we usually are too lazy to write review comments for hotels ...well to say the least we travel all across the world for both business and pleasure and have stayed in hotels which could easily claim place in top 5s and 10s of the region but have found nothing to write home about. But not to pen my thoughts around this visit on this hotel would be sheer injustice..especially when you think of the personal touch this hotel brings in each and every aspect of your stay..this hotel was recommended by a... Sukhothai hotel is the great hotel in design and atmosphere . I just turned left to the hotel and you felt out of Bangkok. The bedroom is great, I love the King size bed especially spending the time to drink at the pool. I recommend you to visit there.

The hotel is more than 5 stars in quality term. The building is well architectural design, expressing optimizing Thai climate. The lotus icon is everywhere. The area is heart-center with convenient transportation (close to MRT station Lumpini). This is low rise hotel among the high rise ones. You can appreciate the clear sky from the swimming pool. The service of staff is excellent. The staffs are really helpful and friendly. They are really humble but solid at work. The welcome chocolate is dei... Read more

great colonial hotel. There is a big and warm swimming-pool. The service is excellent and the breakfast very varied and delicious and fine. It's a good location for business and leisure. The bedrooms though very comfortable are getting a little old.

My friend that travels quite a bit to Bangkok recommended the Sukhothai. We only stayed one night and enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable as well. The exterior of the property is beautiful with many gardens and ponds. They have a nice pool and locker room facility that sits away from the main building. It's a great place to relax. What I was surprised about was how dated the interior was. The hotel is definitely in need of an update. The other is... Read more

We booked this hotel for a romantic and sporty weekend staycation. Things started off on a VERY bad foot and never really recovered. Where to begin... - Because of rush hour traffic I arrived by foot and despite several bellboys out front, no one offered to assist me with my heavy luggage. - On a 40 degree day when I was very evidently hot and bothered from a long walk from the MRT station I was offered no cold towel or water in the lobby. - The front desk clerk did not smile or welcome me and ... The Sukhothai is one of the most elegant, classic and private hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff, who come to feel like family by the time you leave, make your stay perfect. The gardens, water features and classic Thai architectural elements coupled with elegance of the hotel are a meeting of East and West. I wouldn't think twice about going back and staying there again and again.

A very good hotel indeed, where I've stayed multiple times. Service is very good and the rooms comfortable. Location is rather convenient, even if not too close to the BTS. The pool is great, except for the big parking lot and trash collection facility next to it. The Thai restaurant serves amazing food!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Spacious room with beautiful pond view. Like the space, transquility, good service, good food & Thai architecture. Next to banyan tree resort where you can go to the skybar which has a beautiful city view. Also, walking distance to MRT station. Generally very satisfied

The rooms here have deep wood, are a retreat from the business that is Bangkok and the bathrooms are spectacular. This was my second stay and it was even better than the first one was. There is a quiet sense of service which comes from every member of the staff and the grounds are beautiful. The sky bar is next door if you would like a fun evening out. I recommend this place if you are on this side of town. The business and conference centers are also reflective of that special service.

I stayed 2 nights at the Sukothai in Bangkok. We booked a deluxe suite which was fab: very big bathroom, with jack & Jill sinks . Bed and pillows very big and allergy free . I liked the welcome chocolates and daily fresh fruit in the living room area. We also got a fantastic view. Service was good and breakfast was a great variety buffet .

A true blood Thai hotel starting from the staff to the rooms, to the food and service. Very ideally located on the main road in Sathorn and so a little away from the hustle bustle and yet not too far away. A small taxi ride of 20 mins can take u to the shopping hub of Bangkok.

Things are overall great with excellent hospitality. Bed is superb, toilet amenities superb, cleanliness excellent. Like the chocolates! Not so good: 1. tricky to manage the lights, and room is dim 2. Room not soundproof. 3. TV had problem, and staff came by 2 times. In the end I decided to just not ON the TV.

Everything was ok. They discovered that travelers appreciate more having lots of bottles of water in the room than having a chocolate and a useless loving card by night... Breakfast was outstanding. Room of 10/10 service friendly and dedicated. The only weird thing is that no renamed restaurant for dining or a nice bar is established within. Is an oasis of tranquility in the middle if Bangkok. It became now among my list of top ten hotels in the world ( and I visited more than 50 countries...) ... Read more

When I am feeling exhausted and worn out I dream about The Sukhothai Hotel. It just is the perfect place to stay and get re-energised. I stayed there two years ago and have dreamt of returning ever since. The return visit was not disappointing. I always like a room overlooking the pool. Love the suites. So spacious and comfortable. I returned to the Sukhothai after a couple of years and was immediately reminded of the uniqueness of this property - as you enter the driveway and proceed through the grass walls and waterfalls, it feels like you're in phuket or hua hin, not in the middle of Central Bangkok. The rooms retain a slightly Thai colonial charm and the Thai restaurant is excellent. We were well taken care of by the head of guest relations - Miss Tippawan. The concierge service in planning and guidance in the unknown, with punctual and impeccable support is seldom seen. Thanks Khun Kook for organizing a breath taking tour in the little hours that were available to enjoy the maximum of the unique and rich Thai culture. Thanks everybody within The Sukhothai Bangkok

Having stayed here for 5 times, it never ceases to amaze and delight me and my husband how special and splendid The Sukhothai is. It has been observed by many reviewers but this hotel really deserves the accolade of an 'Oasis in Bangkok'. Despite advertising "free high-speed wifi" on its TripAdvisor page, this hotel charges for fast internet. The internet you get for free is diabolically slow (about a fifth of the speed you get from your cell phone) and if you want adequate internet they make you pay for it. When I brought his to the attention of the management and showed them the advertisements they still insisted I pay for the internet. The transition from the hustle and bustle of city to a calm and elegant environment has brought me time and time again to the hotel. Somehow this time my visit was unexpectedly uncomfortable. At check-in I stood for a long while before someone came to ask for my documents. Despite only staying for three days (wish it was much longer), I totally fell in love with The Sukhothai. It's so different from any other hotels in Thailand, and indeed anywhere else I ever visited. It may not the swankiest property around nor the latest gadgets in the room (which I hasten to add is equipped with lots of mod cons anyway!), but it is full of characters and 'soul'. I really enjoyed this hotel. It has a nice Thai touch and everything here reminded me that I was in Thailand! The hotel was very clean and their breakfast buffet was AMAZING! Stayed at the hotel in July for 4 nights. Was visiting Bangkok for the first time. The location is excellent, it's about a 20 minute taxi ride from everywhere- from Koh San Road if you're young and you're into the partying. And it's also very close to Patpong where you can go explore the night market! The staff were so lovely and helpful and the hotel was spotless. We only had a standard room and it was really cool and modern. Excellent time!

I have tried several hotels in Bangkok and this is definitely one of my favourite ones. It's like a quiet Oasis in the heart of the city. Unfortunately on this occasion I wasn't aware that the hotel is under refurbishment. I had booked the room via Expedia and there was no mention of any refurbishment. I had to move the room several times to find a place where the smell of the paint was not too strong. I will definitely come back to this hotel in the future, but only once the work has finished...
