A very relaxing and layed back hotel. The staff is very service minded and it is a combination of a relaxed attitude combined with being proffesional. I spent two nights. I had one of the smaller rooms but is was good enough. The only strange thing was the stone in the middle of the wash basin. When you washed your face the water splashed all over the place. I used the bar and restaurant several times for drinks, lunches and dinners. Very high .standard

My family and I stayed in this hotel during our Easter holidays on our way to Lapland and the Icehotel. We looked carefully before booking as we wanted a quaint hotel, close to all main sites so to avoid taxis and public transport. Being located on one of the islands in front of Stockholm center, we were not sure. But it is actually a very pleasant walk (10 minutes) to get to the other side as there is a very handy bridge connecting the island to the city center. Service was very good for us an... Read more

This was one of the finest hotel experiences ever! Skeppsholmen is an island in the middle of Stockholm formerly belonging to the Swedish Navy, but now given over to art museums, especially the modern art center. The hotel is the only one on the island, in a beautiful park setting, and a short walk to the museum and the harbor. Rooms are elegantly modern (opt for the larger ones on the second floor), and the staff is very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Convenient and fun transportation around the... Read more

We've been at Hotel Skeppsholmen for my boyfriend's birthday and we stayed for 3 nights. I can easily say that it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is very beautiful and rooms are well decorated. Breakfast was also delicious. They offered us a glass of champagne and a box of toffees on our arrival to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. I will definitely stay here if I visit Stockholm once again.

We found it a perfect place to stay in Stockholm, very close to the city center, old town and other neighborhoods but feels like a suburb, very friendly staff, good food for lunch and breakfast, highly recommended for a weekend stay over. The prices are OK, certainly in Stockholm standard !

Fall in love with this hotel, the simple elegance Scandinavian design. Location is superb, easy to access the city center via boat, bus, even bike. Guest room is nice and clean. Breakfast is quite good. I spent 4 nights at Hotel Skeppsholmen for business conference, so the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel has made the meeting smooth and relax !!

After staying in the chic and friendly Berns in my previous business visits to the Scandinavian capital, I was recommended to try this place by a colleague since the Berns was fully booked. Located on a small island connected to the mainland via a bridge (and connected to even a smaller island Kastelholmen via an even smaller bridge from its other side), this place is marvelous. Navigating between meetings in the city by bike is fairly easy as the City bikes station is right behind the reception... Read more

This hotel is rated so highly on TA for good reason. A wonderful experience, for much less than you'd pay elsewhere in Stockholm. Within walking distance of Gamla Stan's restaurants and bars, it still feels tranquil and serene. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and the staff are so welcoming! The hotel is located in an old property that was a military barracks at one time, situated on one of the small islands near the city center. This is a wonderfully located hotel, combining a handy central city location with the relative peace and quiet of being on a small island. Added together makes this a special place. All sights are either within an enjoyable walk or a regular ferry service running to either Slussen and Djurgarden. Also a regular bus service stops outside if needed. This elegant hotel is located on an island that is close to old town but the distance away makes it feel separate and private. We loved the location and the historic nature of the hotel and the rooms - Also, it is very close to several museums (we did not have time to go to them - but they looked interesting). Stockholm residents come to the hotel to eat. 2 - no, the location is not strange or too far from anything, don't worry. It's an easy walk to many of the sights, and you can always bus, cab, or ferry to go further. The walk to the subway is about 15mins. While a few steps away from Stockholm's major venues you are in a beautiful, quiet location which makes you feel as if you are in a summer cottage far from the crowds of a major metropolis. The staff is exceptional. Everyone was positive and helpful, particularly Beatrice at Reception who gave us good advice and recommendations. After a long day of travel and hassle free check in we enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant. The fo... Read more

We got the Junior Suite so we can close the door to the master bedroom and be more separated from the kids in the other room, however, this made it a little stuffy for the kids because the AC unit is only located in the master suite and the windows couldn't be opened in the kids' room. We were there during the summer when there was a global heat wave so maybe it's not a real problem most of the time. The location was perfect for a family since it was next to the ferry stop that travels in a tri... Read more

Have nothing negative at all to say about Hotel Skeppsholmen. Firstly it's in a fabulous location on small green island yet with easy transport links to all areas. Summer house in the middle of the city. Room (170) was large, comfortable and well designed. Although the bathroom was uber cool it was functional. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast is full of lovely local products, and included in the price. Staff very helpful. Can't imagine a nicer experience in Stockholm.

I just spent very nice days in Stockholm: they have been great since hotel Skeppsholmen too. First, the position: very good, few minutes of very nice walking and you'll be in the centre, the Old Town and many of the main attractions and museums in Stockholm; i could have been everywhere just by walking. Then, the location: i could choose hotel Skeppsholmen since that; wonderful little island, green ("a big garden with few and nice low buildings"), a little oasis, everything so calm, well maintai... We arrived in Stockholm after a Baltic cruise and got to the hotel approx. 9:30 am. The greeting we got at reception was very warm & welcoming. Although our rooms were not ready we were asked if we would like to have breakfast or coffee. We had coffee and the young man, Martin, who greeted us, came over to chat. He gave us some ideas about how to get around and what to see. A few minutes later he offered us some freshly made sorbet from the kitchen which was amazing!! When we did check in ... Read more

Hotel Skeppsholmen, was perfect in every way, quiet, relaxing beautiful, excellent service, and all within walking distance of the the busy city center! Every aspect of their hotel was perfect! Dagmar, the dinning room manager, was fantastic, in making sure that we had vegan options! She gave us special service, as did the entire staff, at Hotel Skeppsholmen. We can hardly wait to return!

We decided to splash out on our few days in Stockholm - all the hotel prices were over the top anyway, and we'd stayed there a few times, so we went for something that was worth the money. Had far too short a time here and loved it. Just don't (ever!) check out the prices for drinks or food or you'll have a heart attack. Once you are on the island you really don't want to leave to find a cheaper beer or whatever. And the service is just as you'd expect for the quality and prices. You can walk o... Read more

What a gem of a hotel - in a perfect location on a little island accessed via a bridge, and in two listed buildings that were formerly army barracks. Each room is beautifully decorated with such simplicity but perfectly comfortable and with everything you may need. In case you forget anything there is an array of incidentals to buy in your room. My room looked over the water and I was able to see the sun set. The hotel breakfast area/restaurant/bar area is really inviting and the lighting was ... Read more

So much love and attention to detail this hotel offers - the staff is beyond friendly and super professional and everybody seems to genuinely love what they are doing!!! Always comes back here while I Stockholm and if I am not staying, a visit to the restaurant is a must!!!! One of the more unique hotels you will find where the buildings dates back to 1699 but the design is ultra modern and Swedish minimalism (without feeling cold) Book it, you will not be disappointed!!!

Had a really relaxing stay at this hotel. The location of this hotel is perfect - away from the city centre but still close enough to walk. The hotel is located on a separate island and had a resort like feel to it. The breakfast was awesome as well. Lots of choices and really good food. I stayed in the park facing room which was a little bit noisy during the day due to the occassioal passing car but other than that, my stay was perfect. Even had room service which was not overly expensive. Woul... Read more

Like many others, we chose Hotel Skeppsholmen for their extraordinary location. It is so pretty and peaceful, we wish we could move there. You have the Bus 65, Hop On Hop Off bus and Ferry Station right outside the hotel. If you need to go somewhere further, the Front Desk will order you a taxi, no sweat. It will take you around 20mins walking to get into Norrmalm but it's all worth it passing by the Modern Museum, Water Front, National Museum and Royal Opera. The hotel itself has its own h... This is a great hotel with respect to service and rooms are nice neat and quaint. If you are going to stay ask for a room on the second floor on the water side. Rooms on the road side of the hotel, even on the second floor, have such poorly sound-insulated windows that you can hear people speaking outside in regular voice ( i.e. Not speaking loudly). Before my partner and I decided, we tried to compare this hotel with Hotel Kallhagen, which is also just 5 min drive from city center because the positions of both of them are quite similar for us in terms of a kind of resort hotel in a city, even though their target must be different each other. So we visited both and found that the quality, such as interiors, service, amenities etc., of Hotel Skeppholmen is much higher than the other. The property is an old Naval building on beautiful Skeppsholmen Island which has been thoughtfully converted into an ultra cool small hotel. Design elements throughout are clever and tasteful. We stayed here for 5 nights in September, we had great weather and a great time. This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, I believe it was once a army barracks so the layout is pretty quirky. This hotel, from Design Hotels by Starwood-Marriott, is a somewhat simple place focused on Swedish design, located on a pleasant, small city island next to the Castle Isle, across from the Royal Palace. The rooms sport minimalist, rustic decor but are easy on the eye. The beds are comfy and the bed linen is snow-white and crisp. The bathrooms are spotless and toiletries are lush. It is not a cheap place, charging some 3500 SEK and up per night.
