We travelled as a family, myself, my husband and our 20 month old. I emailed the hotel prior to our stay to ask for a quiet room away from the entertainment in the evening. We were allocated room 003. About half way along the first floor corridor. The hotel is beautiful, the kids playpark is perfect and a welcome extra for our son who spent many hours on it. The apartment is well kitted out although we didn't do as much as take a spoon out of the drawer as we had booked full board. The staff are... Read more

Arrived late to the hotel (21.30 local time) and check in seemed a bit slow, however I noticed that the reception staff could speak several different languages which was impressive. We were directed to the room which was very clean and comfortable. Had TV (only English channel we could find was Sky News), two single beds pushed together and two beside cabinets, desk with drawer and fridge underneath, large wardrobe with safe inside (key required deposit). Just got back from a weeks stay at Dorada Palace (26/5 to 2/6). This hotel is in a great location, 10 minute walk to Portaventura and 5 minutes into town. As a family of 5 we normally have to book 2 rooms but here they have family suites. We had room 11, ground floor which was great, it was the corner suite with a huge patio/balcony that goes out to the childrens play park. The suite is broken into a double bedroom, a single bedroom and 2 beds in the main room with kitchenette. Much better than ... Read more

Very good hotel, clean and nicely decorated rooms, the staff is friendly and professional. The food is very good, a wide selection of different dishes. Good location, 10 minutes' walk of Port Aventura park and a large sandy beach with a large and beautifully landscaped promenade. Salou is a beautiful, clean city with lots of fountains and green areas. Well connected by road and rail from Tarragona and Barcelona

Stayed in 1 bedroom apartment. Spacious, good facilities - fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, plenty of storage. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Good size play area for kids. Food options in the restaurant were always really nice and varied. Can get a bit chaotic due to the number of people wanting to eat at a certain time with having young kids. Entertainment is okay. Found this hotel to be very good , food excellent, although meals times can get a little busy in the dinning room. Reception staff very helpful , at check in lady on reception noted we had a disabled traveller and offered us a free car parking space in the hotel garage. Just arrived back from a weeks stay at this fantastic hotel. The staff very helpful and rooms are spotless came back to a beautifully cleaned room every day & the room attendants were so friendly. We went full board and would highly recommend doing so as there was food to suit everyone & again the restaurant staff were excellent! Location was great too but it is on a slight hill but that wasn't a problem for us. Also our little boy had a fab time at the kids club too so would definitely return t... Read more

Upon arrival we managed to check in straight away which was quick and easy. Lovely girl on reception explained everything. Our room was very clean but very much on the small side for the 3 of us. (2 Adults 1 Child (age 8)). The chair bed for my daughter really was not suitable for sleeping at all. Just put in the corner as clearly the room was just a double for 2. Little annoying the fact that we paid for 3 yet only 2 glasses in the bathroom and 2 chairs on the balcony. If you sell these r... Read more

Stayed here with my husband and 8 year old son in October on a half board basis, the hotel is really nice, good pools, lovely bar and restaurant and apartment was spotless, I emailed before going to request a room with a pool view preferably a corner room and we got exactly that, one small balcony off the living area and a large semi circle balcony off the bedroom, staff were helpful and polite. Location is great, far enough to be away from the noise but still only a short walk to the main area ... Read more

This hotel is good for a pleasant relaxing stay just outside the town centre of Salou. The room itself is fine, clean, pretty good beds and cleaned daily with fresh towels. The pool is very nice, and is cold so its great jumping into it when the weather is hot. the poolside bar is also quite good, snacks and drinks and quite cheap too. We didn't use the other pools too much, but both seemed quite good. Sun loungers was never a problem as there are so many. Location is great, close to beach a... Read more

We picked this hotel because last year we had such a wonderful time and we couldn't wait to go back. But this visit wasn't nearly half as good as last years. We are only home two days and I have to say I was disappointed with a few things this year. I paid for two rooms (one for my older sons, and a bigger room for my husband and I with our youngest son) both rooms were the same size and as they had that one room was for two adults and two children in it (we only had 1 child) we had to pay an ex... Sitting in the lounge next to the resturant as i type. We have just checked out. this hotel is spotless, no complaints about food either i would recommend staying here if you are thinking of coming to Salou. I dont see how anyone could say anything negative unless they have a very bad case of OCD and would have to be very bad!!

Myself and my husband have just returned from a 7 night holiday at the Dorada Palace. The reception staff are very helpful and pleasant. The food at this hotel is excellent. The restaurant is extremely well run and all the staff work very hard. When you enter the restaurant you have to wait to be shown to a table, personally we would have liked to have chosen our own table, but they seat you so it is easier for the waitresses to clear up the tables. Unfortunately the restaurant was very noi... Read more

This hotel is only recieving an average and not poor rating due to the fact that it is spotless clean. Arrived in the early hours of the morning exhausted and with a young baby, was greeted at reception by a man who was all sweetness and light until it came time to hand over the cash, when we paid his whole demeanor changed, we even had to ask which direction is our room, as a new guest he should have pointed this out! Then the room, completely underwhelming and very small for three people but c... Read more

We went for 4 days in September. Staff were pleasant. Hotel and rooms were clean. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool. We were half board. Breakfast was fine, lots too choose from. We only had dinner in the hotel once, it was ok, not great though. Overall a great hotel in a good location!

Great hotel. Arrived and the receptionist was really nice and helpful. Apartment was gorgeous would definitely recommend getting the apartment instead of just a hotel room. We had our 2 year old and we had loads of room for her. Pool was great because the park was right beside it. Drinks were very cheap aswel. Nice location and lovely walk to shops and restaurants. Would 100% definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning next year.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dorada Palace and were pleasantly surprised by the quaility as it wasn't expensive. First thing I would say is it was very clean and fresh!! We couldn't fault the hotel for cleanliness and would say it was better than some 5 star hotels we have visited. The food was good and a highlight for me was this is the first holiday abroad where I have found Porridge for breakfast. Not only that but it was really good!! The facilities were good, the gym isn't great howeve... Read more

My family and I visited this hotel in 2000 and I have to say I wasn't sure it would be a good idea to return - we had such a great time with our young family! Well I needn't have worried! The hotel was clean, well organised and had a mixture of people - ages and nationalities. We were welcomed on our arrival, our rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were great especially the breakfast chef who made fab fresh omelettes on request! We decided on half board and although the food was good ... Read more

I visited this hotel with a friend for a weekend break in September. We were booked half board and on arrival asked if we could swop dinner for lunch but were told that was not possible. The hotel was very busy if you wanted breakfast before 9.30 and as it was not hotel policy to be shown to a table at breakfast it was extremely difficult to find one. The food was of a very poor quality and was cold. If we wanted something freshly made we had to stand in a queue for ages as there was only on... Read more

friendly staff ,spotlessly clean ,great food ,comfy beds ,great shower ,ticked all the boxes, swimming pools were great and lovely food at pool bar too,bit of craic with games in the afternoon too .the only setback we had was that our grand daughter had just had her 12th birthday and we had to pay adult price for her which was ok but she still had to sleep on a small sofa bed,she is only small so it was ok but another adult would have no comfort on it ,rooms lovely but really only big enough for ... Stayed here for 10 days and this hotel has certainly hit the skids! Visited the Dorara Palace about 15 year ago and it was good. Great hotel if you enjoy cold food, badly behaved screaming children and prams/buggies up your heels constantly. It was like being in a creche. Meal times were chaotic and extremely noisy. Certainly not for couples or if you want a relaxing holiday. If you complain you get seated right at the back of the restaurant each night. We had the smallest balcony ever! Only plu... Read more

Ideal location located 5 minute walk from beach, 2 min from main strip of shops, 3 min from main strip of bars/restaurants, 10-15 min walk to Portaventura ! This was our second stay at Dorada Palace Aparthotel in the last 3 years. It was just as we remembered with friendly staff, clean well maintained rooms and public areas, nice food and good location. My fiancée and I had a fortnight here in mid September, staying half board. Our room was overlooking the outdoor entertainment area, which was good for us as we could sit on the balcony and watch if we wanted to. If we didn't, it wasn't too loud when the balcony door was closed. The food was nice, ... Read more

A big hotel with a swiming pool, big tasety breakfast (although coffee was poor), walking distance to the sea and closed to Port Aventura park. You can find parking for free around the hotel. We had everything we needed, including free wi-fi, private bedroom, big bathroom including everything and even a well equiped small kitchen. The only problem was the noise- you can hear everything on the aprts. above and next door, and since this hotel is full even not in season, it can wake you up early o... Read more
