the room and the b athroom were both nice and clean and the staff were most helpful and friendly. the restaurant was very well catered for meals and to just have a snack The girl that organised the river tours was very helpful even coming back after the cruise to make sure that we where able to get a taxi back to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for family as well as couples.

This is a budget hotel in the worst senses of the word. It is located off the main road through a small darkened alley. The hotel staff may be friendly but they literally avoiding lifting the finger. The soap and shampoo are combined (I know, there is body hair, after all). There is no pair of slippers in the room--the first time I have experienced this in a Thai hotel. Even the lowest grade hotel has slippers. Had I known, I would have brought a pair of slippers from one of the nicer hotels I s... Read more

This was my 5th stay at Ibis Bangkok Riverside. And whats not to like about it. Rooms are well furished and tastefully decorated and the shower is just the right size. The staff, from the manager to the cleaners are friendly and helpful and always have a smile on their face. Walking into reception after a long day out sightseeing or shopping is a welcome relief knowing their smile and friendly nature will cure your tired, aching body. This hotel actually is in a good location. It has a good and broad space of lobby. The swimming pool is also good. In addition, it provides good foods for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, the room facilities of this hotel are limited: no slippers, no toothbrush, and the receptionists are not really friendly.

I have been coming to Bangkok regularly over the past 20 years, and have stayed at many hotels. The IBIS Bangkok Riverside is in my top three for people on a budget...and especially for families with young children. Its location...across from the Sathorn Boat Pier near the Saphan Taksin BTS stop...means that's it's separated by the big river that cuts through the heart of the city from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The hotel takes full advantage of its riverside location with a beautiful... Read more

By Bangkok standards this hotel doesn't look value for money. you could get a decent 4 star in a more central location for about the same price. However, for me, the best location in Bangkok is by the river. No other hotel in this price range has gardens and pool by The Chou Praya. Rooms are typical Ibis, smallish but very clean with good aircon and comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice, it was better at weekends when they have a live egg station. There was no wash cloth provided, and the soap is wall mounted in dispensers which was not a problem as we like to travel light and it seemed decent quality. There was an Xbox in the room which provided a good activity for the kids one rainy evening before bed. The games must be checked out from the front desk. We all l... Read more

I stayed at ibis riverside for 4 days. But it was a terrible experience. The location of the hotel is really nice, right on the river with a swimming pool in the garden. You also have the change to get a massage in a thai style house outside. Next to the river with nice adult and children pool. Although an Ibis, the quality is level of Novotel/Mercure. Ask for a room facing the pool. Advice: 1. Some of the other rooms overlook a canal that's heavily polluted. Avoid these. 2. The hotel is close to the sky train but you have to cross a very busy street which isn't easy with small children. Stayed in this hotel for a night. Experience was terrifying. No electricity in room, no dental kit in hotel, bath towel request to be made 5times , bad wifi connection , poor communication of staff. Rude and unsympathetic staff. Every 30mins electricity went off and we had to call maintenance guy who took 30mins to come every time and we had to be without electricity for that time . This happened 3-4times during one night stay. Only thing nyc was they kept our luggage for more then 15hrs.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It took us more than an hour to reach as it was peaked hour. The room was clean and there was free wifi. We did not use the breakfast facilities. It was a bit far to places of interest and the only near shopping centre is the Asiatique which you can access using the free river taxi and walking to and fro from the hotel. But if you just want to relax then this is it with beautiful view of the river.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days, will definitely be back, the staff where so warm & friendly, i feel we had the best of both worlds, a pool to chill during the day, and yet in close proximity to the city, food was ok, but there are other places to eat locally, would highly recommend.

Lovely location right on the river. There is a 7/11 within 200m and a number of restaraunts serving local food within short walking distance from the hotel. Staying a few extra days in Bangkok, I thought it'd be fun to be near the Chao Phraya river, especially the photos on its website looked real nice. For starters, the river is far from scenic, and you'd mostly see industrial ferry-type traffic rather than the idyllic picture Thai tourism would promote. Having said that, there was a nice pool in the garden, clean room, basic toilet and clean linen, etc. The staff was very helpful and friendly, however, communication was a bit challenging, as not m... I had an overall nice experience. It really feels like you're in a relaxing resort-type hotel in the concrete jungle, that is Bangkok. The location is great, it's in a quiet area, far enough from the madness of the city. And it's really amazing to see the lit-up boats at night literally passing by in front of the restaurant terrace ! The rooms are surprisingly spacious for an Ibis hotel and I had a great view of the river. The staff are professional and super friendly. It's an ibis but the serv... Read more

Your eyes will surely find the beautifully placed swimming pool through the window of the reception area. 1800 baht per room per night is worth because it is situated just beside the river! We went there on our Honeymoon in December 2015, room was very small as compared to other hotels that we stayed in Phuket and Krabi, we were given single beds which was silly. The pool is good, buffet breakfast is alright, nothing great about it. Clean rooms. Nothing to complaint about but had better experience in other hotels.

There is a lot to like about this hotel! Affordable prices, clean and modern rooms, helpful staff, pool and restaurant on site, free parking on site, 7-Eleven just outside the front door, plenty of food shops in close walking distance. Train station is walking distance (or take the free hotel shuttle) ... I come through Bangkok often, and have stayed here many times because it has so much to offer.

It is surely not the fanciest hotel in Bangkok. Nevertheless, for around $40 per night for 3 guests it is surely one of the best bargains in town. The room is clean but basic. The showers and toilet room is a bit tight and there is no bath tube. The wifi reception in the room was very poor. However, the hotel's surroundings and location are superb. We picked this place for a late evening arrival into Bangkok. Ride in was quick at that time of night. Check in was relatively fast and efficient. The rooms are typical Ibis. Compact but well-arranged and very functional. Bathrooms are small but again functional. The price is certainly good for the location. The location is riverfront which can't be beat. Pool is nice. A very nice, typical ibis right on the river. The rooms are compact, practical and comfortable. There have a very good outdoor pool and patio area. And a nice bar for lounging close to the river. It's lovely to watch the boats with lights going up and down the river. The night was quiet and we slept well. The buffet breakfast is pretty good - nothing spectacular but something for everyone. It was quite hard to grab a cab on the street outside, maybe better to get reception to call for you.

IBIS Bangkok Riverside is beautifully located at the mighty Chayo Phraya River in Bangkok. It is a pleasure to stay there, and when correcting a few minusser it will be a perfect choise: Have you ever heard of a hotel, who dont provide egg cups? Try to manage a hot boiled egg (no soft...) in your hand the morning.... Bacon is also missing - you only find the cheap cooked and pressed ham, which is tasting as a wet napkin.
