Zurich is expensive and that is no secret. Nevertheless, the Glockenhof was one of the very few hotels in the centre of Zurich, where we could get one room for a family of four, without having to pay a fortune. So yes, it was not a budget hotel but it was definitely the most flexible place offering us the best value for money, after having made an extensive search. If there is one thing one can say about Glockenhof is that it is ideally located if you want to see Zurich. A few (not more than 10... Read more

Had a nice afternoon with friends in the City and this place is more than worth to stay for a nice weekend. City Centre accross and nice places right next to it. Eating at the Restaurant and having a drink in the lobby. Nice people at front desk indeed. The Shopping Area starts accross the road and Jermoli is just oposite from the entrance. Best recommendation for a good sray in the City

Everybody was telling me that Zurich was expensive and that if I take a room under 250? per night there will be high chances I finish in a dodgy place. On that, they either were wrong or I get really lucky. Comfortable bed, relaxing design room and really great barhroom (I have a thing with bathroom...). Location is great as it is close to shopping area and the central station. I walked it to the lake too. Staff is professional, welcoming and smiling. Breakfast is good (Swiss cheese is a v... Great hotel bang in the middle of Zurich. Very close to the main train station, so easy to get to. The lake and the old town are both just a 10 min walk. Hotel is very good value for Zurich. The room wasn't huge, but it was very nice, and included a hi tech TV & a Nespresso machine. You also receive a voucher for a drink at the bar which is a nice touch. Bizarrely, they won't let you have an iron on the room after 10pm

Stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of May 2016 for a business trip. The hotel was great in all aspects : the service, the room, very clean. The breakfast is nice, and the best part is the location , few steps from the middle of banhofstrasse. If I will be back to Zurich I will definitely come back.

The Glockenhof pays attention to all the small but important details. The staff is friendly and want to make your stay as satisfying as possible. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. We will reccommend this hotel & hope to stay again.(Maria - from Canada)

We were in Zurich for a family reunion and stayed at the Glockenhof Hotel. The hotel is in a great location and the accommodations are modern and clean. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had in Europe. The hotel also has nice restaurant facilities with outside, casual and more upscale dining. Front desk staff was very helpful with airport pickup and drop off arrangements which was appreciated. I would stay at the Glockenhof again without hesitation.

After many other hotels tries, this hotel became my go to place. Excellent spacious rooms, very good service, very good breakfast and they even upgraded the free internet that was slow in the past to a very good wifi service. In a very pricey Zurich, although not cheap, the cost is justifiable. Very much recommended.

The Hotel is lovely, staff is friendly and the room was clean and well equipped, also with a great coffee machine. I had to ask for an upgrade because all "normal" single rooms look out on the street side and I wanted a quite room. Wifi was rather weak! Although I'm very satisfied with the hotel I find the price-quality very far fetched. The hotel does not have the entourage and luxury one would expect in this price range.

The location of the hotel is great, very close the the old town. The room I had was quiet small, the furniture was modest, nothing fancy. Although the room was on the street front it was not noisy. There is no gym which is big minus. The breakfast was below the Swiss standards. It is the main reason of the rating I gave. The personnel was kind and helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The room was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable for a family of four. It was light and airy with lovely high ceilings and we never felt cramped. The staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. We had a very early arrival and were able to go into our room within a couple of hours. We were given a complimentary drinks voucher while we waited which was very kind. Breakfast was quite adequate with a variety of offerings including hot, cold, sweet and s... Read more

central location , and if you like vegetarian food , opposite the hotel waits the best alternative , Hiltl veggie resteraunt . The rooms are nice , modern , well equipped , clean , service is good , breakfast buffet reasonable . The bar has character . But don't expect any deals , the same room in Germany would cost less than half !.

We stayed for two nights and are really impressed- check in staff efficient and friendly, rooms modern, spacious and clean, crisp white linen. The best breakfast I had in Europe so far. Conveniently located between train station and lake. Loved everything and will definitely return if I come to Zurich again.

I've stayed here before and it's a great hotel; chic and well-run. For some reason though, room 304 is incredibly noisy. I don't know whether it's beneath a staff area, but banging and dragging noises went on through the night, accompanied by noise from the elevators. It's 7am right now and the noise is continuous. I was so exhausted after a delayed flight that it didn't keep me awake, but if you're a light sleeper beware! Bathrooms also have bizarre windows in them, so if you're traveling wi... Read more

The room is modern. A low bed with a couple of not very convincing pillows. The bathroom is a sectioned off part of the room. Walk in shower means water everywhere. It's a lot of room packed into a small space. All the usual stuff, phone, safe, tv (loads of international channels) . It's functional. Lacks character. The hotel looks more old fashioned downstairs by the reception and the breakfast room and there is no air con in there. Breakfast on the morning I stayed there was hot and humid... Read more

Great location in the center of Zurich, just arount the corner from Bahnhofstrasse. Our room was very nice, with view of the countryard. We had a very good espresso machine in our room and a wall of outlets for different countries. The room was very clean and the staff is outstanding. We had dinner in the garden's restaurant and the food was very good. All in all we had an outstanding experiance and we recommend this hotel. We will be back....

Breakfast is good ( for European standards)-Not many selections but fresh. Would definitely consider this hotel again on my next visit.

When we booked we had mentioned that it was our first trip as newlyweds. In our room they had put roses and created a heart on the bed! Beautiful and very nice of them! The room was very large and of good standard! Bed comfortable. The only real downside with the room was the glass doors to the bathroom. This seems to be trendy in hotels nowadays. It's very central, clean, quiet but not especially good value. Not much atmosphere, unless the jazz in the courtyard is something you enjoy (when it is available). Decent discount offered if dining in the restaurant which is OK. Rooms very clean, well equipped, reasonably spacious. Lovely hotel, well decorated and furnished and lovely breakfasts. However....if you are staying on a Friday or Sat night get a room overlooking the garden as it is very very noisy for the rooms near the road! I am used to city noises eg people leaving bars and clubs late at night but Zurich seems to have a problem with boys and their toys ( ie of the vehicular variety) screeching/racing round and round the streets until 4.30 am. We spoke to the hotel staff who were sympathetic but say that they ... Read more

Spend 3 nights at this hotel. Actually everything is in the average standard. May be not a 4* but 3 and half. Crew is friendly. It is may be a bit expensive for the quality even if the room was clean and confortable. Actually it is not excellent and not bad. It is just an hotel in the average quality. So the only criteria is the price you can get for the rooms.
