I booked this hotel by the great reviews on Trip advisor. We only stayed one night, but the hotel was great. We had a huge room, especially for European size hotels. Hotel was located in old time in a pedestrian only area. We had a car, so we dropped our bags and parked across the river to the nearest garage. It was a close and easy walk. Great breakfast in the morning. Excellent concierge. There was a great fondue restaurant across the pedestrian area from the hotel. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel but rooms facing out on the street and square are obnoxiously loud and lack privacy. Spending a weekend here with my wife in January we had to request a room change (to a room that needed an overhaul and was a large step down in quality) due to such a racket of loud drunks yelling through the night outside on the street that neither of us got any sleep. Windows in apartments across the small street look directly into external rooms as well. We would not stay here again with so many ... Read more

We did not have a good stay at the hotel Wellenberg. They are not really honest about de advertising in the website for which I made my reservation. There consisted that the hotel was renovated in 2015 but did not say, exactly what were the renovations or if only a few rooms were new. When we arrived, the room they put us was completely different from what I had booked. was old, the bed was unconfortable, the ceiling was very low and at night was very hot, had old and unkempt carpet and the ba... Hotel lovely much better than expected. Very easy to find from train station really clean. Lots of good bars and restaurants nearby but be carful of prices find the back streets but even those be prepared to pay much more than uk. Our evening meal at Suisse Chuchi opposite hotel Was marvellous but garlic bread, traditional raclette and curry pork, bottle of wine cost is equivalent £100. So if you prepared that's fine. Beautiful city lots to see enjoy.

We stayed in a top floor room which was quiet, modern and clean. The staff were very friendly at check in/out. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. The location was easy to find from the train station.

This hotel was chosen as it was less than a 10 minute walk from the railway station. Its just located inside the old town so be prepared to pull your suitcase over the cobbles. The room was spotless and airy. Especially liked the red / black Swiss colour scheme. Massive comfortable bed and highly professional staff. Would be very happy to stay here again due to location and quality. We were given a top floor room that was quiet but had to take care in the night so as not to bang my head on the ... Read more

Pros: well located, descent breakfast, good restaurant and bar. Cons: very small elevators. Very small and ugly bathroom, just ok room, but not well maintained. You can check the pictures. Parking not available, the closer one is 3 blocks away, if you check in or out in a rainy day there is not a roof that protect you from getting wet when get the luggage in/out the car. Overall: it does not worth the USD 450 paid per night at all! You feel cheated!! Should cost less than USD150.

This hotel was very nice and clean. The staff were very helpful and always in a pleasant mood. The location in old Town can't be beat. Its access to shops, restaurants, and the lake are second to none. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and had everything that you could want for a full breakfast. The rooms were a touch small but we'll appointed and very well kept. I would definitely recommend this hotel to leisure travelers.

Conveniently located hotel in the heart of the old town. Easy walk to the central railway station and trams. Hotel was clean and comfortable with a good selection for breakfast. As it was winter the hotel central heating was in full working order and slightly too warm. Only negative was the bar is a smoking one so we could not enjoy an evening drink as it was way too smoky.

On 3rd May after landing in Zurich with the tiredness of a long flight, was looking forward to resting in the hotel in Zurich. Except for the location in the centre of town, the thought of resting evaporated seeing the hotel facilities and the room and comforts therein. Highly over priced and disappointing

very nice and accomadating staff. we reached early morning but were immediately given one room out of 2. location is the killer. Next to Mc D, on the most happening streets with so many showrooms and coffee shops. cross the street and you reach the main river, with bus stations/ trams etc . we just loved it

We are a family of 4 (two boys, 11 and 16) and needed a one night stay before moving on into the alps. We choose the hotel because of the location and that proved to be a good decision. Perfect for old town restaurants and bars as well as the proximity to the river. Staff in reception when we arrived where not the friendliest- but better in the morning. Room was quite ok, but packed with the two extra beds. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Would come again.

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days due to his business trip. Pros: - in Old Town, very central to many restaurants and shops - great library and terrace for working - full breakfast included - great service from staff (except Olivia- she wasn't very friendly) - hold your luggage for the day - there's a fan in the room (very helpful) - decent amount of storage space Cons: - housekeeping didn't come when it said it would and the cleanup wasn't as thorough. I had to call to remind them duri... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. It's a great location - on a cobbled street in the old town - and although it's a lively area with lots of nearby places to go out, the hotel itself is a quiet and peaceful environment. The room is large, clean and tastefully furnished. The reception staff were smart, courteous and helpful, as were the waiting staff when we went for breakfast. The breakfast is worth a mention - a generous buffet with fruit, fresh bread, cheese and pastries. Great hotel, I hope to ... Read more

Reception and check-in was handled quickly and smugly by the man on reception who informed us we could park our car for CHF40 overnight in the public car park he sent us to. The hotel is in a pedestrianized area of town with no onsite parking and is quite difficult to find and access. On arriving at the room,no AC and the carpet was old and very stained which did not make us feel clean or comfortable. The bathroom was old and dated as were the towels and fittings. My mother and I stayed at the hotel for three nights. It was a great boutique hotel located in the heart of old town. There are plenty of restaurants surrounding the hotel, shopping and transport. Great location. Helpful staff. But here it is: no parking and as advertise available. It is several blocks away and about $50 a day not assertable for a four stat and no valet parking nether. Also the bathroom was disgusting and old paint pealing everywhere.... No AC on a four star in Zurich for the price ... Not acceptable

We were a couple and mother in law sharing a room. Firstly the room was big enough to accommodate is. Kudos to the hotel for allowing 3 adults to share a room where other hotels did not. The hotel DOES NOT have air-con which when the weather is around 30 degree Celsius was very uncomfortable. The room had a very basic clean every day - glasses and linen were not replaced for the 3 nights we stayed there. Toilets are clean enough but we expected better for a 4-star hotel. Staff are a mixed bag. S... Read more

I was recommend this hotel by friends The good: a nice hotel situated in the old part of Zurich situated on a square. The staff were super friendly. The breakfast room, partly outdoors was great. The second floor reading room was very nice and well decorated The bad: the room was impersonal and felt a little like an airport hotel, it was a fair size , but beware ,no air conditioning The ugly: with Europe in the middle of a brutal heat wave ,My room was unbearably hot keeping me up all night ... At 33 degrees outside, no air conditioning available. Only two rooms in the hotel have this exquisite luxury! While this was already a bad start, it got worse since there was a intense rotten smell inside the room that only got exacerbated by the heat. If you must stay there, insist on aircon, but our recommendation is staying at another place. The reaction of the management was unprofessional neglect at best, or rather contempt for their customers.

We really enjoyed out stay at the Hotel Wellenberg. We had a lovely good sized room overlooking Neumarktstrasse. The bed was large and very comfortable with a huge television and good lighting. We were 2 couples (brother and sister with partners). We chose a shared room but found our assigned room a lot smaller than we anticipated. Even for one couple I would consider the room modest in size. Would suit a couple travelling with young children. However the room, as was the hotel, was clean and fresh with pleasant modern decor in an historic building in a charming part of town. The breakfasts were generous and the coffees in the morning large and served in warmed cups. There was a partic... Read more

Right in the heart of the lovely Old Town area of Zurich; surrounded by bars and cafes, and a short stroll to the River. Modernised very nicely, with clean and comfortable rooms, nice beds and bathrooms. Expect to pay about 300 Swiss Francs per couple per night, including a good breakfast. Really charming staff; made to feel welcome. Word of caution: not all rooms have A/C, and those that do have noisy mobile units. We last stayed here in 2014 and requested the same room this time. In 2014 we noted that the bathroom was due for a makeover but it still hasn't been done. However, the rest of the room and the remainder of the hotel was OK. We lost a couple of nights sleep due to noise outside between 1100 and 0200. After complaining we had no further problem, the noise was thought to have been made by kitchen cleaners. We did get three telephone calls which were not intended for our room, one at 0530 in the mo... Read more
