A good hotel located within a shopping are which is on a steep hill and therefore had a steep and uncomfortable staircase to reach the reception. Bedrooms were sufficiently roomy and clean. Breakfast was served in an adjoining café which the hotel must have acquired.

The hotel has a very good location - five minutes walk from the old city but in a modern area full of shops, restaurants etc. The room we had was large, very clean and with nice furniture and a good spacious bathroom. The lobby is beautiful, with a mural depicting local people and life, and quite exquisite inlaid handmade pieces of furniture. The personnel was very friendly, helpful and effective. The breakfast was good, very fresh food, and included freshly pressed orange juice and home mad... Read more

Everything is perfect: located in the city center, walking distance from the main Cathedral...awesome restaurant all around and great shopping area around it. Big rooms, great bathroom, clean and perfect in every detail. I'm still surprise about how is difficult to find people who speaks English even in a 5 stars Hotel of a VERY TOURISTIC city...

Quite old Hotel, ugly building. Perfect Location downtown Santiago. The decoration in the Lobby is nice, however a bit overcrowded. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms are perfect, big, clean and despite of the central Location very quiet. Breakfast is excellent, with the best coffee I have ever had in a Hotel. Good value for Money and for sure one of my preferred Hotels.

This is billed as a 5 star hotel and in many ways it is. However, these days I would say that guests do ask for newer and smarter decoration and facilities in the bedrooms. Here we had no easy chair, no free water, Luke warm water at bedtime 2 out of 3 days , very limited drawer storage, no mirror in the bedroom and dicey Wi-Fi. In general the hotel was smart and welcoming and very stylishly old fashioned, so the rooms were a disappointment. the staff were always helpful and breakfasts good, bu... Read more

The reception area and foyer of this hotel is superb - comfortable and welcoming surroundings but there was never anyone around. I walked through this area to get to the lift several times and the same story. What a shame! I sat on the comfortable red leather lounge one time and thought how well a foyer bar would go here to invite guests to use this wonderful space. Our room was spacious with a small sitting area one end and a desk at the other. The bathroom was well appointed and spacious. We d... Read more

I was part of a seminar that stayed here at the end of our journey along the Camino de Santiago. I stayed here 4 nights. Everything was outstanding, beginning with the counter staff, who were helpful in every way. Very professional and spoke English. The breakfast was buffet style and more than ample. Fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, pastries, meats, dairy etc. The coffee was excellent and plentiful. The room was large, very comfortable, with good flat screen tv, chairs, a table, a beautiful bathr... Read more

Very convenient hotel situated a short distance from the old town of Santiago with all modern facilities and a very good breakfast menu with a wide choice of food. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable with no noise from the street below day or night. Staff were most courteous at all times.

This hotel is very beautiful no doubt about that but there is no rooftop. It is listed here on hotels.com but not anywhere at the hotel. We tried to check it out anyway and there was just a small roof with ventilations and wires and stuff. We also had no ropes or slippers in our room.

I stayed in this hotel only one day. It looks 5stars hotel and on the photos it looks different but in fact it was quite old. All furnitures were old and the room was little bit smelly, it was smelling old furniture and this is not good. The bed and toilet were clean but I could not be sure the rest. When I ask you invoice for my hotel they asked for a number that I never heard and They could not make my invoice properly. This was negative for me as other hotels made it with information I gave s... Read more

Well located near main square. Very spacious room with large bed. Toilet clean. No problem with light or street noise. Very important in a city like Santiago - private parking plaza in the hotel. Problems with wifi in the room.

True value for money. Friendly/Helpful staff, great location. Spacious room compared to the European standard. A number of convenient places to eat near by. 5 Minutes walk from Alameda Park and 10 minutes walk to the Cathedral

Visited the hotel last weekend. Lovely friendly staff. Good breakfast fare and free WIFI, spacious soundproof bedroom (disabled) with only shower - would have preferred a bath as well. Unfortunate odour of damp in bathroom and shower not easy to regulate - tap came off at one point. A good gym and dipping pool but not easy to get in - however appreciated facility in the heat of summer. Near to main part of town, cathedral and park.

When planning our trip we were very clear that we wanted something rest and recuperation in Santiago after our Camino adventure. We looked at a number of options and this place just felt right. We have not been disappointed and are do glad we chose this place. Even though we arrived somewhat disheveled and the worse for wear after walking the final 25 miles to Santiago de Compostela in one day, we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and check-in was very quick and efficient. This hotel is located just off the main centre of Santiago - literally less than 500 metres from the Cathedral. An impressive ground floor reception area with marbled floors and pillars together with water features. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are large and generous compared to some other hotels. The beds are equally large - and very comfortable. There is an out door swimming pool (which we did not use). Car parking is available - but be prepared to negotiate some fairly tight co... Read more

I read the reviews and thought this hotel would be an ideal one night stop for business. I saw one review saying how good the parking was. It is not, the spaces are so small that if a car parks next to you, you will not be able to get out. The staff are nice and friendly and the location is great in the middle of town. I was staying on the 1st floor. The level of noise from below (the kitchen or dining room) kept me awake until 2am and woke me up at 7am. Just terrible, and that combined with th... Read more

We picked the Aragueney because it is near to the Cathedral and has parking, fortunately despite the road outside the hotel being dug up the signs to the hotel are really good for a big city.Staff on reception were very welcoming and skilled in explaining how to find places, they all spoke English which was very useful in our finding our way around Santiago. We stayed four nights, having one superb meal in the dining room and we also used room service on a Sunday night when the restaurant was clo... findng a room, reasonably priced, close to the cathedral in Santiago is not easy. The previous time I spent 70 euro for a room con bagno compartido in a very basic pension. It was a surprise for me to find this hotel, 5 stars close to ver center and paying less than 100 euros. Spacious rooms, kind welcoming personnel. Don't forget to visit the sauna if you need some relax.

A first class hotel, with large, comfortable rooms and great service. The talented domestic staff left origami animals made out of towels on our freshly made bed every day! The breakfasts are fantastic! Compostela is a 'must do before you die' experience. We attended mass in the Cathedral on the 2th October, with is Spain's National Day. We saw the lighting and swinging of the famous incense burner in the Cathedral, which is something I will never forget.

We stayed here 3 nights in September and could not have been happier. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was great especially at the front desk. The underground parking was ideal. However we did not eat any meals here.

The room I stayed in for 2 nights on the 4th floor was outstanding. It was very spacious with a very comfortable large bed. The bathroom was superb. This was a great treat after my Camino and not too expensive. The staff were very helpful, professional and accommodating. I would certainly stay here again when I hopefully return.

There is a certain acquired taste of elegance to the hotel. It occupies a large impressive corner plot in a built-up area. All the staff are welcoming and pleasant. Our room was large and well appointed. It is situated a 15 minute walk from the historical centre of Sanitago. The Hotel is centrally situated about 15 mins slow walk to the Cathedral and Historic quarter. There is an underground car park which is secure, obviously at extra cost.. The street approach to the hotel car park is narrow so be careful. There is a restaurant and bar on site but expensive, lots of cafes within easy reach. The rooms are modern and have TV with a limited number of international stations. The staff are very helpful. A superb hotel.
