This time I visited Bangkok for plane spotting. They have a plane spotting package which includes a room with balcony from where you can see all the arrivals when runway 19R is in use, breakfast, transfers from/to the airport and Lat Krabang Station and a discount on dinners at Catch Up Café. I spent a total of 10 days there, and I would recommend this hotel. One of the best hotels for plane spotting in the area. Rooms are exactly as they pictured on their website, very big and clean, café/te ... Read more

Clean and tidy. Return transfers to the airport. Good breakfast. Liked the area went out for a good massage and some local street food. Very reasonable prices. The only downside is you are right under the flight path, make sure you have earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

I recommend this place if you have an early flight. Very close to the airport. The only problem i encountered is the heater. It didnt work on our stay. But we only stayed for one night since our flight will be at 7am the next day.

I'm here tonight on my third visit. If you don't want to splash the cash on the BKK on-airport Novotel this is a great alternative. I am staying this time with free breakfast and return transfers and change from £25 thanks to The rooms are clean and come with air con, water, basic toiletries etc. The cafe/bar is relaxed and has a decent menu. I unfortunately missed my connecting flight and was faced with either staying at the airport for 16 hours or finding a hotel. I jumped on TA and found this little spot and booked it for about $20USD. If you head down to EXIT 4 on the 2nd floor there is a pole with a bunch of hotels listed including the Phoenix. From here they provide a free shuttle to their hotel which is literally a 8 minute ride. Upon arriving my hotel room was spacious, clean, had a nice king bed with soft sheets. Intern... Read more

My husband and I recently stayed at the Phoenix Hotel. It was a quick 1 night stay before catching an early international flight the next morning. The hotel was better than expected for being so cheap and close to the airport. Rooms are simple and clean, staff are friendly, and the there's a free shuttle to/from the airport. Additionally, there's a pretty good restaurant on the ground floor with lots of options, called the Catch Up Cafe. My husband and I enjoyed some delicious Green Curry a... Read more

Well this hotel is cheap and cheerful which is good if you are on a budget. They cater well for the aviation enthusiast. So let us start at the beginning - check in. This was ok and quick but then I arrived at 09.15 in the morning. the hotel has 4 floors (ground floor and then 3 more) There is not a lift here but the staff will help you with your luggage. All staff are very friendly. The room. I had room 3305 which is a twin but I was on my own. All the usual facilities, 2 beds which are of a go... Read more

To be short: Dont waste your money on this place even if you just want to get a few hours of sleep before a flight. Firstly, the incredibly loud noise of starting and landing airplanes plus the ??cleanliness?? made it impossible to take even a short rest. In detail: I only stayed at the Phoenix Hotel because I had a few hours before a flight from BKK and wanted to get some sleep. I chose this place because it was cheap and offered free shuttle. Of course I didn??t expected even 3 Star qualit... Read more

Arriving in the shuttle bus at 2am, all we could see was ramshackle buildings and stray dogs. When we got out we had to be careful we didn't step on dog excretement. Nothing to eat at this time of the morning so we were told to go to the 7/11 up the street. They had nothing to eat either! We had been travelling all day. The rooms were dreadful. White doors which are all dirty, the cupboards in the rooms did not seem if they had been washed in a long time. Beds, we weren't getting in there. Showe... Read more

My wife and daughter are staying in this hotel now. I booked and paid on line with a card and when I checked with my bank they confirmed the payment was pending. But at reception they said I had not paid and charged my wife again in cash at an incrteased price. Looks like they have charged for the airport shuttle whcih I thought was supposed to be free. I stopped the payment on my card. WiFi on the room doesn't work.

Needed a place to land after midnight arrival at BKK on 7/14. Got the small suite which had beds for four and a beautiful bathroom with soaking tub and shower. The airport is pretty far out of town so not a great place to stay for more than a night, but there is a picturesque canal and temple around the corner from the hotel. Hotel cafe is reasonable with decent asian and western breakfast options. NO elevator.

The Phoenix Hotel has the undeniable upsides of being fairly inexpensive and 10 minutes drive from the airport. I stop there any time I am leaving early morning or arriving late night. Rooms are comfortable and quiet, and the hotel is close to a monastery, worth a visit if one has sufficient time before/after the flight. The only little drawback is the transport: last time I had to wait more than an hour at the meeting point of the airport before the mini-van arrived.

Basic, clean room. Toilet, shower and hot water worked fine. Not every room may be like this, but the patio sliding door had a 1cm (1/4 inch) gap from top to bottom on one side and smaller gap on the other, even when fully closed and locked. Not good in mosquito country -- cheap hotels around Bangkok airport can have this issue, but it's usually gaps (or no screens) on the toilet/shower window. Stuffed towels in the gaps. Booked a room for a one night airport stay. Didn't stay for longer than five minutes. BED BUGS. Dirty sheets and mattress. Room looked nothing like the pictures shown on Agoda. This is a total scam. When we complained, they were not surprised about the bed bugs and took us back to the airport as if this is a common occurrence. We booked another room at the Best Western which was a great decision. In sum, NEVER STAY HERE!

Some rooms are obviously quite nice but not the one we stayed in. It wasn't anything like the photos we had seen. Tucked away down a narrow street and seemed a bit isolated to walk around at night if by yourself but there is a great little funky cafe there for nice meals and cheap prices. Great location with free shuttle To airport and cheap room. Room was just okay and wouldn't stay there more than a night. Staff said I must take taxi into Bangkok which can be pricey, but with some prodding, I was able to figure out the train with the help of the guy who drove the shuttle bus (and dropped me at train! I stayed at this hotel as I had a flight back home in two days. The transfer from the airport wasn't too bad it was actually very quick considering some of the reviews I had read previously. The rooms are basic but they serve the job required, just somewhere to lay your head for the night. I check in on the said hotel. It was good! The people who works there are all polite. The room is just cozy. Bathroom must be kept tidy and clean (I see some molds and or hard water). The air-conditioning slowly cools the room so I had a hard time sleeping for the first hour. The airport transfer is excellent. It's near a convenient store (7-11). Anything else, Good! The hotel room was okay, breakfast took ages to cook but was good. I stayed in two rooms, In an average room and a 'suite room'. The upgraded room was much better, it had a flat HD TV, okay shower & bathroom and good beds. The usual room was very old and wasn't as nice as the upgraded room. Had a tiny little room, with a toilet, sink and shower all in one which was disgusting. The room was small but enough for at least 2 people to comfortably stay.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It offers free airport shuttles leaving every 30 minutes which made it really easy when arriving in Bangkok because we didn't have to worry about communicating with the taxis. the photos are not an accurate depiction of the room. I would never stay here again. Place was dirty and old. We stayed in a room that has not yet been remodeled because the photos are 100% different than the room we stayed in. They do not pick you up from the airport. Taxi drivers do NOT like taking you here because they want more money. We got ripped off. They only drop off to the airport once every hour. Also you'll hear all the planes landing and taking off....
