Looking for an Oasis in the hectic city of Bangkok, then Ariyasom Villa Boutique Hotel is for you. Lovely gardens surround this old villa now a boutique hotel, hard to know you are a few minutes walk to Sukumvit road and the BTS, Ploen chit station is the closest. The rooms have an old world charm with modern conveniences, service is exceptional, no need to go anywhere, just relax by the pool. I really enjoyed the restaurant Na-Aroon it is vegetarian but serves seafood and fish, just no meat.

The Ariyasomvilla in the Sukumvit District is you private refuge in the bustling, busy middle of metropolitan Bangkok. I prefer small private "boutique" hotels to the big palaces and this place was just perfect. The staff ever so attentive to all your needs and wishes; be it just getting a taxi or arranging restaurant bookings, you are always mett with a smile and a "yes we can do that" attitude. The Hotel has a pool in a lovely tropical garden and a quite excellent restaurant worth including in... Read more

Ariasomvilla is #1 in Bangkok for a reason, actually many reasons. First, the staff are pleasant and accommodating. They arranged for my wife and I to check in early and upgraded our room, and then found a different room for us to stay for a very late check out. That's not service I'm accustomed to in the U.S. Then, as many travelers have already remarked, the environment is zen and peaceful - a perfect retreat in an otherwise chaotic city. Not far from transit, the hotel is about a 10 mi... Read more

We live in Bangkok and w stayed for one night to celebrate our anniversary and just to get away into something different. The villa is nestled in the far end of a soi amongst lush greenery. We stayed in a deluxe room which is large enough to relax & unwind. The in-house spa has very strong & good masseurs at a very affordable price. The Na-Aroon restaurant serves a delicious variety of vegetarian seafood based options with no meat. Its a 600m walk from the nearest Phloen Chit BTS if you are lo... Read more

Everything was perfect. We love little hotels that ooze charm, and Ariyasomvilla has it in spades. It is a very zen and beautiful space with lovely gardens. Located at the end of Soi 1, just beyond the international Bumrungrad Hospital (most of the traffic on the soi is from the hospital), it is about a 10 minute walk to Phloen Chit (BTS station). The walk was VERY HOT when we were there last week. There are three 7-11 stores located on the Soi and we commonly ducked into each one for a 10 sec... Read more

Centrally located, and accessible from one of Bangkok elevated thoroughfares, entering the Ariyasomvilla estate, transports you to a tropical Spa resort more reminiscent of Chang Mai than Bangkok. The attention to every detail in every room gives you the feeling of being a guest a luxury mansion and does not in any way resemble a hotel room. The lush grounds, open air spa and dining areas complete the Oasis experience. As an extra bonus, the hotel kitchen servers healthy and sumptuous meal... Read more

Wonderful place to stay, located in the centre of the city but the ambiance and feel which we get when we enter the resort is like that of a different world totally covered with greeneries. Food was exquisite, never to miss the Thai spa which is available there.

Nice, peaceful atmosphere. Boutique hotel with traditional Thai architecture. Lovely pool surrounded by tropical vegetation. Vegetarian food only. A perfect place to relax at walking distance from Sukhumvit sky train and Shopping Malls.

From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with this hotel. The staff, who are all dressed in tradition Thai attire, made us feel so welcome. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed and very comfortable and we very much appreciated the plate of fruit which awaited us. In addition, FREE mineral water was provided every day! David, the owner, is ever present and always has time for a chat. It was so relaxing to return here after a hectic day's sightseeing. We cannot praise it highly enough... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights last week and fell in love with the place on arrival. Everything was great from the atmosphere to the service and the food. It was beautiful to come back here after a day of touring Bangkok and you actually forget you are in a city! We will definitely be back.

I came here for a staycation retreat, and was upgraded to the best room in the hotel. Just brilliant. Here are some highlights: 1-fantastic location - within minutes of shopping malls, clubs, restaurants etc this is a great place to be in Bangkok. So quiet, just the best for staycation reboot. 2-great decor - the original wood work from this 1942 house and detail in the decor is magnificent. Love the high ceilings, lots of natural light, the gardens are beautiful and lush. Inside the rooms th... Read more

The good: Serene little place. Great staffs. Nicely decorated room with good ambience. Excellent veggie restaurant. The bad: We had a middle room on the ground floor. The room itself was nice except the walls were probably too thin as we can quite easily hear noises from both sides of our neighbors. The ugly: entrance of the hotel is prone to get flooded quite severely, no problem if taxi is your main mode of transport.

I stayed here with my family for six nights. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who plans to visit Bangkok. The hotel staff is very friendly, professional and helpful, and the rooms are modern and clean. The location is tucked away from the noisy and chaotic streets of Bangkok and is conveniently located nearby the sky train, hospital and shopping areas.

Highly recommended and we will be back. Warm and open environment, great little place to eat downstairs and fantastic, well kept rooms. Everything about it is 'relax and recharge' for a very fair price. We stayed two nights and left very happy and ready.

Quite a tranquil, well kept boutique hotel. It's true - the noise behind the pool is noticeable and the street to get to the hotel is a bit sketchy. But not problematic. I stayed in room 204 and it was dead silent, so it may be worth asking for that side of the hotel. The service staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the location is good.

After reading many reviews on TripAdvisor, I decided to stay at this hotel. When I took a taxi to the hotel, the way to the hotel is small and flooded. Plus, while checked in, one staff (but she said she is the owner) talked very bad and very impolite to us. We had 4 small kids and wanted to stay in one room and she said she didn't allow us to stay even I pay for extra bed but if I pay for one more room which is not a connecting room, she allowed us to stay in this two rooms or in one room. Family stayed for 2 nights. This is a nice hotel...more boutique style, nice location, nice staff, designed more to be an "oasis" in an urban jungle. Owner came to us at breakfast...nice guy. Staff all very nice. Rooms were comfortable; free mini bar (nice); fast wifi. Rooms were a little weird for me. Needed a machete to fight off the landscaping to get to my kids room. No separate WC (to me super important). No real window in the room...a sort of frosted glass window in just the bat... Read more

Very comfortable hotel in a garden setting, with friendly and thoughtful staff. A few minutes from the highway that goes to the airport (so no need to sit in city traffic), not far from the SkyTrain (about 8-10 minutes?? walk, although not recommended with a lot of baggage), and close to a canal boat stop. Rooms are large, well-appointed, and nicely decorated. Good WiFi. Nice pool (big enough for some actual swimming). Good selection at breakfast.

This place is amazing. It's surrounded by a garden so when you are inside all you can hear are bird calls and water trickling. The building is a blend of classic colonial architecture with modern design. Breakfast is amazing and the eggs come from free range chickens in one of the gardens. The pool is great. The price is very reasonable considering how great the place is. I hope to one day come back!

Loved this hotel from the minute I walked in. Staff are so attentive and the decor is gorgeous. We actually arrived early from a really long flight from the uk and our room wasn't ready. However, staff gave us a spare room at no extra charge so we could shower and take a nap. We ate most nights in the hotel for dinner and the food was great - albeit expensive for veggie food and in Bangkok. I appreciate it's sourced as freshly as possible but it's still on the expensive side. This is probably ... Read more

We stayed at the Ariyasomvilla on the way home via Bangkok after having read the reviews on TripAdvisor. On the way in we had stayed at the St Regis which for slightly more $ was a very different experience. If you want 5 star, sophistication, then Ariyasomvilla is not for you. But if you want to feel homely and grounded in Bangkok, then this is the place to stay. I am in our lovely hotel room now as I write. It is simply amazing. Reviews on this sight can be so disparate so I will give a little of my background as a traveler to give a better picture of what we look for. We are a family of 4 (2 daughters 8,13). We love traveling and have done quite a bit but no repeat visits to places outside the U.S. Yet. We tend to look for authentic places as opposed to big chain hotels although we have stayed in both. In many respects we should be keeping Ariyasomvilla a secret so that it doesn't become inundated and spoilt. Unfortunately we can't do that, so let's share - a great hotel. Small and intimate, a genial mine host, friendly and helpful staff, great rooms and a fantastic restaurant - don't be put off by the claims of vegetarianism. Highly recommended on all fronts. However, there is a down side: the 580 metre walk along Soi 1 an be tedious, especially in the heat and if you have a room next to the... Read more

Ariyasom Villa is actually a historic house that was not knocked down and was saved by David and his wife who turned it in to a hotel expanding. It is right by a klong - canal - with salty water pool and jacuzzi. Our room was a garden facing one on the 3rd floor, had lovely timber flooring, huge comfy bed, a rainshower with pebbles around it and a separate bath tub. We loved the attention to detail with oil burners at each door, original art work here and there and of course flowers. This wa... Read more

We recently stayed three nights at this hotel, and it definitely lived up to its #1 status. Not only is the hotel a lovely, peaceful spot in the middle of this very busy city, but the food was phenomenal and the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful--so much so that when I left my phone behind, they managed to telephone our taxi driver and then a staff member set out on bicycle to meet us with my phone in hand. Put simply, nobody should ever regret choosing this amazing hotel!

We chose Ariyasomvilla because it was very highly rated on TripAdvisor, and we were not disappointed. The hotel feels more like a big villa, the tropical garden is a real piece of heaven, the food is excellent, and the owner dropped by our table during the first breakfast (and subsequently at every meal) and is a really nice person. We talked quite a bit, he explained the history of the hotel (which he built with his wife), and had lots of great advice for us visiting Bangkok (what to visit, wha... Read more
