Book this place for an overnight stay b4 leaving to YiLan.
Strategic location with easy access to public transport & MRT while TaiPei main station is just within walking distance. NingXia nightmarket located less than 5 mins walk which you can savor famous Taiwan street eat n access to basic necessity. 4 person female dorm is clean & comfy with good value of money.

I booked in for the double single room staying for 6 nights and was certainly not disappointed. The price was one of the cheapest there was but the location was excellent being only a short walk away from both the Shuanglian MRT Station and the local night market. I booked in for the double single room staying for 6 nights and was certainly not disappointed. The price was one of the cheapest there was but the location was excellent being only a short walk away from both the Shuanglian MRT Station and the local night market. The rooms were on the small side with barely enough room to fit in my suitcase comfortably flat down but more than adequate for our purposes. The room was equipped with two beds, a small desk with chair, lamp desk (with phone), and a small en-suite which included a sink, toilet and a separated shower. All toiletries were provided though we had brought our own. This included a pair of toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, razor, comb, shampoo and soap for the shower and the sink. There were also some knick nacks to occupy children. They also had a hotwater jug with tea and coffee as well as bottled water, replaced daily (very useful if you plan to spend the day out, which you should on a holiday). There was also a minifridge, flat screen tv with a bunch of channels (mostly in Mandarin) and free, fast wifi (At times got speeds at excess 2.5mbps, usually around 1.5 though). So there are a lot of condiments included in your room but there are some downsides. As said the rooms aren't very large so if you have a family of say 2 adult 2 children, the rooms may not be large enough to facilitate you. Also the noise from other rooms and the street are audible, especially when the other room is using the shower. This happened a few times late at night to me. The street noise is audible but is only irritating when people honk horns or make other such loud noises, kind of unavoidable when your hotel is located on a busy street. The Aircon is also loud. Also the hotel entrance is very much hard to find especially on the first time. Though after a few times you'll find it easily unless you have no sense of direction. The hotel staff at CU Hotel are very friendly and often say hello when you walk past and seem to be all the more willing to help. I'm unsure on how their English prowess is as my mum was usually the one delegating in Mandarin but she had absolutely no issues with the staff. When we left, the manager personally saw us out and into our car, even staying until we left and waving. Couldn't ask for better better staff at CU Hotel. If I travel back to Taipei I'll certainly return to CU. They have a prime location with plenty on benefits and very few negatives.

Good service / Good location - Near to night market & mrt station / Good breakfast / Bed quite comfortable, only pillow abit too hard / Quite safe as you need to passby the reception before going up to your room

Affordable, accommodating staff, lots of great food outlets nearby (more on the traditional side - which I like!). The room was modern/clean. About a 8 min walk from the closet metro exit...roughly a 2 blocks. I was happy to stay there.

Very good value. Had a room facing the main road so it could be noisy. Luckily I always travel with earplugs so I would suggest doing the same or asking for a room at the rear of the building. Breakfast is provided.
