Travelled as a family of 4 - our room had 2 double bedrooms and a separate lounge, big and clean, however no windows. Breakfast had a good choice of Chinese and Western, including Hagen Daas! Location was ok with a few nice, small restaurants near by. Staff were friendly. Gym was basic but adequate.

Old style, elegant furniture, clean and spacious room, standard facilities, curteous and helpful service, .... conforming with the norms of the Howard Hotels. Good location, close to the Liu-he night market. Ten minutes walk to the Formosa Boulevard Station. A satistying stay.

An older style hotel in reasonable condition, the room had only 1 small window, but was okay, I used the gym which has a couple of treadmills and a cycle along with 3 or 4 fixed machines as well as some light free weights. I ate at the Hong Kong style restaurant and had a nice meal, the service was a bit erratic though. The hidden gem here is the sky lounge on the 30th floor, the views of the city are fantastic. Although not very well patronised while I was there, it is well worth visiting for t... Read more

We stayed there for one night only and it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are big and clean however a little bit old (that's why it's not 5/5 points) The staff is friendly and with workable English skills We loved the outside pool on 10th floor The best was the breakfast not too many choices but a high quality selection of Western an Asian dishes and even Häagen-Dazs ice cream :-) The location is great it's a 10min walk to the next metro station and the tourist night market and you can f... On first entering the uninspired foyer and being shown to our smoky room , I was wondering why reviews of this hotel are consistently good. However we were upgraded to a non smoky room with better view, and after a day or so we appreciated all the great things they offer. Breakfast is high quality and substantial. The pool is excellent, but closed for 3 hours over midday. Jacuzzi outdoor pool nice to relax in. Everything is solid and well made. You can't hear noise. The bellboys are very atte... Read more

A personal thanks to Victor at hotel's front desk who had shown exceptional customer service by going the extra mile to help me to check & provide timely update on the transport schedules from Kaohsiung to Taipei on D-day when the super typhoon passed through the city & all modes of transport (and I do mean ALL, incl high speed train, normal train, flights and coaches) were ALL cancelled due to the typhoon. With his help, I had managed to get the 1st coach out from Kaohsiung to Taipei (in the mi... Read more

I stayed at this hotel during my business trip and found it really good. I am a vegetarian and found great difficulty in finding good food but hotel staff understood that and provided with me some basic vegetarian food. Overall staff is very helpful and hotel is located at good place. I look forward to staying with them again. Try and get top most floor room for amazing city view.

I rapidly became ill (respiratory) in a smoky room in a "No Smoking" hotel. Surprising as "NO Smoking" is strictly applied in Australia and guests would be fined for smoking. Smoking in hotels is a serious fire hazard if people fall asleep smoking in bed - so some nervousness about hotel attitude allowing smoking in rooms.. We were upgraded to a very comfortable non smoky room. Excellent guest breakfast/ dining room; room service; roof top pool; viewing deck and late bar. No noise and very ... Read more

We chose this hotel for our family trip to Kaoshiong. The hotel has free parking for the guests who stay in, the location is closed to the Liu Her nigh market, and the Formosa metro station is nearby also, there is also a 24 hours FamilyMart convenience store in front of the hotel. We had a family room at 8th floor, the room has big windows, pity that the view is nothing special, our room faces a busy street, at least, the sound proof was excellent. The suite type room is clean, big and spaciou... Read more

I stayed for a business trip just one night. The concierge, porter and check in staff were all very nice. The wifi worked well and the breakfast choice was huge! The hotel is definitely a bit older but recently painted rooms etc and international outlet plugs kept the rooms looking tidy and clean. They are big rooms and this was the most comfortable bed I had on my whole trip. It was lovely! I can't say much about the location as it was just where I was told to stay for business, but it wa... Second stay within the last twelve months. Great value and excellent location. Wifi works great everywhere in the hotel. Swimming pool outdoor is a great addition for a nice work out. Buffet breakfast offers great selection with an excellent balance between east and west food types. Dimsum offered at the Chinese restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff makes my stay a breeze.

My first impression of the hotel was not so good. We checked in around 9:30 in the evening. The lobby was dark, empty and didn't look inviting at all. The room was spacious but showed signs of aging. Bathroom was pretty spacious too but the show stall was a little small though still adequate. The beds were comfortable, however there was only one pillow for each bed (we had a room with two single beds) and the pillow was too soft for me. I typically see two to four different pillows in this class... Read more

when I checked in, it took reception a long time to find my booking. When they found it, they told me to go to VIP reception which is a special room around the corner. To me, all the fuzz is simply stupid. I'm only here for one night for business. All I wanted was quick check in and out. Other than that, it's a standard business hotel next to big shopping mall. Not sure if it worth the price. Probably will not stay again.

My husband and I checked in at Club room and I thought foods and drinks are free at Club Lounge just like other hotels. However everything was charged except some cookies. Very limited choice of breakfast selection so I had breakfast on 5/F restaurant which a bit of noisy from kids. No doubt, breakfast on 5/F were much better. Gym and swimming pool open at 7am and too late for business traveler to work out before going to work and breakfast.

We stayed at the Howard for a special International convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was our first time in Taiwan. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The room was comfortable and the bed was so easy to sleep in. The staff above all else was EXCEPTIONAL. They were extremely attentive to our our needs and comfort. The Breakfast each morning was so delicious and we LOVED the coffee, espresso and latté maker. For 1 year we anticipated our visit to join in united association with our internati... Read more

Rooms were good, breakfast was vast and had everything, 26th floor was quiet, comfortable bed, places/stores/markets to walk to, elevators were slow for about an hour each morning, but it was priced well, Taxis easy to get.
