My Husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel last week, we upgraded to a Junior Suite (Rm 822) and it was definitely worth the extra money in my opinion, it is located on the Los Gigantes cliffs side of the hotel, facing the sea and has sunshine from sunrise to sunset on the wrap around balcony, own sun beds and the most stunning views of the cliffs! The staff are all unbelievably helpful and pleasant, always polite and professional, the food is buffet style and even as a veggie I... Read more

The staff are fab and they do fantastic day time activities from French bowls to shuffle board to Aqua Zumba and many more. Evening entertainment is also fab. Food is lovely as well. Also go to loro parque up north as its a great day out. U don't have a beach or many shops by but as we found out u have so much on site to do u don't want to leave. Upon arrival we were placed in 2nd floor (x4 rooms) which were very nice but being on the ground floor the views were not the best and you had people walking past. Also cock croaches in one of the rooms! We requested a change of rooms to be higher. Was told to come back the next day and we could be moved. Had to wait a further day and was only moved up one flight. Better than nothing. Two days into the holiday we could now unpack. The variety of food was excellent and the bar snacks were ... Read more

We have recently spent a marvellous week at the Barcelo Santiago. The location presents beautiful views of the ocean and nearby coastline. The staff were very attentive and gave a first class service in all departments often making that extra effort to say smile and say hello. The hotel was very clean and the food was excellent. We forgot to collect a dvd from reception which they posted on to us free of charge. We definitely want to return.

Don't bother with the pool, sauna in the spa. Not worth the money. Stayed in a superior room with hot tub. Bed was very comfy. Not much storage space. Deco and furnishings are pretty poor, the bathroom not much better. Love the hotel, location ,outdoor eating, and views. But the rooms are very poor, not 4 star standard. Just arrived back in UK from a one week stay at this hotel and to be honest I was hugely disappointed! The hotel has some lovely outdoor areas and our room had a fabulous sea view- but that's where the good points end. The rooms on floors 1-5 desperately need upgrading and haven't been since 1999 and lots of guests on the third floor had problems. We arrived Tuesday and were greeted by a strong smell of bleach in the bathroom, ants in the sink, a broken fridge, air conditioning that only blew ou... Read more

Booked this hotel after seeing it on the thomson website an thought £300 HB was a good deal. However upon arrival at our room 114 I can see why it was so cheap. The pool area, dining area, reception an bar is lovely, can't fault it. But the room was a massive let down, first 3 days we had ants running everywhere, mites in the wooden furniture so had to live out of our case for a week, cockroaches and some sort of insect covering our curtains which can only be described as centipedes. Huge choice of food. We booked this holiday very last minute and booked on the pictures alone. I will give you a very honest and as detailed review as possible. This hotel has breath taking views it's situated right on the cliff side overlooking the sea. My partner booked one of the Bali beds for my birthday we had cava and birthday cake with bed service it was amazing. You can rent one out for the day for Ô?Č30 they do have different packages that you can tap on extra. We upgraded our room to sea view before we a... Read more

We stayed in the Barcelo in Santiago. It was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything about it was fantastic. The good was very tasty. The entertainment was very good. The staff were very welcoming. Will certainly be returning again and again.

We have visited three of the Canaries before, and this was our first time in Tenerife. None of our friends had ever heard of Puerto Santiago so we were a little worried, but had no reason to be. It is a lovely, quiet area and the hotel is right on the seafront. It is a hotel of striking appearance and design. Unusually the lobby at street level is actually the fifth floor, and the pool is on the sixth and appears to be on the roof, but it is on a sort of island which the hotel is built around. C... We had a lovely 2week stay and i can say without doubt it's a great hotel. We had a superior room on the top floor (room 909) which has just about the best views possible. The staff are very friendly, the food is great (we stayed half board and the great thing is you can switch between lunch and evening dinner as and when you want). The quality of the food is really good also. The pool area is nice and well kept. There are plenty of sun beds to go around but as with all holiday locations you hav... Read more

Barcel├│ Santiago, itself, was quite nice, let down really by the tiredness of the room d├ęcor; a little bit of paint & repair work would go a long way to making the room more pleasing. Pool and bars were good, food in general was good but don't trust the electronic boards outside the buffer restaurant, it does not always tell the truth. The views of Los Gigantes are superb, the views of the rooms were good as well.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Barcel├│ Santiago in June 2016. What an amazing time we had. We had champagne on arrival and was shown to our rooms straight away. The room was clean and got cleaned every day. We enjoyed the different types of themed food nights and liked seeing the chef cook food in front of us. We went All inclusive and there was a good range of drinks. If you wanted a real brand such as JD, Southern Comfort or Malibu it was about 2euros extra, The hotel had amazing view... Read more

The hotel is very good value, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Even rang our room later in the day when we left the quiet sign on to see if we needed it cleaning or fresh towels. Plenty of choice of food and replenished frequently. Never had a problem getting sun beds plus they would put a note on your beds letting you know that towels would be removed if left for a length of time. Pool bar food was very good and a good choice, the Santiago salad was fantastic never managed to finish i... Read more

Hotel : The hotel is very tired and does not warrant a 4 star rating. I've stayed in a few hotels over the years and they are pushing it with the rating. Booked through First Choice and the rooms do not reflect what was in the pictures. It needs money spending on it in a big way or at least some form of maintenance regime. Furniture is worn and broken and general furnishings are poor. Words used in some of the reviewers such as Heaven, wonderful etc make me think i stayed at a different hotel. ... Read more

We stayed here for 2 weeks (last week in July and first week of August) and really didn't want to come home. The hotel is designed in the style of a cruise ship, so many rooms have a sea view. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean. Our rooms were cleaned every day and bed linen changed daily, even though it doesn't say this in the brochure. There are no inter-connecting rooms despite what some of the brochures say. The food was plentiful and delicious. There was something to eat... Read more

Fantastic location with superb views of the Los Gigantes cliffs. Short walk to Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago with black sandy beaches. The hotel itself has great staff that are very friendly. The rooms are reasonable and most have great views and small balconies. We had a few niggles with things going wrong (e.g. electrical sockets failing) but most things got fixed quickly when reported to reception. Pools were excellent. Friendly & engaging animation team. Food at dinner was avera... Read more

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel. The hotel is in a great position on the sea front and we were on the 9th floor overlooking the sea.... What a great view to wake up to everyday ! We even saw dolphins whilst sitting on our balcony! The rooms are nice, smaller than I expected but still good. The rooms have a mini fridge which the maids put bottles of water in everyday, nice touch. The rooms have a hair dryer in the bathrooms so you won't need to take one ! The restaurant food is ... We stayed here for one night as we were here overlapping with my parents stay, so just needed one night before they went home before we stayed in our own apartment. Having been to the area at least once a year for the last ten years, I was always impressed by the Barcelo and actually excited to stay here! The pool area is beautiful and I've been in for drinks before and always thought it was such a nice place. Well. We had to wait at check in for about 20 mins before anyone spoke to us, it was ... Where to start! POSITIVES - Booked a Superior Deluxe Suite - room views fabulous and balcony lovely. Animation team work very hard too. NEGATIVES - Day 1 ants all over units / clothes, hotel did attend and wipe sides down which improved that situation. Cockroaches in room, fridge cabinet door doesn't shut, tv in lounge doesn't work, can't hang clothes and shut wardrobe door as coat hangers wider than cupboard, dirty walls in toilet, dirty floors and dust webs and spiders (had these removed!... The location was stunning, built into the cliff and views of the sea stunning. The rooms were clean and air conditioning made it comfortable to sleep in. The balcony had stunning view out across the sea. There was also a good selection of food available and if ordering from the pool bar it was delivered very promptly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of entertainment but during the day at times if you didn't want to be involved it was difficult to find a quiet area where yo... Read more
