Oh!, The wonderful Saint Lucian staff make this a wonderful place. I made very good friends with one of the staff, I cannot mention their name because they are forbidden to fraternise with guests. I am now firm friends with their Mother and Father, Grand Mother and family. I saw the REAL Saint Lucia, not just the tourist part. We have become firm friends now and keep in touch. It is a wonderful holiday for older people that can walk unaided. If you are not so good with stairs - think again. Bes... Read more

We spent a week at the Bel Jou in January 2017 and returned rested and well cared for by the staff of the hotel. This stay included all meals and drinks which were excellent with good choices at each meal time. The main building, which included the restaurant, main bar and entertainment areas, were cool and airy with lovely views over Castries and the sea. Lulu's Cabana off the pool area was great for lunch and daytime drinks. The pool area and the pool itself was well looked with plenty of loun... Read more

I have just returned from my second visit to The Bel Jou.The change of ownership of the hotel has made little difference to this " treasure".many of the same staff are still there giving their excellent service. The new management are trying new things e.g. New evening entertainment, aqua aerobics, country and western evenings etc. What" makes "this hotel are the staff, always cheerful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I look forward to my return visit

We have been to the Caribbean many times both cruising and staying in hotels. My husband chose Bel Jou this time as Saga offered a 2 island package (St Lucia and Grenada). It was also our first time with Saga. However before leaving I checked on Trip Advisor and read some of the reviews. My heart sank as there were quite a few negative reports as the hotel had been sold (we were informed of this) and it seemed as if things were bad. Many people saying that they wouldn't return; end of an era ... Read more

We have just spent Christmas and New Year at the Bel Jou. The new manager is quite dynamic and the staff are superb. There are a few problems. There was no hot water for six days due to the ancient obsolete water system, spares for which are not available. It will therefore need to be replaced. The hotel is very clean nothing is too much trouble. It is quite obvious that the new owners intend to aim at a much younger age group which Saga travellers may find off putting. Access to the hotel is ve... Read more

Returned back home just before Christmas- hotel not the same as our previous holidays since change of ownership - very disappointing. Would not return again although everyone is entitled to their opinion. St Lucia is a lovely island and the views from this hotel are amazing.

A really nice surprise as did this as a 2 centre stay the first being at Barbados. A couple at the first hotel told us they had cancelled due to being given adverse comments by a friend. What a bad decision they made. Customer service way in front of the hotel in Barbados and what great staff and made to feel really welcome. The only comment I made to the manager is I understand long term the courtesy coach may be charged for and feel that should stay. In Barbados they should have supplied a sn... Read more

We approached our holiday at the Bel Jou with some trepidation after the sale from Saga to a new owner however our fears were completely unfounded It is a time of transition for the hotel manager Dean and his staff but I have to say we cannot find anything bad to say about our stay The room was spotlessly clean. The food was cooked to a very high standard OK a little bit "English" but I guess it has suited guests in the past and it seems that a more caribbean flavour may be on the way Jafree... Read more

We have been lucky enough to have stayed at Bel Jou for three to four weeks at a time, over the past nine years. We spent a wonderful time there end of May into June but I fear it will have been our last trip. It is everything we don't look for in a hotel... Let me explain. We love to get out and walk. We enjoy meeting and chatting to the local residents. We look forward to eating out, whether popping in for a coffee or going out to lunch or dinner. Bel Jou is up a very steep hill, not safe for ... Bel Jou or Delightful Day hotel reflect its positives, but it has to be judged alongside its physical restrictions due to its position high up on a hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea, airport and cemetery. The hotel and grounds are kept spotless with close scrutiny of the details.Fogging is experienced, once a week on Wednesdays between 5.30pm to 6.30pm, when all residents are confined to their rooms. The rooms are spacious with provision of all mod comes. They are kept scrupulously clean by ...
