Staying at the bitacora club was brilliant. From the minute we got there we were made to feel very welcome. It was my first time abroad and cant wait to go back. The bar owners were absolutely fantastic ! I would recommend it to anyone and have. Even just staying in you were never bored. Steph.. Scotland!

Theres not much more to say that everyone else has not - pretty much every single review for this place is bang on!!!! Good location - 5 minute walk down the hill then I would recommend a taxi back up as it is very steep which ever route you take back up.......and taxi is usually less than 3 euro. Rooms are spotless, all the staff are very friendly and provide a good service, the cocktails are good and the breakfasts are quality. Lots of people moan about the pool being cold but it is not that b... Read more

Brilliant location, very clean and tidy, always kept up with. we were there a week and they came in every other day to clean and refresh the apartment. Everything you would need for a week self catering. It's not 5 star, but you're not paying five star prices. It's spotless, and cheap. that's all you need. spot on, well done to all the staff

We are just back from a week in a superior apartment. the complex is a lovely small complex with the added bonus of being a non smoking property, you can only smoke in one part of the complex. The apartments are huge, the towels changed every second day, however they only supply one hand towel and bath towel per person, they charge 2 euro extra per towel if you request them. Reception closes for siesta during the day for a few hours and then at night. Like everyone has wrote, Lidl is so ha... Read more

We are just back from a great 1 week stay at the bitacora. The man on reception is so lovely and does everything he can to help you. The room was lovely and spacious and very clean. It is on a massive hill though, which isn't too bad if your fit but a few of the older visitors I spoke to did find this a bit of a problem however a cab from the beach is only 3 euros so worth doing that every so often. It's about 10-15 minutes from old town and about 5-10 to the beach but a lot of walking so bear t... Read more

Just returned from a family holiday after ten days here. Apartments were clean, well serviced with towels every other day but there was a cockroach issue which unfortunately is a hazard of the island. The complex is situated right at the top of cardiac hill which is fine if you want a cardio workout a few times a day but if you are unfit, elderly, disabled or have small kids in buggies a taxi to the main strip will cost you about ?3 a journey. The bar/restaurant staff were really chatty and pa... Read more

Very clean and the Spanish staff are excellent. Hill is not amusing (we live in the Peak District so hills the norm!) makes you not want to pop back to the apartment until you have to. Unless you are willing to spend all your time and money there you are not made to feel that welcome. Apartments not fully equipped for self catering...minimal utensils. Balconies are not private...shared steps and open access to neighbouring apartment. Would not return or recommend

Arrived at 12.45 didn't get key to appartment until 4pm, wasn't even offered a complimentary drink while we waited. Public toilets were not working and never any toilet paper in them or hand towels. Superior room had nice view but had to pay to rent iron and after paying 12 euros for a couple of days for wi fi in our room that didn't work either. Bar staff were very unhelpful and the beer was warm. Never again will I stay here.

Just returned from a week long stay at the Bitacora Club. The overarching thing with this hotel is that you get exactly what you pay for. We arrived at the complex in the early hours, due to a long flight delay. We arrived to find that the Reception was in darkness. The Supermarket we were directed to was also closed, so we had to phone a number that was on a small piece of paper on a notice board. We had to do this to get a code for the complex and also find out which apartment we were in. We ... Read more

We booked the Bitacora Club through Thomson. When we arrived our apartment wasn't ready but we could leave our luggage in a room off the bar which didn't bother us and we went for a walk while we waited. The gentleman on reception was very friendly and polite and gave us a map of the area. Our apartment was spacious and airy. We had paid a small surcharge to upgrade to one of the recently renovated apartments. It was simple but we had everything that we could have needed for a self-catering... Read more

About a 10 minute walk from both the old town and new town. Great place to stay - great location, good sized pool (and kids pool), on site supermarket (a liiiiiiittle bit overpriced but there is a Hiperdino and Spar located 5 minute walk away), spotless apartment and complex and there is a bar that also serves food (breakfast, lunch, dinner - all delicious). Only issues were uncomfortable pillows and it's located on a relatively steep hill so probable wouldn't be the best place to stay for someo... Read more

Wasn't happy . Pool bar wasnt what we expected some staff were miserable, sometimes no draught beer and never had any change didnt use it too often after that. Holiday overall was OK it not sure we would go back tho

Stayed for a week in one of the superior rooms that was a decent size and was equipped with everything you would need. The beds were ok,but the pillows were rubbish and the large sofa was very comfy. The pool area was very clean and there are plenty of loungers to go around. Some of the apartments balconies are facing out on to the road depending on which side you are staying. The bathroom was nice and clean also, but the shower head holder on the wall was only held on with one screw and was ver... Read more

We arrived at the Bitacora to a lovely room which was generally clean and tidy and over looked the pool. The air-conditioning is expensive so we opted out. We were happy with everything over the weekend until the Monday. We woke up to at least four workmen drilling, disk cutting and grinding away on the poolside! We hoped they would finish the work promptly so we could relax. They didn't. This continued all day, way past 6pm. It was so loud and created a huge amount of dust which was flying ev... Read more

After having read the reviews I was wondering what makes a perfect holiday, well the sunshine, sea and service with a smile. I have just spent two weeks at the bitacora with my wife and two children and arrived at the hotel late, to find a closed reception and at first I was unhappy but to then find a note of all the details i needed left me with confidence. just arrived home from the Bitacora apartments in Lanzarote and had a lovely time. The apartments are spacious, clean, bright and modern. Plenty of sun beds around a large (cold) pool and a smaller pool for the kids. Sun there all day long. Nice food from the poolside bar but the bar closed early evening. The reception doors were locked at 9.30pm and we had to use a gate with a code to gain entry after 9.30 . The walk back to the apartments after a night out was a great way to keep fit because ... Stayed at the bitacora for a second time, and loved it as usual! Great place, good location (although is at the top of a hill, not good if you not very mobile), very close to beach, shops, restaurants, harbour, all with in an easy 10 minute walk. Made to feel very welcome, rooms very clean, will be returning again. Make sure you visit palms on the front, lovely staff, good food, beautiful view.

Basic self catered apartments which was fine for us as we are out most of the time. Not impressed with the complex- repairs being conducted and areas fenced off during the whole of our stay with no apology. When we arrived there was no welcome and we were given our keys and left to get on with it. It felt like there should be a turnstile at the reception desk. Smokers are forced to sit outside the bar as smoking isn't allowed on the balcony. We paid for wifi for one day and the signal quality wa... Read more

Had a great stay here. Very clean. The lady in the pool bar was great, didn't get her name but very friendly and helpful served great food at good prices too. Apartment was spotless, pretty basic but everything you would need including a hairdryer. Don't forget your beach towels as these are needed to go by the pool. An enjoyable time was had by all the family.

We had a great holiday in these apartments. Very clean, basic apartments, but with all you need. Good pool area, despite the mad rush for a sunbed, some queuing from before 8.30. Our kids made lots of good friends around the pool and were sad to leave them. We only had one meal in the bar, but that was good, nice people who served us. On site shop was well stocked, but we mainly used the nearby Lidl, Spar and Hyperdino. Would definitely be happy to go back

An ideal location equally between the old town and the sea front strip. The apartments are very well fitted out and are kept spotlessly clean. The pool is lovely if a little deep for the nervous swimmer. The bar restaurant serves nice food but closes early most nights. The supermarket on site is very handy but a little pricey.
