My family and I stayed in this hotel twice during our holiday in Luzern. The hotel is quaint, and the restaurant is small. However, the rooms are clean and the staff is welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the main train station, and the old town. You can reach many attractions using the bus from the nearby bus stop.

We were walk ins without any reservations. Prices were reasonable and parking was convenient. Located right across the street from the train station Check in desk staff were awesome. Rooms were so clean and nicely decorated. Bar was convenient and the breakfast included was delicious ! Very quiet place also.

Very good location. Close to train station and walking distance to the lake and the Chapel bridge. Also very close to restaurants. The hotel itself is nice, clean and comfortable, the food is good and the staff are helpful. There is also a fast food restaurant right opposite the hotel and a nearby Thai restaurant which is really good and also very convenient.

Cascada Hotel is a modern hotel by European standards. The outside looks quaint but the inside has very modern furnishings. Unfortunately we were not given a room that overlooks the mountains. However the room itself is sufficiently large for 3 people, with all the amenities you need, such as toiletries, safety deposit, hairdryer, coffee and tea etc. There was also free wifi throughout the rooms. You can pre-select the drinks that you like, and some of the drinks will be provided free of charge ... Read more

Location is excellent. Just minutes from the train, boats and bus station. No noise from the trains. Our room, 602, had a balcony and a view of Rigi and Titlis. The room was so well laid out. Bedside shelves at the right height. Light switches at the right place. Shower the full length of the wall. Showers that were easy to work even with no glasses on. Storage space in bathroom. A mirror in the bedroom that folded up and down so it could be put down to make a table, put up to let you pu... Read more

Great hotel and great friendly staff. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the station. The staff had arranged our room as per our request and also gave very good suggestion at check in. They were also helpful in providing tickets for excursion to Pilatus. I will definately recommend this hotel to others. The only thing that we did not enjoy was the small windows and the view but apart from that we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is also excellent! Best Muesli and Yogurt we had in Switzerland

Hotel situated about a 10 minute leisurely walk from both the station and the lake. Our room was well appointed but not particularly large for a prolonged stay. A nice hotel always makes your visit a memorable one. And if I may add, some unique features about a hotel ensure that you remember and recommend them to others forever. This hotel is one such example - for they care about their guests by ensuring FREE non-alcoholic BEVERAGES in the room's mini-bar!! I have stayed in hotels across the world and am yet to come across such a fantastic idea. Especially when you have a thirsty kid in tow and dont know where to get the next bottle of orange juice!! We stayed here for 5 nights as part of a large conference delegation with partners participating in an excursion program. The best things are: very friendly staff where everything is done with a smile; good breakfasts; good air conditioning in rooms; free minibar with soft drinks; tea and coffee making in room; Some rooms were quite small. Location is OK as just a ten minute walk from railway station and lake.

I booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and I would have to say it's the first time I've been somewhat disappointed by following TA's recommendations. There were pro's and con's to our stay and I will try to be fair and measured in my assessment... Pro's: The room we upgraded to (at a rather steep additional fee) was roomy - much bigger than we needed. It was designated as a family room with a king sized bed, sitting area and good sized bathroom. This room was recommended to us b... Read more

Booked this hotel based on fantastic reviews I've seen. I guess my expectations were very high! The hotel was walking distance from the Lucerne train station, probably took us 7 - 8 minutes with our bags. Check-in was quick, with the receptionist offering an upgrade, at a cost of course. I politely declined the same. Like almost all European hotels I've visited, the staff is minimal, just to keep the hotel functional. Pls don't expect anyone to help you with your bags here. The hotel has 7 floors and all have been renovated. The 7th floor was completed recently. We were on the 6th floor. The restaurant is closing for 10 weeks for renovations. Hotel Cascada is located within a ten minute walk from the Lucerne train station. We booked this hotel expecting a four star but don't feel like this hotel is more than three stars. Bonus points for the air conditioning and staff, definite minus on the fact that there were unclean items in the room upon check in. The room was satisfactory for a family traveling throughout Europe and it was perfectly located- tucked away in a much less touristy area of Luzern. I don't know what qualifies a hotel to be 4 stars under Swiss rules. Anyway, the Cascada calls itself a business friendly hotel. And maybe it is. There is Wi-Fi, a lobby computer, and a stack of daily newspapers in the breakfast room each morning. But I'm not certain that tallies to 4 stars. The complimentary drinks in the minibar were a nice perk to have when we arrived and after a day of hiking. The breakfast buffet with nice choices. The staff was very helpful. The only thing was the restaurant on the first floor was undergoing remodeling so there was construction and some crowding on the makeshift breakfast buffet on the 1st floor. That will be fine is he'd by Sept... Read more

I liked this hotel and would happily stay there again. My room had a decent amount of space and, though not particularly cosy, had a lovely view of Mount Pilatus from the balcony. The bathroom was very nice, a high-pressure shower blasting away the cobwebs very effectively in the morning! An extra plus is the Japanese style bidet/toilet that can put a jet of lovely warm water just where you need it! I love those toilets! The breakfast was ok with plenty of variety. The boiled eggs were very much... Read more

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The staff are friendly and do speak english. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower is wonderful with hot water. The sink gives ice cold drinking water. The breakfast is delicious, plenty to choose.

Well situated hotel. 2 minute walk to closest tram stop. Room was clean and comfortable. I personally liked that there was a channel list for the tv so I could get to the channels in English without flipping through dozens of other channels. Breakfast was good. Only downside was that the bathroom is really small.

We stayed at the Cascade for three night in August. The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff were amazing, very helpful with dining suggestions and always smiling and cheerful. The included buffet breakfast was very good with a nice selection. We were staying with a group of friends, all at this hotel and all were very happy with the Cascade. Location was very convenient for the rail station and for sightseeing in general. I would certainly stay at the Cascade again.

Everything about our stay at Hotel Cascada was just amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was great. The location was pretty central, only a quick walk to the central train station and the river, and even walking all the way to the Löwendenkmal which is sort of on the opposite side of town was only about a 15-20 minute walk (and a nice one at that!). I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lucerne.

We stayed for 5 days at the hotel The restaurant was under renovation but it was a short walk to good quality restaurants. The Hotel is modern and the rooms were well set-out and comfortable. We stayed on Level 5 and views from the hotel are restricted regardless of which floor you are on. Our sleep was undisturbed and the bed comfortable and we had a small balcony with a view of the local neighbourhood. Still, the hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the old city and in a relatively quiet ... Read more

Had a great stay at the hotel since 12/9-15/9. The hotel is around 8 mins from train station (but no worries flat road hence easy to walk with luggages). We were upgraded (maybe as I informed we are celebrating our anniversary) and stayed at level 5. Room and toilet size was sufficient for 2 persons plus luggages and the staff even decorated the bed for us. Sweet touches even though this is our first time staying (most hotels usually do so for repeated guests). We love the hotel breakfast- eg... Read more

This hotel was WONDERFUL. It is a short walk from the train station. You walk back to the train station and over the water to hit old town. A/C in the rooms, fruit juice and water free from the mini-bar, breakfast includes made-to-order omelets as well as standard Swiss breakfast fair. The staff was very helpful, the coffee is great, A/C in the rooms. It was a wonderful home base for us while we explored Lucerne, including getting rained out of our planned trip to Mt. Pilatus. Staff is quite warm and helping, they offer free bike to roam in the city which was the highlight for us as its a good way of exploring the city. Good location and great value for money. Highly recommend for a comfortable and good stay.

My parents and I chosen Cascada Hotel due to its proximity to Lucerne Train Station and other must-do attractions e.g. Chapel Bridge. Some restaurant are just near by which makes it easy for us to hunt for food during a rainy stay. Breakfast is perfect. They served guests orange puree as a start for breakfast. Fried eggs are freshly made to order as well. They have rice for breakfast which suits the asian travellers as well. Rooms are not huge, but well equipped. The hotel contacted us in advan... We recently returned from our 1st trip to Switzerland which began in Luzern with a 2 night stay at Cascada. In a word, terrific. Would not hesitate to book there again. ALL the staff were professional, courteous, attentive, helpful, and friendly. The best part was the breakfast buffet--GREAT! The rest is mediocre at best--a bed that sagged in the middle, a shower that was only 1/3 enclosed so the water went everywhere, snooty front desk personnel, very near the train station so there was CONSTANT train noise, and very overpriced for what we received. Book elsewhere.

Our previous stop was in an aging hotel in the middle of old Town innsbruck. We took the train from there and we walked down the sidewalk to Cascada. Yes it is by the train station but it was great for us coming and going on the train. The rooms were modern and the breakfast is fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you!

On the way home from Venice by train - had stayed in the delightful SQ Dante in Lugano the night before and had a relaxing day on the train through the Alps and the paddle steamer up the lake. Then we got to the Cascada - a different world. Very unfriendly reception snapping at us to hand over passports and sign forms, no offer of help with baggage.
