Fantastic location, nice and polite Staff (especially reception and drivers); nice city view; tasty braekfast with big choice of dishes. Room was clean, everyday fresh towels, minibar and safe box in the room.

Walking from Bangkok Railway Station, the Grand China Princess is at the far end of Chinatown down the Yaowarat Road. We made the trek on Chinese New Year and it took rugby training to get through the crowds. The Princess was a haven of peace after the scrum session. Taking the lift up to the bar restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly Chinese manager who politely explained that because it was CNY, it was fully booked. However, when we said we just wanted a drink, he happily found a table for ... Read more

If you want a high rise hotel, this is it. Located right in the heart of Chinatown, the views from the hotel are just stunning, we were on the 19th floor and requested a balcony, which we had :) The rooms are quiet and comfy and are ok if you are travelling light, not much space to put away your clothes which was ok. We had a table and chairs on the balcony so could sit out and look at the Bangkok skyline. There was a ketlle, fridge, wifi all in the room, tv channels of all languages. We didn't... Read more

It's not the cheapest place to eat but it's not too expensive. The revolving restaurant is this place's saving grace as the views are fantastic and unique. Food is good and drinks are well made. It could be a very classy, hip place to be but the dated decor lets it down.

Despite the bad comments from some people this hotel was lovely, breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Swimming pool at the top wasn't the biggest but was clean not a lot of sun loungers but we were there to sight see. Towels exchanged daily and bedroom tidied daily. Daily newspaper delivered every morning and put under the door free of charge and two bottles of water daily and tea, coffee. Internet was ok better in lobby. Based in Chinatown so need to get tuk tuk to pub areas don't pay mor... Read more

We didn't originally book this hotel. The one we originally booked closed before our stay, so the booking website upgraded us to this hotel. We got 3 nights for 125 CAD. Out of curiosity I looked up the normal rate and it seems that 280 a night is common. It is not worth that much. The view from our balcony was the best part of the stay. Everything else was very generic about this hotel. The hotel needs upgrading, especially for the price. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly. Rooftop... Read more

Location is convenient for Chinatown exploration. Lots of good food around especially in the night. Room is of good size and clean. Shopping at the hotel itself is not expensive. No complains about this hotel and will come back to stay again.

Unfortunately, this hotel has shown its age and not so gracefully either. The carpet even in the non-smoking floor where i was billeted, reeked of cigarette smoke. Bathroom's shower/bath tub drainage was slow to drain. And am glad that I did not include a breakfast buffet in my booking since a visit to the area, with a plan of taking breakfast to save time, made me decide otherwise. Fare offered is not worth the buffet price.

Stayed 1 night here for memory sake as well as to meet a business associate with office in Chinatown area. The hotel has become dated and it is important to keep up with other modern hotels. Maintenance seems to be laxed - wires, bathroom tapes, doors, room safes. Grand China has a Starbucks on the ground floor and small retail shops. On the 5th floor of the same building is a food court. The rooms are spacious but there seems to be a stank smell from the air-con. Breakfast is fantastic - ... Read more

Just because we had to do something good around this area so kinda rush into looking for the hotel. And we got a really bad luck for booking this place. We got told the hotel was full so only question room left and we were sent to The Smoking floor Which is horrible and terribly Stinky Yunky smell ! We knew the hotel is old but didn't expecting this condition. We dragged the bag up into the room...nearly shock tho.. Couldn't breath properly coz the smell. Gotta ask for spray but they ...
