The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to stay in-between your flights. Very close to the airport (they pick you up for free or you can have free taxi both ways if you are with Nice swimming pool and clean spacious rooms. However food is awful!!!If you want to eat nice authentic Thai food get to town it's just 5 minutes walk from the hotel(just turn left) you get to a very busy amazing street food markets and all sort of restaurants-highly recommend doing that! 140THB / 10 minute drive from airport. Very late check-in (11.45pm). Business trip and needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours rather than a bench in departures. Came in at just under 1000thb. Did the job for me, I'd actually rate as 3 stars as I wouldn't describe the hotel as 'Very Good' but 'average' is too harsh. It does the job - room was clean, shower was hot and worked, free bottled water. Aircon was noisy but I was exhausted so didn't care. Very clean, well presented bed and line... Read more

This hotel needs a good make over. Also what is mentioned on Pagoda and Trip advisot gibes you the wrong impression. The superior rooms are nothing more than a broom closet. Satelite TV is good, internet slow, but works. Breakfast is very very very basic, and the coffee is from 0:600 in the morning!. This hotel is definitiv not recommended for more than 12 hours.

After our 3-4 hour drive toward the airport for our return flight home we always stop here. Rooms, clean but basic, some mosquitos, but if you ask reception they'll spray the room to kill the beasties within a few minutes. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't stay here too long, but for a quick stop, bite to eat and a freshen up, it's perfect every time!

Stayed for one night after a long flight. Basic but didn't expect more for the cheap price which also included airport transfers, only 5 minutes away. Breakfast reasonable saying it was only 100 tbt per person. Would stay again just for a quick stopover.

Rooms are clean and prices are fair, breakfast included. Located just near Suvarnabhumi airport the hotel provides free bus. The restaurant is very nice and perfect for a last Thai dinner. Western food also available.

I wasn't expecting much, and that is what I got. This hotel is fine for a one night stopover, but I certainly wouldn't count on doing anything but sleeping. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The neighborhood was safe and close to the airport. The lights and tv.

I needed a few hours shuteye between international flights, so I chose this hotel which is a 10 minute drive from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport. It is only about 600 Baht per night, which is around 28.-AUD, quite unbelievable really. For that you get free airport transfer, a decent queen bed, and a smoking balcony. Rooms have TV, the shower is, like in many Thai homes, mounted on a wall in the toilet. The whole place is pretty clean. The aircon in our room didn't work so we were transferred to... Read more

Don't expect to much of this hotel. You must keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I payed for a cheap hotel near the airport with airco and a shower...and that's what i got. It was clean, they offered free transfert from and to the airport and they were helpfull getting the luggage to your room. For a one night stay near the airport,no bad choice at all...a good simple hotel but not a great residence.

Staff are all welcoming, the facilities are basic but work very well. I wouldn't recommend going for any longer than 2 nights as I think it's slightly over priced for what it is. Free internet which works well. We got the one way airport transfer to the hotel which was really good and is only 10/15 minutes away from the hotel. You have to go to gate 3 or 4 and that's where you will find a sign hanging on the metal rail saying 'the great residence hotel' but if you can't find it just ask at the i... Read more

With an early morning departure scheduled for my elderly sister and brother-in-law, this hotel was ideal. The rooms were perfectly adequate for a quiet night's stay. We opted for the 2 way shuttle service for our evening inbound flight and morning outbound flight. The shuttle driver was waiting for us on our inbound flight. We enjoyed dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants (walking distance) and a nightcap at the very companionable hotel bar/restaurant. An early, modest buffet breakfast (... Read more

We stayed here for one day whilst awaiting our flight leaving Bangkok at 2am. We got the room for £14 on, which was an absolute bargain. Beds were a little too form for my liking, but clean and friendly, with a small pool and towels provided. Very close to airport so convenient. Very good free wifi and air con. For £14 it was an absolute bargain and gave us somewhere to leave our things and a pool to cool off in whilst waiting for our flight.

Well for the price $22.00 Aud this was a little find we could not get a late checkout where we stayed night before leaving Bangkok. Booked in just so we could have a snooze and dinner. Room was average size but for what we paid it was ok . Free airport shuttle (bonus). Pool was clean, lots of mosquitos around as it is beside a small creek. Stayed here day before our flight is pretty average rooms smelt bad and we had to leave the bathroom door shut due to a bad smell coming from outside. The hotel has a pool but is very dirty and a restaurant on site. Wifi works in the room. Pillows are soft but beds are hard , we were woken up nearly every hour from 6am with people leaving to go to the airport. Also sounded like the cleaners were shouting outside our room. Hotel has a free shuttle which was handy.

Restaurant next to the hotel, wich was also nice. There is a shuttle bus. You get 1 ride for free per room. Otherwise u have to add only 100 bath.

I needed a place to overnight in Bkk between flights. I was not disappointed with the Great Residence. A short THB72 ride from the airport and free transfer in the morning back to the airport. Room was small and outfit is getting dated but had everything that I needed. Will use this establishment again if needed.

I'm here now with my sister for 2 nights to relax after the jungle before we head back home. Great service, restaurant a bit expensive but fits the price of the hotel and nice beds. There's a clean swimming pool and a massage service. I had a head-back-schoulder massage but it was the worst and most expensive one I got of all the massages I took. So I wouldn't recommend that service.. 6 minute drive to the airport.

I'm not one to post negative reviews so I'm going also point out the things that I thought were really good. And with a couple of little changes I think this Hotel could turn right around. Let's start with the pros - The hotel is located close to the airport (7 minutes away maybe) Once arriving in the airport, if you go over to the hotel pickup section you can see a sign for the Hotel. First time in Thailand. Had a 20 hour layover. I think it was a bad decision to look for a hotel near the airport. Nothing to see here. Should've booked a hotel in the city. Arriving late meant The traffic would be easy. I should've invested another 30 min. Hotel itself is okay for the price. Very old. No elevator. Breakfast was not bad. My stay was hampered by the fact that the airline had lost my baggage temporarily so I wasn't in the best of moods when I turned up. Even though they were expecting me they hadn't yet allocated me a room. In the end I got a twin bedded room. Reasonable size, horrendous decor. If snot green walls are your thing then go for it. We booked this hotel for 3 nights. The rooms were not clean (curtains had dubious stains and all wood work needed a wipe down) Then the electricity stopped working . Twice !! The breakfast is very poor and the dining area is filthy. When trying to complain to the manger he simply laughed. It is not cheap at £25 per night. Another case of lazy lazy management !

I book this hotel because I arrived in BKK at 1h in the morning and didn't want to go to far in taxi. Choose the Great Residence because of all the great reviews. Staff really all about getting tips. Avoid breakfast unless it's included. Everything is so far that I took it for 160 baht but everything is cold and felt like cheap buffet.
