Ambassador Hotel is a household name amongst locals and well frequent by Taiwanese tourist and businessman, we visited for the night before we jetted off home. With easy check in, within the room we were welcomed with their famous pineapple tarts. Cosy rooms and antique bathrooms, it was a good rest. Nice breakfast buffet and good pool for a fun splash, mind the lack of coverage/barricades from the street front. Hint: Speaking the local language is always useful.

I had a nice stay and a quick check in, efficient and I received a beautiful room. The english language only a small part of the staff, understands it, but this is a problem throughout Taiwan. It could be in Kaohsiung my ideal hotel but unfortunately I had an unpleasant finale.January 5 I had to check out and I went in another hotel in the city, and about nine o'clock in the evening I realized that I had forgotten a box of cigars in the minibar.I called the hotel at 9:15 pm to warn of the problem... Check-in was a breeze. Had a welcome drink which you can choose when you want it and a choice of beverage. Nice! So I went to the highest floor, sky bar with a view of the Love River and requested for a glass of local beer as my welcome drink. Then came the whole bottle of beer.... wow, I thought. Except for the Love River proximity, everything else seems to be far away. Beside the hotel is the Justice Courts with a street lined with law firms. The nearest subway is 10 minutes away by taxi... Wow wow wow. Amazing hotel with friendly staff, limited to their knowledge of english but just enough to survive. The Breakfast was sublime and the lunch fabulous. Plenty of options to choose from and there was sufficient western options bursting of flavors. Look out for the Ice Cream corner and all the toppings to choose from. Definitely something unique on offer. The room was spacious with good Wifi speeds. You could hear a pin drop in my room which is a huge plus point. Certainly a fant... Read more

Ambassador Kaohsiung is a standard four star hotel facing Love River. The rooms are nice and clean, one of our rooms is facing the river so it's really nice to look over the river at night when the light is on. Everything is up to standard however I don't feel there is a unique flair to it. On a side note, the breakfast is delightful with abundance of choices and everything is fresh.

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in Kaohsiung for 4 nights on a business trip. Check-in was quick and efficient. The English-speaking hotel staff was friendly and able to provide accurate and useful information to my questions about Kaohsiung. The room was comfortable, clean and fairly large. The bed was clean and comfortable - I was able to sleep well after a long day of travelling to Kaohsiung. I was amused to see that the hotel still used actual physical room keys. The key chains that came wi... Read more

The advantages of this place are that it is near Love River, it has its own restaurants, and it has English-speaking staff. I stayed here for a few days, checked out for the weekend as I was visiting another city, and then came back to spend a few more days. On both check-ins, I had to wait for my room as it wasn't ready. Check-in was inefficient and long and I've seen friendlier front desk staff at other hotels. The weird thing is that room prices are cheaper on travel sites like Expedia and Ag... Read more

Beautiful views and great location. This hotel has lovely rooms and very friendly staff. Terrific breakfast buffet. This is my second stay and plan on using this hotel every time I visit my friends in Kaohsiung.

The room was great, bed was comfy, and we had a view of the river. The location was good - close to the MRT and walking distance to a few places. My complaints were that the breakfast had limited western options and limited seating. Plus, I booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool, but we couldn't get in because we didn't have swim caps. This is a ridiculous rule, and one that should be advertised. I'll choose a different hotel next time.
