This hotel was 5 star all the way. I stayed in a suite on the executive floor and could not have been more comfortable during our time in Taipei. The room offered every amenity, including shades that blocked the light and allowed us to fight off our jet-lag with comfortable sleep at any time of day. I also could not believe how attentive and kind the staff was at this hotel. Everyone spoke English or at least would find a way to communicated to help with any questions we had. The room is so interesting. Immediately upon opening, we see a big bathtub to the left of the door. This type of room is good for younger people but definitely not for 60 and above, who might have mush difficulty climbing over the bath tub. Personally, i think this hotel caters to the younger crowd. The breakfast is the best so far of all the 5-star hotels breakfast! We look forward ro our breakfast everyday! Truly an amazing stay!!!

Concierge attendants on the first floor are outstanding. They will assist with all your travel needs and make sure you know exactly you are going. Our attendant made a phone call to the airport to request a wheelchair upon our arrival to the departure area and he made sure the the taxi driver was aware of our need. It worked! Thank you!

We were looking forward to eating in "the grill restaurant featuring French cuisine at La Rotisserie?? - in fact, that was the reason we chose this hotel. However, kids not allowed in the restaurant. The hotel should clearly state this so that families with young children do not make the mistake of staying here. Despite being on the executive floor, we were also unable to use the VIP invite room, since young children are also not allowed there either. The hotel is perfect for guests who do not... Read more

The decor reminds me of an Anna Sui's dream house. It is adorned with purple and red and very romantic. The elevators have lavender scents. The room we stayed in had little romantic touches. Hotel staff are outside to get you in a taxi and tell the driver where to go if you do not speak Chinese. The location can not be better. It is next door to a mall and the Taipei main station but very quiet. It is quaint with the conveniences of a big hotel. Very convenient and very well managed.

I stayed a whole week during a business visit to Taipei and Palais de Chine provided an excellent base for our meetings. To start a good location - across the street we have the Railway Central Station and just a few steps away is the Bus Station and Metro Station. About the hotel itself - well sized rooms, comfortable beds, soundproof, usual facilities including Internet (despite some difficulties with VPN). The overall ambiance is of discrete elegance - with darker tones and some golden touch... Read more

Am surprised I cant find my review of this hotel from yrs before. Its one of the best I have stayed in Taipei (4 times or more over the years and decided to change to another recently and regretted it.) The first feeling I recall was, a small, dark and inconvenient lobby. Go to 3rd Floor for check in and everything started to change. Hotel/Room had a classy deco and I appreciate the feeling it gave me every step of the way. From the room controls to the bathroom design to the restaurant for br... Read more

This hotel is excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the environment is nice and friendly. The staff is very courteous and professional - everyone from the people on the ground floor to the lobby to housekeeping. The location is extremely ideal - it is just a short walk to the MRT and HSR stations. It would be nice if the gym had more weight training equipment.

From the minute you stepped into the hotel, you are greeted warmly by the service staff. They are very helpful and attentive. The location is superb. It's within 3-5 mins walk to Taipei Bus station and subway is 5 mins walk away. We are lucky to have a room that oversees the city view. The view is really fantastic. This hotel's decor is the opposite of minimalist. Which is not bad at all. The facilities are all fine and well built. Breakfast has the biggest spread of salad ingredients I have ever encountered. The rooms are grand and typical of Japan-incluenced Taipei. Great location for this hotel, which I think is part of a (fairly small) chain, and nice, well-kept interiors. We had a fairly short stay and were mostly out and about, so I can't say much. One thing I really want to mention, however, is this: We arrived early, and our room was not yet ready. The hotel is right beside the mall with many shops and restaurants. You can also just walk around, to go to other mall or to the train station. I like the room because it is comfy and clean. However, the shower situated with the bath tub is right beside the door of the room, which is kinda weird. And it can be really slippery. There's no privacy for the shower, just curtains. Hotel and rooms are quite small and dark but unique in style; bathtub is directly next to the hotel room' door (as bath room is openly connected to the bedroom with no door/wall separating them) so this may be quite odd to many people. Location is very convenient, connected to shopping mall, HSR station/train station/MRT station. Service is not consistent for 5 star hotel as in one occasion there was no door man (night time) and I had to open the hotel entrance door at the ground floor myself wh... Read more

I can't recall how many times I have been to Taipei. My company helped me booked Palais de Chine for the first time. I was only staying for one night so I didn't pay much attention to the hotel until I arrived. Initially, the hotel gave a very rustic and unique impression with its decor. The rooms were huge with a round bath tub. The atmosphere of the room was very earthy with alot of wood decor. It feels very calm and soothing to say the least. It has a nice balcony but unfortunately, th... Read more

I've not even stay in this hotel yet by the way but read many good reviews online. My first concern when I was considering this hotel was the "steep" price. (It was a fierce fight with hotels like Cosmos, Westgate). I'm planning a family trip and was given many conditions by family members : a decent gym, big family room, child friendly place, decent environment, easily accessible. The reservation team responded to my email queries within hours. My family was still busy comparing the hotel list ... Read more

I was booked into the hotel by a local organisation I was visiting, I usually stay at the Hyatt, by Taipei 101. I was impressed with the hotel in terms of the quality of the room and the breakfast. The staff were friendly and professional. There was no secondary curtain, so the morning light could not be blocked out, but then I was up early for business meetings. The location was ideal, next to the Q mall which had restaurants and access to the MTR, which I used as it was more efficient than tak... Read more

Centrally located and convenient if you want to travel to elsewhere in Taiwan to Taipei. We stayed here for the first and last night of our Taipei and Taitung trip. Polly Pan, the front desk lady, is pleasant and has a good memory that we have visited on the first night when we returned on our night stay in Taiwan. If you travel like us in a family, you could choose the family twin room with two double beds. Breakfast is good with a wide range of choice. Will stay here next time when I am in T... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. Room was on the executive floor. Great views across the city. Very central - close to the main train and bus stations. Room was spacious and very clean. Could not fault the staff . They were always very keen to helpp with requests or queries. Huge bath - in the room itself which may be a bit awkward if you are sharing with someone else. Separate shower room and toilet. Both room service and laundry service were efficient and reasonably priced. If you are in ... Read more

Very convenience location and when I checked it reception saw my 1 yr old girl and they prepare baby amenity for us . Variety of food in the morning , many people there seems like to be here for a meeting , a little wait for coffee. We kept our luggage at concierge and they quite nice to let us store till 5pm so we don't have to carry all to meet with friends in lunch time . Highly recommended !

I was on a one day visit to Taipei and stayed at the Palais de Chine. The rate was similar to the Sheraton just slightly less and I wanted an executive room so I could have access to the executive lounge. I had the hotel arrange a car service to pick me up and the driver was there right on time. The car was spotless and air conditioned. The driver obviously called when we were near the hotel as there was a welcoming group of staff to meet me at the curb and bring me straight to my room for check... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in October for 9 nights. I really struggle to decide how I felt about it as it has some excellent qualities but also some very poor ones so whilst my review is 'average' I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend. Starting with the positives the hotel is beautiful, staff on reception are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are enormous and absolutely stunning, beds are huge and very comfortable, the wifi, shower and location are all excellent and all in a... It is located opposite of Taipei Main Station, to Taipei Main Station, either go through the underground shopping mall or by the overhead bridge which is located near the hotel entrance. Staffs were very friendly and helpful, especially one particular counter staff, she explained, guided and helped us. 1 day before checking-in, I stored my big luggage at the hotel concierge. On the day of checking-in, my luggage was send to my room without me calling to the counter or concierge staff. Everythi... Read more

Overall, location is great. It's right next to the Taipei Main Station, and next door to Q Square mall which has good and (what appears to have) new restaurant selections on the 4th floor. The Bus Stop is also very close which is the direct drop off from the airport. The hotel itself is boutique trendy. The room is fine except the dim lighting, so not a lot of natural right. The pool and steam room is a block away (not in the hotel itself)...so we didn't end up using it. The restaurant is over... Read more

It is excellent location, best breakfast that I ever had. The staffs are extremely helpful & fiendly. I have packages that delivered to the hotel while I was away for a few days , the hotel took care of them & delivered them to my room right after I checked in. Concierge desk went out of the way to make & chnage reservation for my appointment since I didn't have easy access to a cellar phone. We look an Uber from Taoyuan international airport and it ran us around $30 USD for the 40 minute ride to our hotel located near Taipei main station. Our Uber driver was super friendly and considerate as he switched his Taiwanese pop music to American pop to help us feel more comfortable for the ride there and also recommended some places we should consider checking out. Once we've arrived at PDCH the check-in desk was located on the sixth floor. Checking in was a breeze with Polly and we didn't... Read more

My second trip to Taipei saw me staying at this very interesting hotel for a second time, again on the executive floors with their attractive benefits. I travel a lot and have never seen another hotel quite like this one. It could perhaps best be described as neo-gothic but that makes it sound like somewhere the Addams family may live and that's not quite what the Palais is all about because there is a strong sense of whimsy about the place; not dissimilar to a Tim Burton movie set. I canno... Read more

Stumbled upon this place approx 2 years ago and we've been back 3times since! We stay here at the Palais whenever we're in Taipei! Modern interiors, dim lightings and good service (ESP with their staff greetings at the lifts)! Love the huge bathtub avail in their rooms! Very convenient right next to Qsquare:) One down side is that they used to have better quality room slippers (soft and fluffy ones -not like the ones you'd usually expect to find given out complimentary in hotel rooms).... but ... Wish to stay more nights, the moment we walk into the hotel, we were stunned by the design of the Reception area (on the 6th floor), we can??t stop taking photos and selfie! Room is beautiful, the design of the room is unique but switches for lighting a litter bit confuse but is alright? we can figure it out eventually, shower design is very unique but kids may need help climbing over. I found this a very stylish and modern hotel. My room had a large desk, which was very convenient to work on. I also like the big tub. Some of the rooms only have a tub shower, and not a shower, so if you need want a walk-in shower, it may be worth asking for one when you make the reservation or check in. The workout room is small, but had everything that I needed. The hotel is just next to a large mall with many restaurants and a underground connection to various subway stops and the large trai... The facilities and designs are incredibly amazing---you will feel like walking into a castle when you enter the hotel. Also, my room is comfortable and romantic (I was amazed by the bath tub). The most wonderful thing in my room is the bed---oh, it is incredibly relaxing and comfortable. Good location. Just next to Taipei main station. Lots of eatery nearby. If you wanna take train, bus or HSR, it's just 5 mins walk. We were lucky to have an upgraded room. Automatic window shade. A two way TV which we can watch tv on bed or on sofa. The bed is very comfortable. Teas are very fragrant and nice. Shampoo and body gels are very good. There were a shower and a big bath tub for us. Highly recommended!

The hotel location is unbeatable because it's between a large mall and the main train station. You do have to go over a bridge to get to the station (which is a hassle if you have luggage) or find your way through the underground tunnels that direct you to buses, trains, etc.. (which is more difficult if you don't know Chinese and can't read the signs). Hotel is beautiful, in a classic old fashioned, dim lighting way. Although the breakfast buffet had great choices, the service was terrible when... Read more

Only giving 4 star because of decor, which is a bit over the top for me. Concierge staff is excellent and very helpful with booking train tickets and making car arrangements. Location is excellent, especially if you are planning to take the train to other destinations in Taiwan. We were also able to walk to Ximending (20 minutes) which is always fun to visit for local food (highly recommend shaved ice) and souvenir shopping.
