We arrived in Zermatt only to find a horse carriage waiting to pick up us next to the train station, this set the tone for our experience at this awesome hotel in the Swiss Alps. The property is situated at the end of the main shopping street (which stretches from the train station to the Zermatterhof - a 10 min walk in total). It looks quite grand and classical from the outside, elegant and beautiful form the inside. The ladies at the check-in counter were super helpful and even upgraded us t... Read more

I am writing this review on behalf of a family who just visited Zermatt and stayed at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhoff. I worked with the concierge on many occasions to book this trip for the family and my personal experience was great. Everyone was extremely responsive and went above and beyond to help. The family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and in their words, "You would be hard pressed to find a nicer hotel. The staff will go to great lengths for their guests, one person who stands out in par... I am currently staying in this hotel for a skiing trip December 2016 and I have to say the location is great... middle of town with excellent views. Service is OK but not close to the high end 5 star hotels in the Alps like Riffle Alp hotel in Zermatt. The food is not good and I seriously hope they improve it especially in Brasseirre Luci the main hotel restaurant, although the breakfast selection is excellent. For a value price this is a good hotel but certainly not high end Alps 5 stars.

One of the best hotel stays I have ever had. We came here for my girlfriends birthday and was absolutely blown away by the standard of the hotel. We had a pick up from the train station and were greeted warmly by our driver. On check in we got an upgrade which was greatly appreciated. We arrived pretty early in the day so our room was not ready but we got free welcome drinks in the hotel while we waited. Once again the staff were super friendly and made us feel at ease in the 5 star surroundings... Read more

If you have a car you have to park in TASCH and take the 15 minute train ride to Zermatt. I called the hotel from the Tasch train station and told them I would be at the Zermatt station in a few minutes and they met us and took us to the hotel in an electric cart. The hotel is beautiful and the room we had (#307) looked out onto the plaza in front of the hotel. The next morning the sky was clear and we had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. We took the gondola to the top station and by the t... Read more

This property exceeded my expectations in every way. It was extremely well-maintained, had a great pool, and the sight of the Matterhorn through the glass ceiling of the breakfast hall must be seen to be believed!

We have enjoyed many an evening at this hotel eating and have had no reason to complain. However last night we ate in the Brasserie style restaurant at the front of the building and had cause to complain. We had amazing Gin and Tonics followed by jolly nice soups and duck fois gras starters. We all then ordered the cheese burgers at 28 Swiss Francs each. What an enormous disappointment! Tiny over cooked pieces of dried up burger with the thinnest, smallest piece of cheese imaginable hidden in a... Read more
