Before I visited this hotel, I heard that many japanese tourists stay in this hotel hence, I expected very tidy and kind service. I booked from agoda at very good price but I realized it was so cheap because the deal was only for late check-in later than 10pm. I arrived at 5 but kind staff helped me to check in at 6. Hence, I appreciated staff who helped me. However, when I checked in, i was slightly disappointed because many facilities are quite old. It is not dirty but it is tidy. However, I ... Read more

Although the room is relatively smaller than some big hotels, it is well organized with nice equipment that works perfectly without failures that used to be found in other hotels. All the equipment from furnitures to small items were found new and clean. There were many small gimmicks found everywhere that were attended with utmost care. Very nice hotel indeed ! The best hotel in Taiwan !

A bit outdated and used, but clean and well equipped. It was a definitely good bang for the buck and I didn't need anything more. Staff was very attentive and helpful, I enjoyed my breakfast with a big variety of hot food. Actually for me breakfast was best part of my stay. It was withing walking distance from a Night Market, so that was convenient for me too as well.

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. It is in a convenient location, although it is not located in the heart of the city. It is close to a number of restaurants, convenience stores, and public transit (both bus and metro). There is also a small market nearby. The gym is only mediocre (a couple of machines were not functioning properly), but it is still useful. I did not get a chance try out the restaurant located inside the hotel, because there are too many other good places. Overall... Read more

This is one of the older hotels in Taipei. I recently stayed here during a short business trip. As is customary in my reviews, here is a list of pros and cons: PROS: 1) Good value - this is probably the biggest pro. Hotels in Taipei are generally quite expensive. Imperial Hotel represents a good value in Taipei. Depending on the season and when you book, you can often find a room here via booking sites for under USD 100/night (at least when I stayed). Stayed here during a business trip in Taipei and was very impressed with the service and amenities. Breakfast was included and plenty of options for both conservative and adventurous eaters. The service of the hotel's valet parking is decent. We had a late check-in reservation(2300) but we arrived there one hour earlier and the receptionists are friendly and nice to us. We were allowed to be admitted when we got there. The room is quiet and comfortable, but the space of the bathroom is a little bit small. The neighborhood of the Hotel is quiet in the morning, and there are not many stores and shops around. A captain and crews just left when we checked in.

Had some problems with reservation and check-in, but they sorted it out. Close to MRT, good size room, well maintained, friendly staff. Bank and food mart across the street, night market a few blocks away, overall pleasant experience.

Imperial Hotel is located in the heart of Taipei. 5 minutes walk to the nearest MRT station which will connect you to the rest of the city. Qing Guang Night Market is right behind the hotel where you can get fresh fruits, inexpensive but fantastic food, you can either eat there or get it to go. Hotel staffs (front desk, bellmen and maid) are very friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond to make you feel like you're part of the family.

My husband and I arrived from Canada and stayed here for a week in November. I'm a history buff and am well aware of the interesting history of this hotel. There were some good things about the hotel and some not so good. Location--Excellent in my opinion. A short walk to the MRT, some interesting things to see in the immediate vicinity including a night market and some good eateries. Atmosphere--the interior is elegant, not so huge that you get lost. It does remind me of an elegant European ho... Read more
