooms. We used the outdoor jacuzzi which was hot and relaxing. Again the water te... Read more

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. The check in experience was very unpleasant. We requested for a quiet on higher floor when the booking is made. Hotel staff replied our email and indicated that they will arrange accordingly. However, the room we were first assigned to is located just next to the lift lobby, not to mention it is facing the busy main road. We then went back to the hotel lobby and requested for another room. They arranged another room for us, yet it is a king bed room, while ... Read more

Beautiful food, attentive pool staff, great snacks and drinks available. Friendly staff too. Breakfast buffet was excellent! Lots of delicious choices. Definitely worth upgrading to the Horizon Club floor which includes breakfast and access to the concierge floor. There you can stop for a free afternoon coffee or small snack and every evening their is free happy hour. Our only problem we had twice was a lack of hot water which they promptly fixed. We would stay there again!

We recently stayed at this superb Hotel for five nights. The Hotel is in a great location being within easy walking distance to the old city and night markets. We were in a Horizon Club Premier Room which was spacious with separate seating area and overlooking the gardens and pool area. The Horizon Club is well appointed with excellent and attentive staff which serves a superb buffet breakfast with a cooked to order main dish. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and the evening cocktails with an e... Read more

Stayed 4 nights with my family last week. The staff were amazing! Emily and Chaow both remembered my name from the first day and greeted me with a smile every time. Emily would also press the elevator for us. They were both very knowledgeable in their areas of work and is able to provide me with all the information and assistance that I needed. The one staff that impressed me the most however was the housekeeper, Joe. It seemed that he takes great pride in his work and is trying his best to ... Read more

Every time i stay in Shangri-La hotel, it always feels great with their facilities, landscapes, super complete gym facilities, great hospitality, luxurious room, great food & beverages. So this time was my first time to stay in Shangri-La Chiang Mai. From my definition above, unfortunately i feels little bit different with others Shangri-La. But not bad, at all. It just a little bit different. So for this one, i still can feels great with the hospitality, from concierge, front office, until ... Read more

This hotel has a nice spacious lobby with old world charm. The rooms are comfortable although we noticed a faint smell. The staff is generally helpful and friendly. The pool is very large and one of the best facilities of the property. Unfortunately the apartment complexes next to the hotel at the time that we stayed were renovating and there were loud sounds of drilling and hammering. So the peace and relaxation you will find at the pool will depend on what is going on around the hotel. A pleas... Read more

This hotel was very nice, room and pool to a good standard - however, I expected more and wouldn't say this is to the same standard of other Shangri-la's elsewhere. The pool was freezing....no one was in it because it was so cold. Nice hotel but not worth the money we paid

I stayed in this hotel with my wife for 3 days in order to catch up a long weekend. It was about 15 mins from airport with taxi fee 150 Thai baht. We walked to the Chiang Mai night bazaar from hotel by 15 minutes. The size and depth of the swimming pool were very good with the free provision of few slices water melon and ice water. The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. The view outside the room was great. The staff were very friendly and nice. Will stay again in next round of visit.

Great service. Nice rooms. They gave me a room on 5th so mountain side view was not great. Other than that, I have nothing else to complain. 10 min walk to daily night market. 30 mins walk to Sunday market. Tuktuk will cost you around 100-150 THB

Just superb, we stayed in deluxe room. Overall the hotel is immaculate, what we were hoping for being a 5 star hotel. The pool area is more like resorts style, pool boys very friendly and helpul setting up our towels for us on our sun loynges, then bringing complimentary cold face towel, fruit and a jug of cold water. Breakfast superb, so much to choose from they even had a coffee machine so we coyld have a lovely cappuccino or espresso. We are definitely going back next may. The hotel is ... Read more

Beautiful property in the middle of the city with easy access to the major tourist sights. Though the d√©cor does look a bit dated, it‚??s well maintained and definitely one of the better hotels in Chiangmai. Front desk staff are helpful but slow (both check in and check out process). Majority of the staff are very friendly, helpful and represented the famous Thai hospitality. Spacious rooms ‚?? clean, well-designed lighting with beautiful view across the city. Good size rooms and helpful staff in the Horizon club lounge (good happy hour) but the hotel itself is a bit dead - huge lobby areas with no one in them. Pool is nice and spa is good - I had a good massage (although could have got it much cheaper outside).

The Shangri La is, without doubt, pretty much the best hotel available in Chiang Mai. It's a good hotel and is very reasonably price by Shangri La standards. The hotel is in a very good location with many things within walking distance or a short time away in a taxi tuk-tuk. The service levels are (as expected) fairly high and housekeeping is thorough and efficient. There's a really nice pool area with attentive staff and a very nice spa. The gym equipment could do with some updating though.... Read more

I spent 5-nights at the Shang Chiangmai and it was a most enjoyable stay. Special shout-out to George, Horizon Club Manager, and his team for their professional service and hospitality. We were very well looked after - Thank you so much! The property is about a 10-min walk from the Night Market and the concierge team is always on hand to advice on local transportation needs. The decor does feel a bit tired but it's overall very well-maintained. I will strongly recommend upgrading to the Club... Read more

Stayed two nights with several family members covering three generations from teenagers to 80. Everyone was very impressed with the facilities, the service, the breakfast, the health club, pretty much everything. The pool is a magnificent relaxing refuge, about 2 1/2 times the size of a standard lap pool with a curved architecture. You can still swim laps but they are probably 50-75 meters long. Large shallow end and an equally large deep end. Only open 7am-7pm and the health club til 10 pm... Read more

The Shangri La was Everything I could hope for. We were picked up at the airport and registered in our room. The Horizon Club is a must. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful with all wants. The spa was perfectly relaxing. We had a dinner for 18 people and the entire staff waited on our every request. The room was very comfortable. We could not have asked for a more pleasurable stay.

Stayed there again for 3 nights in June. As a several returning guest I missed Shangrila special services (as I get it always in Manila). No welcome letter anymore, no room upgrade, breakfast buffet getting smaller with less varieties, evening buffet is not worth anymore (as in the past) to join. Noisy chinese guests disturb the atmosphere of Shangrila touch a lot. Very sad that Shangrila Chiang Mai a former star of Hotels in Chiang Mai is running down fast.
