"We have stayed in the Sonesta Maho for four years straight and we have enjoyed our vacation each time. Yes their are hicups and yes some of the staff seem unfriendly but the majority are hard working and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. I find the food good and if you take advantage of eating at all four restaurant locations you will have variety. I go for the sun and to just relax and have fun. Take advantage of the boat cruises around the island. They are alot of fun and will give you great views of the beaches and towns around the island.
The only recommendations I will make is that the washrooms in the ocean terrace building should all be updated ASAP as this is the first place the ladies will look at. Great ocean views from these rooms however."

"So my wife and i just returned from the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort. And in a sentence..Dont waste your time or money. The online listing says there is room service.. there is not. It says there is bottles of water inthe rooms, and the upper class rooms have a mini-bar...our room had nothing in the fridge. Most resorts provide you with a map of the resort, telling you where things are and hours of operation....this resort not only did not have any kind of map, but the staff was asked about different things, they were not friendly at all. No one had a smile on their faces at all. thye all seemed very miserable. When you go out to the beach you need to ask an employee for loung chairs since they are all locked up. And if you want an umbrella you also have to ask for one. This is ok with me however when i asked the genlteman for 2 chairs and an unbrella, he thought it was more important to continue picking up garbage for another 15 minutes before getting the chairs and then he disappeared for another 45 minutes before returning with the umbrella. When it came to meals, we went ot the buffet to eat each night, and it was a chore to try and get a drink. We sat down, and the guy asked if we wanted something..we were done eating by the time he returned with a pitcher of water. I would NOT reccommed the Sonesta Maho Beach resort to anyone, unless of course your looking to be disappointed."

"Proximity to hotel was excellent. View is excellent. Clean hotel. Majority of staff is unfriendly. Paid for all inclusive and food was not good. Options for food also limited regarding eating times. Hotel should have some snack or meal available for most of the day. One day no food available from 4pm to 6pm. Would look to stay else where but would not rule out."

"Great location and quite adequate rooms. Duty Manager and some staff friendly and helpful but staff in the restaurants were quite unfriendly, service very slow and made you feel uncomfortable if you asked for anything.
Food was not great but acceptable."
