The hotel has been a preferred option for many years due to location and familiarity of the staff. This trip was certainly not one to build memories on! The arrival at the hotel was great with a warm welcome from Ratsack the concierge - he is always exceptional and so enthusiastic re customer experience and satisfaction! The arrival at reception appeared to be an irritation to the staff. Poor English, no real conversation and certainly no welcome. The room was nice however the bathroom was true... Read more

Hotel is an old landmark of the City but need some renovation and freshening-up! Which I think there were doing in the neighbouring rooms while I was there. What annoyed me most is the fact that no wifi is provided (neither in public area). I usually check when booking hotel but (probably) this time I didn't. So be prepared to pay extra 267 Baht for 24 hours wifi (if you don't want to spend half that for just 1 hour). And do not expect you can use both your pc and your mobile!! This is the pric... The hotel is tired, decor looks 30 years old but has a new GM who is breathing new life into the place. Staff are friendly,if not always clear what to do, rooms are clean if old. Apparently renovation starts in a couple of months time. Convenient for BTS, Patpong night market, Silom, Lumphini etc. Reasonably priced option if you want to be in that vicinity.

We have stayed in this hotel for 2 days and I just can say that its good hotel in bangkok regarding its price, the location is near to the shopping malls that its a good advantage in the traffic of bangkok, the rooms were clean but old fashion( they have still using the old keys for rooms), the breakfast was good, the service was average. the thing is its a good hotel for a short stay if you do not expect any special services.

I would love to be writing a happy story of my trip to Bangkok. There were some amazing sights & experiences that I will hold forever. The overflowing feeling is one of buyer beware! I stayed at the Montien Hotel for 4 nights in May, 2016. The hotel is one of the older "Grand Dames" of Bangkok. Reception was very swift, the staff were reasonably fluent in English & all appeared well. I was shown to my room, which was actually quite spacious & well air-conditioned. I was interested in going on so... Read more

Cheap and locates in the center of Bangkok, available to many major spots in Bangkok city, nearby MRT Sam Yan and BTS Sala Daeng. Old facility and a moist smell from the AC though, service is good. If you're expecting a fancy stay and various needs from hotel facility or extra service, please do not come here. If you have limited budget and looking for a reasonable stay in the center of Bangkok, it may be one of your choice.

Very old fashioned. Staffs are hardly understanding English. Bad smell around. Old room facilities. But almost located in good place in city close to night bars. The breakfast is not bad. No tea included. It's expensive compared to the services that they deliver.

Although the check-in was slow, the lady got us organised, however put us in a room that they were repairing the air conditioning. They helped us change rooms quickly, however the TV was faulty in our new room. This they also changed quickly. It is the first time we have had any problems at this hotel and we will surely stay again when next in Bangkok. One down fall is that the WiFi is not free.

Funny smell in the lobby and the whole hotel has a smell of cigarettes (still has smoking floors where we were put to start with before requesting a room change) Staff very hard to communicate with in English. The hotel could certainly do with some care and attention, nothing major to complain about however a bit dated in the older section. Staff seemed to have limited English language skills, but were friendly and tried hard to help. Short walk to Skytrain to get to other areas of Bangkok and Pat Pong night market on doorstep are things worth experiencing. Shopping at MBK mall is worth a full day with most things available in Air conditioned building.

Even if this hotel is not of the newest standard it is very charming and clean. It was built in the mid 60`s but still has the luxury feel to it. They take service very serious and the staff is realy helpful and polite. We book two executive rooms which were big enough for two adults and a extra bed, if you need one. This is one of the usual places I stay to be in the Silom area of Bangkok. Close to MRT & BTS, PatPong and lots nearby. So easy to get around. Big rooms, nice pool, good location. Skip breakfast and use Took lae Dee cafe in the 24hr Foodland restaurant 3 min walk away. Having to pay for Wifi is crazy and not clear on all booking sites.

The hotel was built long time ago but it was well maintained and very clean. The room was spacious and the pool was nice. What I disliked was there was no shower in the bathroom, which was very inconvenient. The location was great. But there was no good Thai restaurant nearby, Western ones only. I forgot my camera in the corridor area and the Lost and Found team returned it to me in short time.

The breakfast is acceptable. And you can stroll around in the evening, there's Patpong night market which is just across the street.

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times now but there is no way I will ever stay here again. Given the price of the Montien, you are much better off staying at the Pathumwan Princess. I stay in this hotel for 3 day's. It's a businiss hotel so everyone want to use the internet. Well in this hotel you still have to pay for it. More than 200 bath a day. It's unbelievable that there are still hotels, and this is not a cheap hotel, who ask money for internet. If you go to Laos or Cambodia there is free internet in every hotel. But in the biggest city of asia you must pay. Very bad for a hotel like this

Nice hotel with a convenient location downtown. The lobby and the rooms are decorated in traditional Thai style, rooms are clean and good, breakfast has several options, both Western and Asian food. At night they have a singer performing in the lobby and right in front of the hotel outside you there is a night market with everything you can imagine to find! There is also a shopping mall nearby and good restaurant options. And of course, staff is very friendly!

This is one of the oldest hotels in Bangkok and it shows its age. Well located in the proximity of Patpong and the shopping district (close to Jim Thomson) but its owners/managers seem to have abandoned it to the ravages of time.
