It's a hotel of certain age but it maintains well and very comfortable. The location is excellent. Staffs are well trained. The facility is great. The gym facility is adequate, which is unusual for the hotels in Taipei.

The hotel is very old and needs updating and redecoration. The price for the rooms is great value with breakfast thrown in. Breakfast buffet is so so and due to large crowd (from bus loads of tourists) the quality and refills left a lot to be desired. The breakfast tables are often waiting to be cleared. The hotel overall has poor service and the front desk speaks poor English. The business is mainly from tour agencies so the lobby is always busy and crowded. What compensates is the locat... My wife & I stayed in Sunworld Dynasty Hotel Taipei for two nights in early May. We received an upgrade to a suite unit upon check-in. The room facility was a little old but functioned ok, e.g. our TV sets were CRT type, instead of flat TV. That might explain why the hotel was under improvement renovation. However, we did not hear any noise from the site work. The room had standard supply of coffee, tea, kettle. The hotel offered us free parking, one of the reason we picked this hotel. The locat... The hotel located in the heart of Taipei. Close to the station and have a it's name as a bus stop from the airport. It's large and have a well trained staff who ready for help. The breakfast is very good and have a large variety of food. As you may experienced in many large hotel, you may find it hard to get seat in the morning rush.

This hotel is well placed downtown, but doesn't deserve to be considered as a high-end hotel. Rooms are old and dirty, even with a double layer of windows, it is noisy, AC is noisy, and breakfast is awful. Definitely not a good hotel for the price

I stayed here on the executive floor, and was very pleased with the rooms and the executive lounge. The staff on this floor all speak English, and will do absolutely anything for you to make your stay perfect. Buffet breakfast is included in the lounge seperate to the main dining area the rest of the hotel uses. The staff are eager to help serve you, offering drinks and eggs made to your liking. Happy hour is included every day from 6 to 8pm, which included a range of alcohol, and food enough ... Read more

I was booked into the Sunworld Dynasty hotel as part of a tour package and I was absolutely dreading it after reading most of the negative reviews as this was my first stay in Taipei. However I found myself pleasantly surprised - from the friendly welcome at check-in to the young concierge who was able to find me a taxi efficiently. Most staff spoke English and were extremely helpful and hospitable. Being the OCD neat freak I am, I found the rooms to be clean, spacious and the beds were comfor... Read more

We stayed in a room with 2 big double beds. Each can fit 2 adults and 1 young kid. Beds were comfortable. Good and clean room. A Breeze mall is just next door. A 7-11 in the hotel's lobby. The checkin staff has good command of English and polite. Hotel is in a nice area with good restaurants nearby.

i was booked here on a 1week business trip in 2015. the elevator was nice, it had a glass part but maybe not good if you're aerophobic :P breakfast buffet was ok but not a lot of choices. the hallway was a bit too dark for me and can look kind of eerie at night. also, when people pass by my room, i can hear their chatter and footsteps, not good for light sleepers like me. room was spacious though. and bathroom was ok. i'm just not sure how clean the carpet is, it just didn't feel clean i guess.... This was my first time to Sunworld and I must say I was impressed. The rooms were ok, clean and not too small. The service was very good although there was an English issue with the majority of staff on reception at times but it could have been my bogan Aussie accent that threw them a little. The bad stuff is that it desperately needs some renovations. The roof had leaks, the decor was circa 80's and for such a large hotel, it could do with a coat of paint at least. All the transfers were h... Read more

I arrived to stay in the Sunworld Dynasty hotel. First off, I arrived and waited in line for quite a while and when I got to the desk they had some problems and made me wait for over 20 minutes before helping me check in. They asked me to wait off to the side. Bad service. Secondly, when I arrived to my room, I was shocked at how rundown it was. The hotel was probably very nice in the early 90's, but looks like it hasn't been even updated since then. The first room I got in had a VERY stro... Read more

Although Sunworld Dynasty Hotel in Taipei is an old hotel formerly known as the high-profile Asiaworld Plaza Hotel Taipei, it is still clean, and its staff are courteous and very efficient. It has a great and convenient location near the MRT's Nanjing Fuxing station. I like this comfortable and dependable hotel. Thanks for free use of desktop computer at business center for FREE!

I note that some people have made some harsh reviews of this hotel, but I take it as a find it. Reception, my check in was extremely fast and efficient as was check out. They staff were very friendly and helpful for my whole stay. There were staff by the lift and again they were welcoming and helpful and always had a smile on their face. The landing on the floor where my room was, was indeed tired and looked old. However when I got to my room I could have no complaints. It was spotless and cle... Read more

This hotel is under renovation (no noise or anything on our stay) and it's definitely required, as others have pointed out it is a little run down. However, it's still a great location and you can see the original splendour of the hotel under the years of mistreatment slowly starting to show again. However, two things I was not impressed with, basic room maintenance, our toilet seat was held on by only one hinge.... An easy fix if the hotel chose to do it. Also, the breakfast buffet, although f... Read more

We stayed on the 12th floor (Executive Club) for 5 nights in one of the suites. The room was very large and comfortable. The service was excellent (we dealt mainly with the staff on the 12th floor). We tried both the downstairs breakfast and the Executive Club breakfast and found both to be very good. The selection is less at the Executive Club, but much less people. The location of the hotel was superb as the Breeze Mall sits two doors down where there are many good stores, including Muji from ... Read more

Rooms were kind of pricey, I went while it was being remodeled. Staff was friendly. The restaurant in the hotel was average. All you can eat. Not that bad. Taiwan has always been on my bucket list so I got to go and knock it off. I live in Korea so I missed the Korean way of doing things. Definitely different. Visited a couple tourist attractions. It was amazing!

This hotel must have been lovely in its day but right now it is a western style hotel in great need of an upgrade. The upgrade is actually happening right now, so please beware there is lots of plastic wrapped around the building and jack hammers during the day, some floors are totally closed. Our first room had a horrible smell of wet carpet and the hotel was happy to move us, the next room was much cleaner but still extremely old. This hotel is situated smack in the middle of Taipei City. It is an old property (for Taiwan) and it is undergoing some renovation. We stayed in one of the upgraded rooms and it was very nice. There are some humidity small in the hallways, probably due to the fact that they have wall-to-wall carpets. The staff are friendly and courteous. Take this as a to a warning. This is probably worst ever hotel I've come across. It's centrally located. That's the only good bit. Rooms smelled musty. Toilets stinked. Dust found in every corner of room. Bed had springs poking into your ribs! Buffet breakfast - don't bother. Every staff that I spoke to tell you never to come back cos they are leaving. Not convinced ? Stay at your own risk.

I stayed at this hotel because I got a free night through a travel promotion. If this was not the case, I definitely would not have stayed here. Upon entering, the hotel looks great with a huge lobby. However, that large space has barely any place for people to sit. Both the check-in and check-out processes took longer than they should. We stayed here for two nights and only our second morning included the breakfast buffet. We asked the staff if we could switch our breakfast to the first morning... Read more

The hotel is centrally located near one of the main subway lines. There are plenty of dining options close. The room was a bit small and the A/C did not do a sufficient job of keeping the room cool and dry. It felt a little bit damp and smelled musty. The bathroom was small, with a combination bathtub/shower. The room lacked an iron or ironing board. The room was clean overall but overall seemed in need of renovation.
