The rooms are nice, smaller compared to the other similar 4star hotel in this area.. But very pleasant reception and friendly.. nice to be in center of the city.. From the location of the hotel, the Sea is just less than 50 meters across, good and nice Churches around this place. walkable distance to Bus station, Train station and most of the cities shopping places and good restaurents

The staff were helpful and friendly at reception and in the cafe where we had breakfast. Our room was a good size with good wifi. The beds were large although slightly harder than I prefer. Most importantly it was in a very good location in the centre close to shopping restaurants and bars.

After several bad experiences of 4* hotels (not this chain) we were so relieved to be greeted on arrival by reception staff who were expecting us, had a room ready into which our bags had already been moved and who were quick, friendly and helpful. Our room on the 6th floor was superb; large, bright with a massive double bed and a huge bathroom with bath and shower. Every member of staff we met in the hotel from the housekeeping staff to the restaurant staff were friendly, knowledgeable and help... Read more

Great Hotel, right in the Center of town. Seafront only a five min walk, as are all the main pubs and bars. Room was excellent, ours overlooked the main road, but with window closed and blinds drawn we had a good nights sleep. We had to pay an extra ‚?¨18 euros for overnight secure parking which we felt was expensive in comparison to what we have paid in the past. Breakfast was very good. Staff spoke good English! Thank you ū???

Hotel was very close to bars and restaurants and within walking distance of the Marina. Hotel was very clean with fantastic staff especially those in reception who were always eager to help. Breakfast was of a very high standard with plenty of choice.

We stayed here only for one night and liked the position and the hotel overall. We had a very good price and had breakfast at the hotel cafeteria for a very reasonable price too. Silken hotels are usually standard and look a bit all the same. This used to be a former cinema and from certain things you can also tell. The position is right in the center of Santander.

The hotel is in a decent location, but there's nothing about it that stands out, save for the attempts to have you pay for wifi (the free wifi option which lasts for 24 hours - but which you can renew each day - is poor). It also looks a little old fashioned and tired. It's a reasonable choice if you are in the city, but no more than that.

hotel is well placed for sightseeing that is about the only plus too staying there. Our room 319 had really badly stained carpet really badly stained, the view was awful looking straight on to another room with washing hanging out, the bar in the hotel was without atmosphere, made to feel we were a nuisance ,not paying customers

The hotel is perfectly placed if you require a city centre hotel near the shops however if you want the beaches or the conference centre it's a good 30 minute walk It's a little tired around the edges but it's clean and the staff were friendly although I am guessing that as they don't speak a lot of English but they smiled broadly ! The breakfast was basic , but filled a hole I had room 217 which overlooked a apartment block with washing hanging out , but it was quiet It was quite expensive ,... Read more

Centrally situated, easy stroll to shops, seafront, bars and restaurants, tourist info etc. 10 - 15 minutes from bus and train station. About an hour's drive from Portes and Pico de Europe - lovely mountains, picturesque villages etc. Hotel very clean, staff cheerful and very helpful, secure underground car park. Lovely Italian restaurant a few doors away and lovely cafe almost next door. Our second stay here (stayed end of June start of July for 5 days) and would stay again.

Our group of 11 persons stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, booking with Sinead of ICon travel, Ireland. We found the hotel very central to many places we wanted to visit, and less than 10 minute walk to train/ Bus station. The staff made us feel very welcome, the breakfast was super, hotel was very clean throughout, with bedrooms a good size ,with good A/c. We would have no problem in recommending this hotel. Well done to all at the Silken.

We stayed here for one night after arriving on the Night/Day Ferry from Portsmouth and on our way to A Corunna. The hotel is in the heart of the city and it was a little bit daunting braving the city rush hour to get to the hotel but the good news is that it is only 6 minutes or so from the Ferry Terminal and we managed to navigate our way to it using the Bookings.Com directions and SatNav. The good new is that it has an underground secure parking but it isn't huge so I would recommend letting t... Read more

Not a lot of people from the UK stay in this city as they rush to catch the ferry home, but they should take at least one extra day and night to look around. Externally the hotel does look a bit like a cinema and the reception area as well (harking back to the Odeon and similar that we used to use way back then!). But it is definitely 4*. The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable and the service was exceptional. Only complaint was the breakfast cost E14 each which we thought was high, so we... Read more

First, what might be better ..... as in many continental hotels, there isn't a lobby as such, i.e. you can't really hang around here in comfort. Storage areas in the rooms are limited; for instance, there are no drawers. Rooms appear to have just one 'easy' chair, so they'e not great for staying in, on rainy days! The bar area is also rather limited and spartan, and there are none of the extras one tends to find in resort hotels, i.e. no pool, gym, etc. It's also a quite a slog to the (outstandi... Read more

The Silken Coliseum hotel is in a very central location of Santander which was one of the reasons we chose it, the other reason was for its onsite parking. The parking is underneath the hotel but only has a limited number of spaces, which can be a little tight if you have a large car. Parking is ‚?¨18 per day. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was okay, a little on the small side but we were only there one night. Also the room was looking a bit tired the carpet was threadbare in plac... I only stayed in the room for an afternoon while working, so did not get to experience much of it. Rooms were nice enough and clean, but a little on the small side. Bathroom was fairly average. Staff were very friendly, but think I would search for a different hotel if I were to return to Santander.

Good central hotel, stayed in superior room with excellent shower. Didn't have breakfast, cheap prices in hotel bar ( excellent service from barman). Good pizzas in restaurant next door. Breakfast available throughout city centre for around ‚?¨5. Airport bus runs every half hour to bus station for ‚?¨2.50 single, 5 mins walk to hotel.

Recently stayed for three nights whilst on a photographic workshop. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom well appointed although the basin was cracked. As the central heating is centrally controlled, the room was occasionally too hot. Breakfast was adequate with a choice of breads, cakes and pastries. The staff were very friendly. Overall the hotel provided a good base whilst on the workshop. The hotel was in the centre of Santander and had a good choice of shops and restaurants ... Read more

spent three pleasant nights there in November. the rooms are nice and fresh and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. the staff were so helpful. it has a nice lounge at the front of the hotel with reasonably priced drinks. we didn't go to the restaurant for breakfast as it was a bit pricey but you can get a reasonable light breakfast in the lounge. the hotel is surrounded by some lovely cafes and restaurants and a great Italian restaurant next door.
