We stayed hereon our honeymoon and it was a perfect stay. On arrival we had flowers, wine chocolates and more. Throughout our stay we were treated excellently and this was the same for all people staying. Great pool and the spa is amazing. It is located within 5 minutes walking distance to the night bazaar and many other street markets. There are always tuk tuks out front, I would advise using these rather than taxis organised by the hotel as they are expensive. Great stay, I would certainly re... Read more

Had a great stay in Shangri-la Chiang Mai in early Jan. Hotel had usual high standard of the hotel group, and an absolutely fabulous pool. Just remember pool is a bit cold in the morning, as a neighbouring tall building doesn't let the sun shine on the pool till about noon. It's also pretty well located with the night market a really short stroll away. Plenty of massage places nearby, we got a foot massage nearly every day we were there!

I love Shangril-la Holidays, these hotels always have lovely gardens and amenities. Chiang Mai was a magical place, not as hectic as Bangkok, but with an ambience of the story of Lost Horizons about it. Temples in the mountain, ancient tribal hill tribes and cities. The hotel sits amongst a garden of trees and plants that are a pleasure to stroll through with the spa situated among the trees and pool areas. This hotel had the nicest group of people who work there I have encountered. Joe, the ... Read more

From the moment we were greeted at the airport, and given refresher towels, water and free wifi in the car, I knew we were getting service beyond any expectation. Check in was great! So smooth. We stayed in the Horizon level floors and had access to the lounge. Service was just impeccable. Our room was set up beautifully for our honeymoon with fresh flowers, fresh bowls of fruit, chocolates and elephants shaped out do towels. The bath and rose petals and make it feel all very romantic. The gro... Read more

I can only say vey positive things about this hotel and it's awesome staff. The hotel is very clean. Rooms are large with great bathrooms and large picture windows with pool or mountain views. Great service from everyone; Starting with buffet breakfast at the Kad Cafe. Cappuccino and boiling water for tea waiting every morning served by a wonderful team. Rim and the pool staff, Mr Joe and the housing keeping department, the Horizon club staff, especially George, Bow, D.Dear Dear, Phrae and ev... Read more

Our 5 days at the Shangri-La were wonderful. It's an oasis in downtown Chiang Mai, just a few minutes walk from the night bazaar and the old town. We would definitely recommend it. While several other hotels in the area have comparable prices, the Shangri-La felt more true to Thai culture in terms of its design aesthetic and location. The staff was what made the stay - 10/10. Those in the Horizon Club lounge were so kind and welcoming. George and Dear, specifically, were so good to us and so fr... Read more

I recently spent 3 weeks in Northern Thailand on a motorcycle and used the Shangri La as a hub when in Chiang Mai. The whole team was very helpful but especially the GM Franz who enjoys motorcycles and was kind enough to go beyond the call of duty and suggest routes and places to stay in the region. A lot of this was done remotely while he was travelling to Europe. This deserves a shout out for beyond the call of duty customer service. Thanks Franz and the Shangri La team!

I visited Chiang mai during the Lantern Festival 2015. Somehow I came to Shangri la is at the best location and I think I made the best decision of the trip so select this hotel. Never ever in my life I experienced such a service. Moreover staff went out of way to make our stay comfortable, specially for my infant. They almost met all our requests which we never felt were easy but hats off . Now wherever I go I look for Shangri la first.
