The Location Playa Blanca is know to be very touristy with English bars and restaurants with lots of families and, for all intense and purposes, it is that however, The Volcan is about 1/2 mile east of the main resorts of Playa Blanca and about 1 mile from the "High Street". Set in the Rubicon Marina, it is a little quieter with a slower pace; the gentle ripples on the quiet marina add to a relaxed and calming atmosphere. The Marina is a cross between traditional with the restaurants, lightly... Read more

Accommodation was of highest quality, staff from reception to room maids of highest quality and the food was superb with more than ample choice. This hotel is of highest quality. Easy access to dining room and swimming pools. Very secure with excellent amenities to book numerous trips of island. You do not need a car.

Very impressed with hotel reception and welcome. Our room was good everything we needed except wi-if,but you could sit in reception if you wanted wi-fi. We only had bed and breakfast which was superb as was the service, didn't rate snack bar near the pool food came from main kitchen quite a long wait and by the time it was walked round uncovered too it was luke warm, apart from that we enjoyed our stay very relaxing weather could have been better. Loved the Marina plenty of restaurants to eat out... Read more

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room (we paid for sea view) was very good with lots of space . Cleanliness was to a very high standard. The only areas that for us let it down were facilties I would expect as standard for a 5 star such as one heated pool, comfortable sun loungers , jacuzzi came at a price as you had to pay extra to upgrade to 'club member' . Those visiting with children need to know that wifi is only available in reception. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was goo... Read more

Upgraded on arrival to a Club Suite, this was a welcome surprise and probably due to both our birthdays taking place during our 5 night stay. Free bottle of bubbly and cakes on our birthday was very nice and much appreciated. The Club area was perfect as we wanted a quiet break, the hot tubs and heated pool was just what we wanted as most of the time we had them to ourselves. Brand new sunbeds arrived during our stay and there were plenty free at all times. The breakfast was excellent with gre... Read more

The standard room we booked was large and well equipped, cleaned daily with bed linen and towels changed. Stayed half board and food was good with plenty of choice.Main pool was out of action, but we were told before our stay.As we walked around the pool we sometimes got dust and water spray from the work going on which could have been avoided by screening off the work area, but as compensation we were allowed to use the club pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed an 11 night holiday with my husband and 8 year old daughter. Had read about the closure of large pool for renovations prior to arrival so was not an issue, and, even though half term week, never had a problem getting a sun lounger. We could also use Club Volcan, which we visited while our daughter was at kids club. Room was great size, with all the expected touches and restocked daily. Stayed Bed and Breakfast, breakfast had a great variety and it is in a great location on the marina ... Read more

My husband, two kids (7 and 5) and I are just home from a lovely relaxing 1 week stay at this hotel. The hotel was beautiful, location excellent and food very good. We were on B&B basis but did have dinner one evening and lunch by the pool bar on a couple of occasions during the week. Its only a short walk down to the promenade with lots of restaurants to choose from so I would highly recommend B&B basis for the hotel and it was very nice for everyone to get out for a walk each evening. Our second visit was even better than the first stay at the Volcan. This time we had paid for a sea view - well worth it. As I use a wheel chair we phoned ahead to ensure the room was accessible without been a being a disabled room. Perfect room , 501 a short distance from the lift, but far enough to be away from noise and a beautiful marina / sea view from the balcony. The hotel had even put a seat into the bath for me. The room well presented and clean - plenty big enough for 3 of us. We stay... Read more

We've just returned from a weeks stay at the volcan. It was just my husband and myself and we had the most amazing break. The hotel catered for our needs beautifully providing us with a hassle free, relaxing, luxury break. The selection of foods served was vast and beautifully presented although I've mentioned to the hotel maybe a little more care could be taken in the labelling to ensure things like diced pineapple are not really papaya ( granted I'm being picky). Staff were properly attentive ... Read more

Pros: Nice room. Very comfortable. Good size and had nice balcony. Attractive hotel grounds and good location for nice part of the marina. Breakfast was lovely. Great choice. Service very good too. Cons: Our room didn't have an amazing view. The showers leaks water all the way from the bath into the hallway. The sunbeds by the pool were always all reserved with towels by 9am every morning. Bit windy by the pool for some reason. Bit of a wind trap. 1km walk to beach/night life.

What a disappointment Pool closed we were told before we went but our room overlooked it. Hotel informed clients would not be in rooms overlooking the pool but this only applied to rooms on the ground floor, we were on the third floor work went on from 8 in the morning until 7 at night .The noise was nominal but 11 workmen were very much on view to us & we had no privacy on our balcony reception refused to move our room The food was disgusting swimming in grease usually & never hot & mostly ove... This was a fabulous hotel very peaceful yet there were plenty of people there. The food was amazing something for everyone and the bedrooms were particularly spacious. A bonus having tea and coffee facilities. The only reason I could not give 5 stars was because the main pool was closed for maintenance. This 5 star hotel was very nice although there was maintenance and a pool closed for our short trip of 5 nights which we weren't informed fully of till we arrived. The food was very nice and the evening meals and breakfasts were of buffet style but there was a huge selection with pleasant staff looking after you. The hotel was well spread out and offered a "Club Vulcan" which wasn't discussed or signage about so not sure how you would have become part of the club, possible because our stay was ... Read more

I have just returned from my second stay at the Volcán Hotel and I can safely say I will be returning for a third next year! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. On arrival, our bathroom was beautifully decorated with fresh flower petals and we had complimentary bottles of water stocked in the fridge. The cleaning staff arrived promptly ea... Read more

We visited The Volcan Lanzarote for a holiday in June 2016 and were overwhelmed by the splendour of this 5 star hotel. Enter via a "chapel" soothing church music, candles and the smell of incense, to a welcoming reception area. This area houses trees, innumerable sitting areas and a gin bar. What a find! Despite renovations to the pool area we were offered other pools to use and also the Club area normally reserved for Club customers with Jacuzzis so our stay was not hindered by this. In this p... I visited Hotel Volcan 3 years ago for 2 weeks and had a fabulous time and went on trips every second day. I had a wonderful view from my balcony of the Marina + Playa Blanca + food was great and I felt comfortable and relaxed to be there. I went back for a week's visit (9th June - 15th June 2016) and it was even better. Due to the large swimming pool being renovated (which looked to be a first class job - from what I could see) I would add that it did not spoil my stay in any way. I luckily... Read more

The hotel is absolutely stunning, right next to Marina Rubicon, we couldn't fault it. Great location in Playa Blanca, away from the busy part of the town but only a short walk in. Relatively close to the national park as well (a 20 minute drive). The hotel is nice, although unfortunate that we couldn't use the main pool as it was being renovated. Would recommend getting either electric scooters or bikes and go explore the town along the seafront.

I arrived very late on a Thomas Cook flight, very close to the closure of the main buffet, but checkin was whozzed through at top speed, and because the hotel is spread out over a wide area, the receptionist asked the porter to show me the way directly to the dining room so I could have something to eat. A nice touch, since I;d never have found my way there otherwise! My sea view room was spacious and had a magnificent view over the Marina, the selection of amenities in the bathroom was stunning... Great hotel in perfect location. Very friendly staff and lots to do. Lovely little gym and spa. The marina nearby had great restaurants. Frustrating that you couldn't use the free wifi in your room and had to go to a communal area. Can't understand why a 5 star hotel wouldn't have wifi in your room. Would definitely return though.

A lovely hotel in a great location with an original and authentic style. As the name suggests the hotel looks like a volcano, overlooking the sea towards Playa Blanca which is a 10 minute walk away. The well-maintained coastal path runs along all the nearby resorts for about 10km and makes for a nice walk. It is suitable for all types of user so if anyone is in a wheelchair, they can get to enjoy the coastline too. The path is right in front of the hotel and access is with your room pass so the ... Stayed for a week B&B at the end of June as part of a package. The Hotel has a lovely unique layout and great location on the Marina Rubicon with all its restaurants and bars. Having visited Playa Blanca for nearly 25 years we normally stay in the centre but decided on a change. Our arrival was met with a refreshing cocktail and an efficient and pleasant check in. We have just returned from the volcan hotel, we stay on a bed & breakfast basis. The rooms, amenities, food, room services are all excellent, a 15 min walk takes you in to playa Blanca with all the typical Spanish supermarkets, gifty shops & restaurants all very nice. The first comment I would like to make is concerning the wonderful Kids Club. The staff were very warm and attentive to the children, involving them in various meaningful and rewarding activities; my son made numerous friendships that continued  well beyond the two slots offered each day.
