Everything was perfect, the brunch and the hospitality. The shuttle picked us up at the train station and brought us to the ski station on the day after. Our ski equipment was taken cared of from our arrival on. Super service

Stayed here with a group of my customers in April. Hotel's location is the best in Zermatt.. And it is a very beautiful property. Rooms are amazing; nothing can beat the morning view of the mountains! It is indeed very breathtaking.. However, I find one of the concierge staffs very very patronising! He speaks with a very condescending tone; something that I really do not appreciate. In addition, one of my guests had an unpleasant experience during an afternoon break session as well. Stunning location and facilities but a little formal for our taste. Jackets for dinner is and black tie over Christmas New Year when skiing is not our casual relaxed approach but understandable and very nice. We have stayed several time a keep returning which say a great deal about the quality service and facilities.

Flying by the seat of our pants and found accommodations at this hotel. Awesome hotel in the middle of town and close to everything. The weather was fantastic. Took the train to the top of the mountain. What a sight. We were lucky, according to some locals. We could not ask for better. Hotel is great. Food great. Rate was great. We must try it during ski season which is what we wanted to do. Maybe next time.

This hotel is perfectly situated in Zermatt with an excellent view of the Matterhof and central access to multiple hiking trails. But the jewel in its crown is the staff - in particular the concierge staff, which recommended hikes, gave impeccable directions, and offered excellent restaurant suggestions.

Centrally located in Zermatt with views of the Matterhorn during breakfast, lunch and dinner! In Zermatt - what more could you ask for? There is more - the staff! Before we entered the hotel we were greeted with the most gracious welcome. The hospitality, cleanliness, location, beautiful room and Matterhorn views will be the highlight of our European vacation. The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is a must stay!

We lucked out..and had picture perfect weather in Zermatt. The Hotel Zermatterhof is located in the town village, with perfect views of the Matterhorn- we paid extra for the view, and it was worth the up-charge! Rooms were spacious and clean- could use a little updating with regards to the furniture - but the layout was delightful, with balconies to relax on - and see the Matterhorn. Breakfast is the morning was lovely, nice variety, and the staff were attentive and very pleasant. The concierg... Read more

I just stayed there, and the hotel is tremendous -- THE place to stay in Zermatt. The property is 5 star, but what really stands out is the incredible staff. So friendly, and so helpful. The breakfast is incredible, too! Stay here; you'll be glad you did!

I hoped this would be a wonderful hotel as I had been there many years earlier and had fond memories. This time our family included two teenagers. Located in the heart of Zermatt, the Zermatterhof was better than anything we could have imagined! The concierge (Johan) was fantastic. He always had creative ideas and helped us plan our stay to optimize the weather, the sights, and the food. We had two suites (second floor) overlooking the Matterhorn (upgrades). They were spectacular. Let me say tha... Read more

From the minute we walked in, we were treated like family. Sven, Melanie, Johan...every person we encountered was charming, professional, creative, helpful. Without being at all obsequious, they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Everyone we met seemed to fully enjoy what he or she was doing. The rooms are comfortable, not overdone. The bathroom--too small--was the only disappointment. I've travelled all over the world and stayed in all kinds of hotels and never had a better b... Read more

This historical hotel (one of the first to be built in Zermatt) is stunning! Stayed there for business and the staff at the front desk was superb (specifically Katarina and Nicole) and answered all my questions, offering fantastic dining recommendations nearby as well. Their mountain-facing rooms with balconies offer unparalleled views of the mighty Matterhorn, and their breakfast is delicious (try the mini pancakes off the menu!). Excellent property.

This hotel is amazing! The location is in the heart of town- very easy to find and explore from- sits next to a grand old cathedral- they have a lovely outdoor lounge- plenty of comfortable seating- you can sit for hours and watch the town go by! They have a horse drawn carriage that will pick you up from the only train station in town and deliver you to the door! Also, the carriage will take you back to the station when you depart! Grand is one of the best hotel of Zermat. It's very near to the station and in the heart of the market area. Therefore location wise we just loved it. The room's carpet looks old and the bathroom is small but the most helpful and courteous attitude of the staff outshines every other drawbacks. This is the only hotel where we got as much free drinking water as we needed.

We stayed 2 nights at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof and had a good overall stay. It's located in the heart of town and is a close walk to everything. They will send a horse and carriage to the train station for you or you can just walk. The staff are super friendly and accommodating and the lobby is relaxed and nice. The rooms are good with fantastic views of the Matterhorn if you get on the front side. It's an old hotel so there is a lot of history but also the minus of no air conditioning. It w... Read more

okay, I never stayed, I just walk by whenever I'm in Zermatt and which I HAD... It's the perfect grand hotel in the perfect location. It normally 450-600 a night, which is too rich for my blood, but there are lower prices from time to time. If you can find it at 350 or less, don't even think about it, it's the grandest hotel in Zermatt...

Where should I start. We arrived at the train station in Zermatt, as promised a shuttle bus was waiting for us. (No horse and carriage because it was raining) No problem. The young lady that met us at the station made us feel extremely welcomed to Zermatt. I knew from that point we were in for a fantastic stay. Arrived at the hotel and was met by Katerina waiting for us outside the hotel. Another wonderful welcome. It gets only better. We were upgraded to a suite with 2 balconies (room 115). We ... We ended up having a light snack and then took a tour of the city. When the room was ready several of us went to the indoor pool with a hot tub and waterfall. Very relaxing. We stayed for 7 days at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. We found our room to be cozy and in a great location. We had a wonderful view of the Matterhorn from our corner room with a nice little balcony where we could sit and look at the view. One thing we did not like about being on the front side of the hotel is that we were frequently awakened in the night by noise outside our room, as it was necessary to keep the windows open to allow the cool breeze in. To be able to spend some nights at this wonderful hotel is really magic. You truly believe you arrived in a different world. Just a few highlights: From the balcony of our spacious room the Matterhorn is just in front. The outdoor restaurant, the indoor breakfast room in a very special room with a glass ceiling and above all the outstanding ever present staff who really try very hard to make you feel comfortable are some of the experiences we will not forget for a very long time!

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location. We had a very large, comfortable room with a view of the Matterhorn. Breakfast was really good with a great variety of food. We also enjoyed drinks on the terrace and the restaurant was also very good for dinner. Everybody at the front desk is so helpful and nice. They recommended enjoyable excursions for us. My family of five recently spent two nights at Grand Hotel Zermatterhof and truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed but what made our stay so memorable was the exceptional staff members at the front desk, concierge, restaurant and transportation. We have enjoyed many an evening at this hotel eating and have had no reason to complain. However last night we ate in the Brasserie style restaurant at the front of the building and had cause to complain.
