unfortunately only 2/5 due the expectations what the hotel gives - they promote "top50". The staff doesn't know exactly what they talk about - tours, taxis, breakfast etc. The rooftop bar is not open or staffed until night time. The rooms do NOT have ANY view unless you book Deluxe room +500thb which we did after two nights of displeasure. The breakfast is so-so and they do not fill that and the salad sauce is so bad looking it makes you want to throw up. Omelettes are done with just eggs whic... Read more

The Solo hotel located in Sukhumvit Soi 2 is the best Hotel I have experienced in Bangkok. So many great things to report about this hotel, first of all I made an error when booking my 1 night stay, I entered the wrong date and after I confirmed my payment I realised that it was the wrong date, so I contacted Ms May via email and informed her I had made an error and requested that I change the booking date, my request was accepted and the date changed at the same rate, so no extra cost I was ext... Situated at the end of an alley , 5 minutes walk from Nana Monorail station this hotel was just fine for my short stay, 2 nights in the heart of Bangkok. Hotel Solo is clean, relatively modern with, like the rest of Thailand, has staff who are so helpful and charming. The room is functional with a lift serving the upper floors. Walking distance to Soi Sukhumvit 4 and Nana Plaza or there are taxis sitting right across from the hotel. A two minute walk from the hotel there is an air conditioned ma... Read more

Starting with the good points, the hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to BTS station down an alleyway so is quiet at night, roof top pool and affordable room rate ($50/night) for a superior room (note no view with this room). I didn't get the breakfast after reading some of the reviews on here so can't comment. Free parking and tuktuk to the end of the road was helpful. Unfortunately the wifi was hit and miss and would drop the connection or just stop working. There's two access points per floor and ... Read more

Its always a pleasure to stay at Solo. its out of the way of the madness in soi 4, quiet and easy to get to. I dont want to write this review as I want to keep this place a secret The rooms are very modern and beds comfortable. Cool shower and nice area around it. the room is very modern and quite spacious. My only compliant is there needs to be more tv channels. The staff are very nice too. Great rooftop bar and swimming pool.

Stayed at hotel solo for the first week of may for 3 nights. The ladies at reception were great. not the greatest english but they were all really friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. Toilet was seperate from the shower which was nice. The bed was huge and compfy as well! This was our very first night in bangkok and was pretty happy with our hotel choice. The rooftop pool is a lot smaller than what we expected but with the bangkok heat it was definetly a bonus to have a pool to cool off in! T... Read more

We spent nine enjoyable nights in this lovely boutique hotel. We booked a king room and was amazed at the size. A separate toilet and shower facility was wonderful. The shower was spacious and the shower head was fantastic. The bed very comfortable. The pool area on the ninth floor was just perfect for cooling off on a hot Bangkok day. The breakfast was sufficient and well presented. It is located down the Soi a bit but the hotel does provide a free tuk tuk service. Close to Nana Plaza BTS with ... Read more

This Hotel is located close to the station and about 30 to 45 minutes walk to the good malls, on the back of the hotel there is a bad red zone area, no the best place to be with family. The hotel staff are not friendly and helpful, they are always hiding behind the front desk on the side office. Very hard to communicate with them they don't speak english. There recommendations for dining are terrible. The breakfast its ok, room is comfortable and clean.

Not the first time visiting and definitely not the last time every time in Bangkok I must stay at this hotel. Everything from the bed to the bathroom and the swimming pool area is nice and perfect. Daily cleaning of the room is on top. Staff friendly and helpful. Close to everything and still away from the noise, couldn't ask for more while vacating.

I paid extra for a larger room which was plenty big and nice enough. The location is pretty good as well. About a 10 to 30 minute walk to good restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Most of the staff don't speak great English, and some of them do seem to hide when you want something. One exception would be the bellman. I think his name is A. Really nice guy and very helpful. Anyhow two things really bothered me. First I reserved the room for two nights, but they I guess misunderstood and ... Read more

We arrived here for our last 3 days in Bangkok using the Airport express and then the BTS. Not realising the BTS is actually quite a walk from this hotel. Luckily the tuktuk man drove past us as we were half way up the road and he asked where we were going and turns out he was Solo's shuttle service. Amazing! He gave us a lift right to the hotel. It was raining too!! The first room they gave us 502 was bad. The wardrobe has a light that comes on when you open it but the sliding door was broken... Read more

Room: big, clean, unique; separated bathroom & toilet; daily house keeping; it would be great if the TV could have more movies or channels which are suitable for foreign customers. My partner felt quite boring whenever in the room without good movies. Anyway, we have good wifi though. Free Tuk-tuk Service: Sending us to the main road, which is walking distance to Ploen Chit/ Nana BTS station. You just need to request it at the counter. We found this hotel via Agoda. It is a 4 star hotel with pretty good location. We got a big room (Deluxe). The bed was large and good to sleep on, lots of pillows also. The shower was really nice and spacious with rainfall- and normal shower heads. I see that some people say they think it was far to walk to the Main Street, we do not understand this? It took around 5 minutes to walk. The breakfast buffet was OK, nothing special. The pool on the roof was very nice, and one could order drinks on t... Read more

Smaller clean and comfy hotel. Nice place in a big big city. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The pool on top of the rooftop was a great asset to this nice little place. I would suggest taking cab to another area to eat the area around the corner from the hotel was a little bit to "red light " for us but we went out for lunch and did not feel uncomfortable but we went elsewhere for the evening and dinner.

Solo, is located in the Sukhumvit district and it is a 8 minute walk away from the Skytrain. 5 mins for a slight dilapidated shopping mall that houses a large and good supermarket on the bottom floor (essential for replenishing water) The hotel offers good sized rooms with walk in showers and fixed shower heads. The beds are large, comfortable wit extra pillows available if you need them. The toilet is of about the standard you go for anything less than premium. The hotel offers a nice roof po... Read more

Good hotel near busy Sukhumvit road. They offer a free shuttle to the main road (saves about a 5 minute walk which is nice if you have luggage). From there you have easy access to the BTS. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was satisfactory with some western and eastern options. There is a rooftop pool which is small but nice and closes at 10pm so you can go for a relaxing nighttime swim after a long day in the sun. The one downfall of the hotel is that there aren't many good restaurants i... Read more

This little property provides an idea launchpad to dive head first into all BKK has to offer, adjacent to the hustle bustle and red light hedonism of Nana plaza the room was fine, good pool, no gym! :( great shower but 0 food and beverage expertise in the hotel breakfast included but not risked, far better to head out for refuelling! And with all this on your door step would you stay in for dinner and drinks?! Wifi connection also excellent.

This small hotel is in the Soi 2 district, close to shops, vibrant street food stalls & of course, the bar district. As you are off the main road the hotel is quiet, the foyer has funky lighting at night with a small dining area. Unfortunately the menu does not offer a lot of choices so l would suggest eating out. Rooms are small but adiquate with seperated toilet from shower. Could improve on the cleaning, l had an issue with my room & when brought to the attention of the staff, this was quick... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights - rooms were clean, AC good and facilities decent. Lovely pool on rooftop which was an added bonus. Breakfast was a little disappointing, not much variety and if you had to get up early 6:00-6:30 or arrived late 9:30-10:00 there was no fruit or pancakes or egg available, limiting the choice further. They should instead change the breakfast times. Staff were super friendly and helpful whilst we were trying to plan our trip, good location too. All in all a decent stay!

Hotel was located at the heart of Sukhumvit area but it's a little deeper in the road than I expected. However, they do offer 24 hour buggy service to go out to the main road and if you are lazy to walk back, you can just give them a call and they will send the buggy out to pick you up where they drop you off. Once you're on the main road, you can walk to the nearest BTS station Phloen Chit which would take you about 5 mins or so. And Terminal 21 is just down 2 stops away or if you want to save ... The hotel catered for EXACTLY what I had hoped for several days layover in Bangkok. Quiet, clean, comfortable, good amenities and location and great staff. In particular Khun Platu was a wellspring of good tips for me on local travel, eateries, etc., and I'm indebted for this sort of staff 'going the extra mile' to ensure my stay was as wonderful as any stay in Bangkok can be. I'd recommend this establishment and plan to be back.

The location is great! 10 min walk from bts, can walk to Terminal 21 and Central world. They packed breakfast for us when we left at 5am and booked a taxi for us. We would like to come back! :)

The hotel is located approximately 7 minutes (walking) from the main road. A tuk tuk service from the hotel to the main street is offered at your request. Short walking distance to the sky train station makes it easy to get around in the city. The only negative thing was that the rooftop pool was closed due to renovations, something that was not stated in advance of the booking.
