This is a lovely hotel in a stunning location right on the bay. We had a sea view. Although the weather was wet and rainy we could see this is a lovely area. The room was very nice with lovely bed and furnishings. We would definately stay here again.

Pros: sea side room has a wonderful view, stuff is excellent, comfortable bed, excellent bathroom, airconditional system silent Cons: furnitures are old and show wear, small glasses for juice at breakfast, slow elevator, no ceiling lights in the room, lack of parking place in summer.

Very nice hotel!! Nice and helpful staff, great location with view of the beach, and the city center of Santander is a nice walk along the beach away (most of the way). Parking next to the hotel was a big plus.

We caught the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander as the first part of our journey through Spain to the Costa Del Sol. So glad we decided to make this a stopover to get back our land-legs. About 15 minutes from the ferry port, but a simply delightful coastal drive, this hotel ticked all the boxes - we had sea views of the magnificent two El Sardinero beaches (golden sands, surfers, beach cafes, boats - and close to the Casino, plus a distant view of the golf course on the headland!). Our aftern... Read more

We arrived Saturday afternoon after three weeks on the road with our dog. We deserved a treat and we were very satisfied with our room and the facilities it offered. The bed was comfortable with a sea view. It is to be noted that dog shared rooms have Amtiko flooring and so is a little skittish for dogs who seem to wear four steel tipped shoes and perform RiverDance upon it. No doubt easy to clean in the event of a mishap. The breakfast at ?14.50 pp was a little steep so we declined that. The... Read more

A very nice hotel, placed across the street from a beautiful beach. This is one time when my philosophy on hotels failed. I have always believed that an hotel is just some place to bathe and sleep when you visit a city. Well, another adage poked it's scaly head into the equation, "You get what you pay for". Had I known what a great view we would have had, when making reservations, I would gladly have paid the fare to have the view. The room was the nicest of our twelve-day (7 hotel) trip, a... Read more

Very poor and surly service. Dining room not open for dinner and cafe had nothing. Held on to passports which is unusual and happened no where else in Spain. Breakfast buffet was a nightmare. Unclean, no wait staff, terrible food and every where we turned in hotel there was woman with a mop...lovely for eating. I very seldom post a negative review but the lack of interest demonstrated by staff made it imperative I do so.

We stayed here for one night and the adjoining rooms for our large family were spacious and clean. The beds are super comfy and we had a lovely view over the seafront. The only issues were that the fridge in our room was not working so that all the drinks were warm and also the air conditioning didn't work so the room was very stuffy. I do think these things should have been checked. Also, it would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room as the only way to get a hot d... Read more

The hotel looks nice from the outside but the room decor is a bit dated. No real problem there. Some of the staff lack friendliness to a degree that borders on rudeness. However other staff is friendly and very helpful. My main concern with the stay was that in the morning I found my arms and hands covered in insect bites, just the areas where I hug the pillow at night. This can happen in the best of hotels, but: Time to call PEST CONTROL.

The trip was a combined conference and holiday trip. When booking the hotel, it was advertised as "fully refurbished, great location". Yes, the location next to the El Sardinero beach is very nice and the view from our room over the ocean was lovely, but the hotel is in poor shape. Old rooms, horrible beds, far from refurbished. The first two nights were horrendous as the management had decided that the air-conditioning should be switched off at night. Hence, we had no air and a scorching room. ... Read more

check in was efficient but not friendly our room was directly opp.the lift, we had a small balcony, with beautiful views of the lovely busy beach, and of the gardens opposite. Room was basic, comfy but a bit dated , but a great fridge! but the most complicated safe to operate twice we had to ask for assistance to open it 3rd time we gave up. The hop on/off busstop is closeby and is a great way of seeing the city. The service buses are plentiful and near costing 2euro 60cents for 2 into Santander,... Read more

It was not what we expected. Our room was nothing like those shown on the web site. It was an attic=like room on the top floor, with two small windows in the slanted portion of the roof. We had to stand up by the window to see out and even then there was no interesting view. The room was hot and there was no air conditioning . The lobby consists of two plastic chairs next to the entrance. I do no believe that this hotel deserves a 4 star rating.

We stayed here three nights and had a lovely ocean view. Check in was very efficient and the property has (very) small elevators. It has 'additive architecture' in that you have to be careful what elevator you get on because there are some steps to navigate because of different levels on each floor....not a big deal. Close to the ocean and within walking distance of a number of activities and sites in the area. Being vegetarians, we had some food issues, partly because most of the restaurant... Read more

The hotel was situated on the main beach front in the main area and was easy to find. You can park for free in the small car park next to the hotel or on the street. On arrival the man on reception was unfriendly and quite indifferent so not a good welcome. We took the lift to our room. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable and well maintained with two single beds. There was no coffee/tea facilities. The bathroom had a bath and shower and good toiletries. The room was nicely finished... Read more
