First Hotel Reisen was within easy walking distance from Central Station and ideally placed for wandering around Gamla Stan, or catching the Hop-on, Hop-off boats and buses. The room was a good size with a great view over the water. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful.

We visited for a week, and loved every minute. The hotel is a great dowager of a hotel with lots of charm, not a newly built perfect clinical hotel. Part of its charm for me was the faded elegance, but seeing as you're based in Gamla Stam that's to be expected. Positives The position is second to none, you are almost next to the Royal Palace and Parliament, in the heart of the old time. The hotel is clean and tidy, and felt very fresh. We stayed here one night. The location could not be better. Right in Gamla Stan, the Royal Castle is a few houses down the street. You are right on the water, and have all that Gamla Stan have to offer right outside the door or a few minutes walk away. If I go to Stockholm again I will definitely stay here again. The staff was always very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of options. Excellent food

Stayed here for 4 nights in May 2016. The hotel is waterfront in the old city and has a good business style. The rooms are good sized for Europe, but small by US standards. Had a room overlooking a side street. The privacy was limited. The room had a bathroom that is OK set of facilities. The front desk is very friendly and provides great set of services. The room price includes breakfast with a great buffet with warm and cold items. The buffet is plentiful and the food is of good quality. ... Read more

This historic hotel has modernized to 21st c standards, yet its 18 century oak doors w/ maritime brass fittings, etc. lend a feeling of Stockholm's golden days - its old sailing vessels we could envision from our special room overlooking the water. Special thanks to Thomas who happily took our telephone call reservation from Virginia in the middle of his night shift, Alphonso who made the long weekend so special, and all the staff - who let's face it - provide the friendly helpful service to cr... Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly. Hotel breakfast was very good - usual continental selection of cold and hot items. Free wifi always welcome! Garbage trucks started already at 5:00 making so much noise that I was unable to get any sleep. This continued one after the other all morning. This impacted my work performance the following day. i think it is the responsibility of the hotel to inform guest of this.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Really worn down hotel in need of more than a bucket of paint. Our room was dirty, torn wallpaper, broken/cracked furniture, broken lightbulbs in bathroom, malfunctioning faucet etc. Would have checked out and changed hotel if I hadn't been so busy with work and appointments. Complained at front desk and waited for some kind of explaination but all I got was an excuse (by routine, felt like not the first one). Was asked if I wanted them to look at the room? Four nights, B&B, standard room, which is quite small, especially the bathroom. No aircon. Hot duvets and a bit noisy from the road, which made sleeping fitful. Better with windows closed and just sheets. Breakfast fine. Was this worth £1,000 for 4 nights? Only because Stockholm is an expensive city.

Lovely staff, nice breakfast, great location BUT--- the rooms are tired, bath controls require an engineering degree. Caters to groups and cruise passengers. Room sizes vary considerably. And, did I mention, NO air conditioning- not needed most of the time but always welcome plus it's noisy if windows are open. Other options at similar price points.

A typical European business hotel on the edge Stockholm's Central Business District and situated in the administrative centre of the old part of the city. Well appointed overlooking the main cruise ship port. Best rooms are the front rooms overlooking the port area. Small gym. no ramp for luggage so has to be hauled up a few stairs. Worth staying when in Stockholm.

the service was good and the breakfast included was fantastic. The location was very good. What needs improvement is the lobby and restaurant areas which are dated and dark. The room was a bit small, but the major problem is having to open the windows for air in warm weather and the resulting noise from street traffic, early morning deliveries, and street cleaning in the alley next to the hotel which kept waking us when trying to sleep.

The hotel is very comfortable. If you take a standard room, ask for a room with a large window if you want a bit more light. It has rooms with a small window as was the tradition in Sweden and a mirror reflecting the light. My sister and family had a suite with a beautiful view on the water. It offers delicious buffet type breakfasts with lots of bio and healthy food. The location to visit the city in one of the best in Stockholm.

A quite standard hotel with a great location. The old city (Gamla stan) is literally outside the window. We had a room facing the alley. A fun feature is a mirror outside the window that allows you to see the water. Reasonable price, and average standard. Not much more to say, really.
