Average priced 3 star hotel, booked all inclusive through First Choice/Thomson. Reasonable sized rooms. Have to pay extra for room safe and air con. The rooftop sun area has a jacuzzi which also has a separate screened off nudist area. The spa/wellness centre deserves special mention with its dead sea pool which is relaxing. If you wish to use the sauna, you have to be naked as it is in the naturist area. Overall convenient location with bus stop and taxi stand just in front of the hotel.

My husband and I spent Christmas here on a last minute choice after booking our flights back in June,we had to book somewhere, so the Escorial it was. We normally stay in adult only hotels, this one isn't, but there were hardly any children there, and they were under control anyway. First reactions on the room, yes quite tired, which doesn't really bother us, the beds are comfortable and we slept very well, we had a fourth floor room with a sea/mountain view. The dual carriageway at the rear was... Read more

Spent beginning of Jan here, weather has been lovely 20's. Got to the hotel to a not so nice welcome, a rude grumpy man that didn't even give us direction of where our room was. Not very helpful. Hotel very basic .. restaurant can be hectic which is fine but you have to get your own cutlery and drinks as the odd occasion they will ask you what you want to drink so it's quicker to get it yourself. Pool area is nice and roof top just gets busy quick. Around 2.30 3pm the sun goes behind a tal... Read more

Stayed from the 27th till New Years day. Fabulous experience. Nice room and excellent amenities such as an on site spa, bowling lane and games room, mini golf, roof top hot tub and nice outdoor pool and hot tube area on the main level. The food and drink on the all inclusive was of a high quality and the staff really out did themselves for our new years meal which was beautifully presented with champagne and a bottle of wine at every table and bacon wrapped fillet mignon as one of the dinner opt... I've spent the Christmas and the new eve in this hotel and I was a little disappointing. I hoped that this hotel was similar to Eugenia Victoria Hotel because they belong to the same group (Bull Hotel) and has the same 3 stars and the location is both in Playa del Inglês. The Christmas dinner wasn't so good and the waiters didn't serve at the table like they do in Eugenia Victoria. In fact if was a little chaotic because it had many persons to serve all at the same time. The persons walked in ... Read more

We visited the Escorial in February 2016 and didn't realise at the time just how good this hotel is. Having recently returned from an awful hotel in Tenerife we found ourselves using the Escorial as our benchmark. We had a twin room with balcony which included a large cane sofa to relax on in the evening or sit and watch the town wake up in the morning. The atmosphere of this hotel was so calm and relaxing. The guests are mainly German as it is German owned but they were all polite and friendly... Read more

We have just returned from the Escorial which is our second visit there, which is unusual for us. We returned as we were so impressed with the food and facilities. The food is really good with plenty of choice and variety. The spa and indoor facilities are impressive for a 3 star hotel.

We didn't choose the Escorial as our first choice.. but was very genuinely surprised. Warm and attentive staff ( ok so the one person in reception lets the team down.. ) and good attention to detail. Clean, comfortable and very very good value for money ( which I think some reviewers need to keep in mind). The wellness centre was fine. Pool area somewhat small ( didn't bother us at all) and entertainment at night a bit hit and miss BUT somehow the hotel delivers. I would say if you are in y... Read more

We arrived on Sunday night very late due to transport delays to the Hotel..we were greeted by the night porter / who dealt with giving us our room keys and safe key .we were on the ground floor room 117 at the end of the corridor,a very dated room , overlooking the rear garden and children's play area.. First morning we went to breakfast around 8.30 managed to find a table and waited ,the table was not set so we expected a waiter or waitress to come along put a clean tablecloth on and set the c... We have just returned home after our 7th year of visiting this hotel and once again we weren't disappointed. The staff were very helpful & polite and food was excellent with plenty of choice. Yes, as in some previous reviews, as being British we were in the minority however this has never been a problem to us. The hotel is looking a bit "tired" in places but we are already planning our next visit.
