The Pinnacle Lumpinee is conveniently situated just off the Rama IV Road, a main thoroughfare in Bangkok. We were on the ninth floor - no traffic noise at all. The pool area and restaurant on the 14th floor are great for the views. The hotel has a conference facility in the first floor, while the main dining area is on the ground floor. We had excellent breakfasts here at modest cost, with there being both western foods and Asian-type foods available. We weren't there for other meals. Our bedroo... Read more

The hotel was okay, nothing fancy but the room was comfortable. For me the best thing about this hotel is it is in a good location. About 4 minutes walk to the nearest MRT station. There are 24-hour convenience stores nearby, a bank a few cafes nearby. Pros Good location Tour desk at the lobby Clean Room Cons They don't have enough irons If you need to iron your clothes, request for an iron the night before, else if you request the morning that you need to use it - be prepared to wait for 45 ... Since I am in the hotel industry myself ... it seems that replying an email to guest are very important as well..as servicing the guest. Have stay in this hotel years ago and had a wonderful stay and decided to stay in this hotel again my my incoming visit... I used to live in Thailand from 2004-7 and we used this hotel all the time because it offers a superb location, outstanding value for money and although quite old, it was always spotlessly clean. On subsequent trips back to BKK we always stay here, it almost felt like a "home from home" One of the reasons was the charming and helpful staff - so imagine how surprising it was to be greeted by a rude and unhelpful receptionist who curtly told me "no check in until 2pm!" When my party arrived at... Read more

The Pinnacle is liveable overall, if not having high expectations ... Things look old, windows are dirty, the reception looks tired ... yet breakfast is quite okay that inexpensive rate we paid, when we were in a standard room. This time now we opted for the Pinnacle room, which costs over double the price of the standard rooms. Things still look old and tired, the view is not outstanding either, yet the price is similar to some four or even five star hotels. So, all in all: standard rooms ar... Read more

Can't really beat the price, nice clean room. Friendly staff. Pool is on the roof and catches the sun most the day. There's also a gym, steam room and sauna. Breakfast was very good. I will be staying here next time when I come to Bangkok for sure

This is a lovely place: a really great room and very friendly professional service. You instantly relax from the moment you arrive. Breakfast was lovely ?? as with any buffet breakfast, you need to be there at the right time, otherwise the extensive choice isn??t always necessarily hot. But I would definitely stay again, with its facilities that include a pool [which I didn??t have time to try, this trip], a pleasant and welcoming lobby and a very nice sky bar, where I sat and had a late even... We stayed here for 5 nights at the start of june, the hotel itself is very clean and in a perfect location to catch the train to chinatown or other places. Its also very close to lumpinee park, a brilliant escape from the city. Overall the hotel was good, the facilities for the price were fantastic, including the rooftop pool and sauna rooms. The gym equipment is broken but still usable... And for the price who can complain! The bar and rooftop staff were brilliant - very accomodating and helpfu... Read more

Overall horrible service. I would avoid this one. Laughed at us when we were late to our venue, did not want to help with our taxi, and wanted to overcharge. I had to request a bellhop; they wanted us to carry our belonging while the bellhops watched. The rooms were old ad not up-kept.

Pros about this hotel: (1) The hotel is very close to the MRT station, so you can easily catch a train to any area. (2) The rooms are worth the price you pay for them. (3) The breakfast buffet is quite expansive, but since we're vegetarians, there wasn't anything much for us to eat. (4) Meter taxis are available right outside the hotel. (5) There's a Filipino woman who sits on a help-desk(don't know her name), who is extremely helpful and very sweet. Also, she understands and can converse in En... Read more

This was my second visit to Pinnacle and after the positive stay on my previous visit, I was looking forward to staying here. On this occasion I stayed two non-consecutive nights; the first when I flew in from Australia and the other on the night before I returned home. I was very disappointed this time around, mainly by the quality of service. Despite arriving after a long journey of over 10 hours, I wasn't warmly welcomed by reception. Before I start I was with 5 other people at this hotel with 3 of them being Thai and it helped a lot. Upon arriving at the hotel I was helped immediately with the staff carrying our bags to the main lobby. From reviews I expected for us to not be able to check in early however this was not the case. We checked in, left a 1000 Baht deposit then was taken to our room by the staff. Our rooms were located on the 6th floor. The one main positive for this hotel is that its quite cheap given its location in South Sathon among many pricier brands.. The hotel was ok : you get what you pay for & it was certainly cheap : quite functional if you only plan to be in the hotel to sleep & maybe breakfast. But what was really lousy & most upsetting was the attitude of the staff : never seen such unhelpful and rude people. We just stayed here for a night and the primary reason I booked this hotel was due to its close proximity to Lumphini Park which I intend to jog in the early morning. The park itself in the morning was full of people even on weekdays and it was a wonderful place to exercise in the morning. As for the hotel, the groundfloor was smelly perhaps due to the aged floor carpet...Room amenities was basic and a bit shaddy and old. But what was remarkable was the breakfast.. This hotel has a faded-glory aura about it. I liked the size and layout of my room on the 8th floor. Nice big bathroom. Good bed. Can't remember if delux or superior. The staff were all very professional and pleasant -- the complaints you read about customer service in other reviews seem to have been fixed. I have one complaint -- I booked for 5 nights, and after the first night I asked to switch to a west-facing room but they couldn't accommodate me, even though I asked several mornings. I f... I have stayed many times at the Pinnacle Lumpinee Park and it never disappoints me. Yes it is a bit old and 80's in it's style but rooms get constant soft refurbishment and offer amazing value for money. The only minor set back is that the bathrooms need a really good make over. Rooms are spacious, well furnished and comfortable. I chose the cheapest room category and it was fine . Worked out at less than $30 USD a night room only inc tax. I'm on the fence about this one. On won hand for the price I can't complain but on the other there are little things that could make this place better. The aircon works fine in the bed rooms how ever not in the hall ways. The gym is pretty poor and not for anyone with any gym experience. The roof top bar and restaurant are good but over all nothing special. The bed was comfortable and was massive. Staying here is one of the greatest money deals and in great location to the MRT (subway) that also will link to the BTS (skytrain) in this massive city. It is clean and staff are remarkable . . . the buffet breakfast is a real deal for everyone to enjoy before going on your daily excursions of "the city of angels." Very close to the Rama IV road with the great locations of street foods and, of course, 7-11!

We stayed here for four nights and it was a really pleasant stay. The staff was very polite and did everything to ensure we had a good stay at their hotel. It was clean and the location was alright. The breakfast wasn't the best, but I guess it's really difficult to find much better in all of Southeast Asia. The hotel has absolutely seen better days, but it's still a great choice as a midrange hotel.

Generally, the hotel is very accessible from downtown Bangkok if you prefer commuting (which is practical considering that it is along one of the most traffic congested streets of the city) since it is a few meters away from Lumphini MRT station. For a very competitive price you can have good, spacious rooms that offer very good vantage points of the city. Friends of mine stayed here earlier this year and said that it was very pleasant, good value for money and, most of all, an easy walk to the Lumphini MRT Underground station. They found it difficult to get taxis in the peak hours as the road is a popular cut through hence very busy but otherwise there were no problems.
