I liked a lot of this place. Nice room and very good breakfest! It is near the train station. There is a good supermarket in front of the hotel and some places to eat. Some shows happen some days of the week in the bar located in the lobby! Good music with nice people!

The hotel is very accessible which is only about 10 mins walk from the bus and train station. The bus from airports stopped at this station. Big reception and lobby area and the bar/restaurant is clearly visible for the reception area. The room we stayed is normal standard room, so not the biggest room but it has a sofa inside the room and just enough space. It has mini bar, ironing facilities but not tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom is good but if you are more than 6 foot tall, then i... Read more

Even if you've not yet arrived you'll get the first negative impression by trying to call the hotel by telephone; they let you wait at least 10 minutes before answering the call. (Not once, always!) The rooms are so small, they are cabinets rather than rooms. The windows are not really soundproofed but street traffic is not excessive. Although outside temperature was between 5 and 10°C during the whole stay the rooms were not heated quite on the contrary cold air was blown into the room by the... Read more

The hotel was nice. The breakfast is not reach, but has the necessary. The breakfast room was always crowdy, withsome difficulties to get a table. My room was very small, but it was just for sleeping, so it was OK. The tv was above my feet!!! There is a gym and a pool but I did't try. I did't like the courtains because I wake up always at 04h00 with the sun rising. There was no way to close the courtains completely!!!

Let's start with the good things: We stayed in one of the suites on floor 7. Very nice room with great views of the rooftops. Good bathroom with both shower and tub. Common areas (lounge, bar etc) nice with a good vibe. Brekfast decent but nothing more... But why all those little things that could be better? At arrival we discovered two problems in our room. Two days and several reminders later they were still not fixed + one more thing in the room had broken. The "balcony" was nice for standin... Read more

I stayed in this hotel when it was still under renovation. The fact that this had not been advertised prior to arrival is outrageous. We were subjected to dirt and noise and absolute chaos and I have never experienced anything like this anywhere. The attitude of staff was flippant at best, most certainly not professional. The small rooms, with even tinier bathrooms, were not clean at all and housekeeping staff would enter without knocking. The worst was the chaos during breakfast. People fightin... Read more

Working in the room with WIFI is frustrating I needed to enter the pass code many times a day for each phone(iPhone and Blackberry) and laptop. I didn't have any issues in Tallinn or Amsterdam. Paid a fortune to stay here, almost $400 a night for a small room and was charged extra for breakfast as we were two. The staff now seem to have little discretion to ameliorate issues as we have stayed here often over the years. They give you a few crowns, valid for one beer at the hotel bar, which... Read more

Not bad place, close to the station (easy walking distance) and in a bit quieter part of town. Easy access to most tourist places, and a bit cheaper than other hotels. Furniture is a bit old, but rooms are nice and reasonable size. There's a kettle in the room, but no coffee or tea, so it's a bit pointless! Staff are okay and breakfast is decent. Not a bad place.

Hotel is pretty much standard. Room is a bit small for 3 people. Security is really a big problem in this hotel. One of our tour friends lost her bag for which she kept her passport and big amount of cash inside her bag. It happened when we had our breakfast in their Ground Floor's Cafe and when she reported this matter to the Reception Desk, they were not that attentive at all and just disregard the report, pretending as if nothing has happened. The hotel is about 5-7 minute walk from the main train station which is convenient when coming in from the airport. The metro stop is right next the hotel which makes it super convenient to get around the city. The hotel is not in the city centre but still a good location due to the reasons above. Because it is away from the city centre we found some good restaurant dining deals - more reasonably priced than in the usual tourist spots. It's amazing how important a great communal open-design dining area is to feel great and homey in a hotel! The rooms are on the small side. Comfy but tight. Efficiently laid out. However, you forget about your room when the ground floor area by the entrance is designed so well and makes you feel so at home. You simply want to hang out there and not your room. Stayed for 10 nights in July. The only reason I have not given this 5 stars is because we had a problem with a dripping AC unit. However they did change our rooms instantly and gave us a room upgrade. Breakfast is unbelievable with an incredible choice. Must praise two waitresses who were friendly and gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit, all of which were superb. So many thanks to Sofia and Malin. Look at the location, you can get to the subway w/o getting wet, the bus runs both on the street going toward the water and the street vertically across town. You can walk and drag suitcases, like everyone else, from the train station, or walk across from the town hall, landmark, to the boat and tour sales office. The staff is very friendly, will try and help everyone in the lobby who asks. Need to print; ask, need directions; ask, need hotel services or other help; ask.

We found this hotel to be one of the best we stayed in throughout our tour. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. The location was great as well. The breakfast was outstanding and such a nice surprise. Usually we find European breakfasts leave a lot to be desired, but this was definitely the best breakfast we've ever had in Europe. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because the rooms were a bit small, but that's to be expected in Europe. I would definitely recommend!

We had such a grand and glorious stay at the Clarion Post in Gothenburg that we expected the same at Clarion Amaranten. We were very disappointed. We did call down and report the window and heat problem on the first night. They sent maintenance up but the issues could not be resolved. He brought us a portable heater and promised to... Read more

Location was perfect - you can walk from Central railwaystation only in 10 minutes to hotel. Interior desing of the hotel was really beautiful and I loved the lobby area where you could sit around and work. Room was big and bed was enourmous. I think the room was newly renovated so it was quite modern. Breakfest room was well planned thought I think it might be little pit too small if the hotel id fully booked. But overall the hotel was amazing and service was really good. Everyone were smilin... Read more

I have stayed at the Clarion Nordic Choice hotels many times, the experience is always good. Nice, clean rooms, being a platinum member you get good benefits, good food, and last but not least, very nice staff.

Clarion Amaranten has a nice location in Stockholm, but will not be my choice for weekend stay in the future. The rooms are OK, but breakfast is crowded and stressful To much people in to little space. If you are thinking of having a nice and quiet breakfast, then this is not the place to stay. Location is OK, not the best if you want to be close to the city centre, but there is an underground station right outside the door.

My first stay here (5 nights). Positives: - Location. Relatively near the Central train station (10 min walk). Supermarket opposite to the hotel. A few restaurants nearby. - Excellent newly renovated shower. Room for improvement: - Bathroom. While the shower is great, the bathroom is rather useless. The mirror stays fogged up after a shower for at least 15 mins. Not very practical in the morning. No body lotion (much needed in the Swedish winter). No ear buds. Shampoo and conditioner suboptim... I don' t mindre staying in a small room but they call single rooms for moderate double rooms and to get out of bed I had to climb over my friend. We also had a 3 bed room. That was a good size double room with a sofa bed. The problem was that it was only 157 cm long and we were 3 adults. The rooms were clean but a bit worn with holes on the sheets and towls and our toilet seat was cracked . The breakfast is very good.

It is very rare to be in a big hotel with hundreds of guests but the staff gave me the feeling to be welcome - I felt treated as a good old friend (although it was my first stay there). They gave evidence that high professionality can go along with genuine friendliness. Amazing experience.

This was our first trip to Sweden and Gotel Clarion Amaranten staff made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. We were upgraded to a Superior Double room which was beautifully furnished with a modern contemporary decoration. The room and bathroom were very clean. The reception staff were very helpful with booking a taxi for us too. Breakfast was. Dry well presented and there was a huge choice. The only thing we would have liked was complimentary tea, coffe & water in the room.

I would give this hotel 3 stars but the bar and restaurant saved it. This was our first trip to Sweden but we had previously stayed at the Clarion Post in Gothenburg and were expecting something of the same caliber. We checked in around 8 pm or so and no upgrades were available. (we asked). We were supposed to be in a superior double but I have no idea how the room we got qualified as a superior double. I would not book a regular double. Our room was on a corner, that might have made it a... Read more
