Stayed here for work and for the Marathon weekend. You really can't beat the location, right across from Anglais Park. Room was clean, nice amount of English channels on tv and a nice but small fitness center. Concierge extremely helpful and pleasant, even stayed with me to make sure the taxi picked me up to get to the airport since most of the roads were closed for the marathon. As for the room, I thought it was very tiny, and I visit Paris often where they are famous for the tiny rooms. I had ... Read more

Short business trip, chose this hotel because of location. Staff were excellent--friendly and efficient. Wifi was perfect. My room was DEAD QUIET, which is pretty much the most important thing to me on a business trip, so I got a great night's sleep. I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars because the bathroom was pretty abysmal and the room small, which I wouldn't mind but at CHF475/night didn't strike me as good value. But I will likely stay here next time I'm in Geneva.

I stayed here for the Geneva Marathon due to how close it was to the finish line. Had a great few days. Rooms were clean and elegant, and big by European standards. Room had a variety of tv channels in a variety of languages (was nice not to have to watch only CNN if I wanted English!). Rooms also had free bottled water and coffee machine. Bathroom was huge. Public transport and shopping were close by. Avoid the roof top bar though. It is actually tiny and every time I attempted to go up there e... Read more

I can't say enough good things about Swissotel Metropole! It exceeded my expectations and more. Historic building, centrally located with a view of the lake, this hotel has everything you could possibly want during your visit in Geneva. When my husband, 8 month old baby and I arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff. They took care of our luggage and buggy as we went to get checked. Upon arriving the hotel general manager Stephen greeted us and treated us as if we were long time friends. We... Read more

Stayed here for the second time and love the location and the hotel, staff very friendly and helpful - BUT bar needs more staff as gets very busy and service becomes slow and staff seem pushed to the limit. Breakfast service needs great improvement, plenty of staff just seem unorganised. Lack of management overseeing that things are run efficiently. I had to ask for fruit bowls to be replenished two mornings running and took ages to refill - totally empty bowls. Tea and coffee orders are slow to... Read more

I stayed at the lakeside room for close to 2 weeks. The room is big, spacious & very funky. Absolutely loved the tv in the mirror. The rooms are very well insulated & quiet. The housekeeping team is fabulous & so are the reception & concierge teams. One thing I must say - the staff is great at the Swissotel. The location is great - literally 1 street away from the shops, cafes & restaurant - 5 mins away from the old quarters & museums. The vibe of the area is good - very upmarket. The bus stop i... Making your stay predictable might be the mission of this deluxe hotel ideally located on the Rive Gauche or the Left Bank of Geneva. I have stayed here a number of times before (always staying in a city view room: 4 rating) - so when you get a nice unpredictable surprise - an upgrade to a spacious room 425 (fantastic view over the lake and near the gym) that made this rating 'excellent'. Why stay here - good location (agree that busy road in front of hotel means you would not want to open win... Read more

I stayed one night at the Swissotel Metropole Geneva for business, and it exceeded expectations in all respects. I selected it primarily based on its ideal location in Central Geneva, just across from the Lake and the Jet d'Eau. The attentive service is the first thing you immediately notice on arrival - valets meet you and help you navigate the busy street and parking in front of the hotel, everyone quickly learns your name, and they even met me with a towel and water bottle after my morning ... I stayed one night in a lakeside view suite on the 3rd floor and all the services & amenities here were impeccable. I was on the third floor and still had a nice view looking over the Jardin Anglais and of course the mesmerizing Jet d'Eau. The room is relatively small but the modern updates and amenities make the room feel cozy than its actual square feet space. You can control all the lights and blinds and TV from the comfort of your bed with a remote. By far the best feature of this hotel is t... Read more

Excellent view (i.e. rooms with) are grossly overpriced. The hotel has both entrances with elevation (i.e. if you want to slide in unattended it is inconvenient, or if you carry very heavy luggage- of course it can be carried for you). My room was not for a 430 euros european standard. Dark, underlie, lacking lounges and such facilities. Breakfast is abundant and the terraced restaurant is attractive, facing the Prada outlet. The location is appropriate for the commercial, centre, Eaux Vives... Read more

The rooms are ultra modern to a fault and very small. The prices are extraordinarily high reflecting the location and that it is a luxury hotel. We had an ostensibly lake view room but the trees in the Jardin Anglais across the street basically blocked the view of the lake. Breakfast is expensive but you can save some money if you book it when booking your room. It is not going to be manged by Swissotel after July 1 and it remains to be seen what impact that has.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The location is the best on route de rhone and looking at the lake. The service and concierge is perfect. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. You really feel like you are taken care of when you are staying.

During my stay in this hotel the management changed. I checked in at swissotel and checked out at metropolitan hotel. Beyond the management change which I won't comment because I didn't stay enough to feel any change , I would like to praise the staff. The staff (all of them) at Swiss hotel is what is going to make the hotel successful beyond the management change. I felt at all times welcome and my little daughter was specially taken care of. The room was really great, we had an amazing view of the lake ( I would definitely recommend the lake view room) and the service was flawless. We had a slight issue with the TV in our room but it was fixed quickly and without any problems. The staff were professional without being stuffy. I'm looking forward to coming back!

This was a business/leisure break and we pushed the boat out for a lakeside top rated hotel and it didn't disappoint (with one exception). We paid for a lake view room which was very modern and although on the 4th floor the trees across the road did obstruct the view a bit. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and top quality, the room was very clean and comfortable but the current trend for glass walled bathrooms and toilet cubicle is not for us even though there was a curtain to pull a... The hotel is in walking distance (10 mins) to the main train station, but you can also choose a tram/bus. Love the view to the Jet d'Eau, and the stroll near the lake in the morning. Hotel room is great and enjoyed a good sleep. The breakfast is outstanding in choice! Don't miss the rooftop bar and the view there!

Our room the junior suite was beautiful. We loved our stay at the hotel, and the rooftop terrace bar was really cool to come back to after a late dinner for a nightcap. This is the best location as well, across from the park and the lake, and behind all the shops.

I am writing to express my sadness and unhappens due to unfair treatment I faced from the management of Swisstol Metropole Geneva Hotel during my stay as a guest in Geneva for the first time in my life. I had the opportunity to stay at the hotel during the period of 7-11 July 2016 with my family, total of 7 guests, at three rooms, No. 304, 305, and 316. At check out, the hotel's management, Mr. Raphaël Mukarji and Mr. Bertrand Lerscle, indicted me against damages in rooms 304 and 305, and req... Read more

We decided to stay at the Hotel Metropole for our 3 night visit to Lake Geneva and I think we made a great choice. The Hotel Metropole is positioned central to the lake, with the Jardin Anglais directly opposite and a 5 minute walk to the famous Flower Clock. We had a Lakeside room which overlooked the Four Season Fountain and we could just see the tip of the Jet d'eau above the trees. The room itself was perfect (Not to keen on the sliding door to the en-suite) with free bottled water supplied... Read more
