We stayed at the Hotel Monterrey in August 2015; superbly situated on the Passeig Maritim - the hotel makes the most of it's position with a fantastic terrace for a cheeky early evening sangria. Reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff were particularly helpful and service could not have been better - perhaps the 'slightly surly' bar staff could learn from them. Rooms were a little old-fashioned and basic - but did have a fridge to keep drinks cool. Balconies had a small table but only one ... Read more

very well located. this hotel is modern and clean, and the breakfast, even if in 'cafeteria style', is still very good. nice facilities, and a quick step to the beach. we were looking for a place last minute, and so can't complain about the 2nd floor; it was their last room. it might also explain the problems we experienced. wifi is spotty, on and off depending on your location in the room and time of day. front staff leaves much to be desired. we called ahead and were promised parking; we ar... Really nice hotel booked via Booking.com. We had 2 rooms on level 5, one with a sea view and one with the view of the side street and stayed on a B&B basis. Clean rooms and communal areas, the pool is a decent size and although a few people insisted on 'reserving' sun loungers with their towels, there were enough to go around. The hotel has a great location, right on the pedestrianised promenade so you can sit on the elevated bar terrace drinking a sangria and send your children to the beach (20... Read more

We stayed in the hotel for 6 nights with breakfast. The location of the hotel is perfect: it is directly on the beach, close to a lot of restaurants and only a few minutes walk to the center of Roses. The people on the reception were always very friendly and the hotel offers free bicycles for small trips (e.g. nationalparc). We booked a room without seaside on the side of the hotel, but we still had full view to the sea on our balcony, which was a very nice surprise. We were by far the youngest ... Read more

We have stayed here before,so obviously enjoy all the facilities and situation. We were so pleased to be dealt with by the young man on reception, whose name escapes me.Due to our foolishness we arrived to book in early and without the necessary documents. He took the time, with the blessing of his boss,to find us from a previous visit on the database. It was done with good humour and pleasantness...... PRICELESS! Thank you to this terrific hotel and the receptionist in particular.

Stayed here for 6 days on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. Right on the seafront in a quiet location and the walk into Roses town follows the coastline along the well kept promenade with plenty of seats along the way. Boat trips are available a short distance from the hotel at the opposite end of the promenade. A good selection of small cafes, restaurants, supermarket, lovely fruit & veg shop, clothing and gift shops right on the doorstep. Hotel was very clean and the bed/pillows really... Read more

Not having stayed at this particular hotel previously I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was surprised to find that it was only 3 star rated as the accommodation, service and especially the food were first class! Nothing was too much trouble and the way the food was prepared, displayed and served by the staff superb! I must also mention the behind the scenes staff also as they are so often neglected, I was there on business and therefore required some assistance, the staff were extremely h... Read more
