We choose this hotel because it was Melia - we love the brand! It is a Melia so you get what you expect up to a point - overall it is really nice but there are a few things that sort of took the edge off it. Location - if you want beach or close proximity to the city centre then move on. However it has stunning views across the Marina and our room had a breath taking view across to the Cathedral - especially after sunset as you opened the door, picture postcard view across the lights of the Ma... Recently upgraded the Hotel is now top quality and the location is superb overlooking the bay of Palma. There is nothing to criticise about the Hotel the only operational issue that could be dealt with is the problem with sun loungers. Some mornings (we arrived by 09.00 latest) well over 50% of the sun loungers had been reserved (towels or books) by people who then went off shopping and often didn't return until well after lunch thereby blocking those beds for people who were actually there. Having usually gone to Balearics for sea side holidays, this was our first city break but definitely not our last. This hotel is brilliant situated overlooking Palma Marina with a great view of the famous Palma cathedral. It took us 10-15 minutes to walk along the harbour-side (traffic free) to the centre of Palma. We had a Junior Suite which gave us access to The Level Lounge which was a great bonus with snacks and drinks available all day and evening - great place for a morning coffee, af... Read more

Great location, staff excellent, value for money, Level lounge worth the extra cost if you like a drink! Gym needs additional free weights, more sun umbrellas needed at the pool in high season, overall exceptional value for money.

This is our second time at the Melia and definately won't be our last. Treated ourselves to a short break away from the kids. The rooms are comfortable with fabulous large beds ,the view of the Marina , sea and cathedral. Booking a sea view is highly recommended . Well stocked mini bar with free water. Large bathroom inc hair dryer , toiletries and anything else you would need while away. Daily maid service and nice bar in reception. Would advise a trip to the pirate show even without the kids. ... The hotel lobby is grand. We were then taken to our Classic room - which means you don't have a sea view! Our room 338 at the rear of the hotel had a view of a wall and nearby concrete blocks. At the rear of the hotel there are also located numerous nightclubs and a strip bar - so may get lots of noise in the early hours. Apart from the view the room is what you would expect. Breakfast is good. The pool area is very nice, but there is a lack of sunbeds. These tend to get reserved very early by p... Read more

We spent a few days here on a quick break to the sunshine and I was impressed from the minute I arrived. Reception is large and impressive, reception staff were friendly and helpful, check in was easy. We were on the 8th floor, didn't pay for a sea view so we were around the back so looked out over the castle and streets at the back - room 844. It would've been nice to have a sea view as its in such a lovely spot but we hardly spent any time in the room. If you don't get a sea view ask for a ... Read more

Good standard of hotel which you would expect from the Melia group although I've stayed in better. We've just returned from 5 nights at the hotel and managed to get an 8th floor room overlooking the Marina and Cathedral. The room was clean but fairly basic but the views are really fantastic watching the cruise ships come in and out. The hotel lends itself very much to the business community and there were quite a few conferences going on whilst we were there, however, they didn't disrupt our sta... Read more

Checked in at 11am and room was ready, clean and fine for our needs. Hotel pool overlooking the harbour was great as was the bar and sun loungers around the pool- lots were free and towels were provided which was great as we travelled light. Breakfast provided a huge choice of fairly decent food. The location of the hotel was 2km or 20-30 mins walk into the main town area along the harbour front - it seems a long way but the walk is a nice one. Taxi was 5 euros if needed. Large hotel with good facilities and pool area. Its near the main road which doesn't make it the quietest pool but means its very close to walk into the centre of Palma (10 mins). It appears to be a popular hotel for conferences and there also seemed a few stag and hen doors visiting when we were there, however they didn't cause us any issues. Did not manage to get a full nights sleep because of street noise..General area was not good and felt quite uncomfortable while walking back to the hotel at night ...I would not make a return visit but we really enjoyed Palma it is a fabulous city with so much going for it that a return is on my list. I found other areas of the city to be much more satisfactory and would strongly advise vacation visitors to have a good look around before booking a hotel

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, toiletries were provided daily, hairdryer was reasonable, the bed was spacious and comfy. drinks around the pool were reasonably priced, pool clean with towels provided. We ate at the adjoining tapas restaurant which was very good. We didn't book a full sea view but had a partial one, this was fine as we were there to go out and about not sit on the balcony all night.

We stayed for one night as our flight was the next day. We originally chose this hotel rather than one sited in the historic district as it advertised car parking. The exterior was not that imposing, but going inside was another thing with a large open air conditioned reception and bar area. The pool terrace is quite large but this is a big hotel. During our stay (mid June before real holiday season) it did not seem particularly busy but the first day we arrived there were no sun loungers available and people were sunbathing on towels scattered over the terrace. There were not enoug sun umbrellas to the point people must have been getting up at the crack of dawn to 'reserve' one.

If you like modern this will please you . The interior design is certainly that! However I personally found it soulless and lacking in character. The meeting room was clean and chairs comfortable. Internally the building could be anywhere . However the pool Terrace has the most breathtaking views of Palma Harbour and the cathedral . Staff were efficient friendly and helpful . Tea and coffee was accompanied by a delicious selection of pastries.

The service was also very good and they are geniunely a bunch of friendly people. Modern interiors with slow wifi connection though.

Booked this originally for our honeymoon, our wedding got postponed but we went on the holiday anyway. Advised the Melia Palas Atenea in advance that it was a honeymoon and requested king bed configuration. Paid £900 for a week in a Grand Premium Sea View room. Outdated, tacky rooms with absolutely no character. Small, outdated pool area with a minimal number of umbrellas for shade. The only reason this is called a resort is because of the stunning view. Unfortunately the Victoria was full on this visit. Maybe we've been spoilt in the past?? We are Melia members and have stayed at their hotels in many different countries. Mallorca is a favourite. This hotel does not warrant 4 stars. Unfortunately, and we can't actually blame the hotel for this part, we were treated to ... Read more

This hotel is in a good location. You can walk to most places. The rooms are a good size. There is a blue light in the room which I found rather odd and also a love seat which was odd but fun to spin around on. The bathroom and shower are good. No complaints. The only thing I would say is that I can't stand hotels that only want guests to use one towel each per day. I use two per day and each day kept having call down to ask for extra. Rather annoying! Breakfast was nice. Great choice! Poo... Read more

Stayed here in Mid July, really Friendly staff, absolutely fantastic reception and bar area. Probably one of the best in Palma. Stayed in a Junior suite, but was a little disappointed. Not the Hotels fault, but am used to bigger rooms and a bigger bathrooms. But at around 275Euros a night it was good value for the money. Staff were friendly and extremely friendly. Only One downside the WI Fi is very poor with no signal between 1600-1900 hours.

Best value for money in Terreno, a lot cheaper than Melia Victoria and, in most areas, as good or better. Only bigger issue was the slow WiFi connection, this may depend on the location of the room. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good seaview, all very nice.

Stayed for 6 nights at the Palas Atenea in June with my husband. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but for me the hotel was fairly average. We arrived late on a Friday night, & wasn't quite sure if we were being dropped off at a hotel or a nightclub - it gets busy & noisy on the strip at the front of the hotel late at night. However once inside the hotel the check in was easy, the reception staff friendly, & they were helpful with other enquiries we made during our stay. Breakfast is brilliant, ... Read more

We stayed in Palma after a weeks sailing around the southern coast of Mallorca and was a welcome break from the offshore weather in the area with rolling seas and NE winds of 25knts. The Melia Palas looks like it's had some refurb work done to a high standard, with most parts of the rooms refitted with a series of funky blue glowing features which look pretty good, tho some parts like the older mirror cupboards were a bit 80's throwback (Retro!?). The frontage is fitting with the look and feel of the road but once inside you know you are in for a treat. Open plan entrance, a white open bar and a long checkin desk almost hidden away. The staff were quick to check me and I was in my room within minutes. First stop the pool area and bar. Great views and lots of chairs and fair size pool for swimming. Menu ... Read more

Stayed in September 2016. Group of young couples celebrating a 30th. The hotel rooms are really nice and very clean. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. I really like the UV lights and white interior. We had a partial view of the Marina which means if you step onto your balcony and look left it's a lovely view, look right and there are dilapidated scruffy buildings. This is no fault of the hotel. The hotel is right on the Marina and has shops, restaurants and amenities close... Read more

We had a room with seaside view. It was an amazing view. We have enjoyed our stay there. Also we had a nice SPA experience at Meli√° Palas Atenea. And the stuff made it even more beautiful. Thank you, dear Angel!

I have stayed in the hotel before and once again had an excellent stay. The hotel in a excellent location perfect for visiting Palma or local beaches with bus stops outside the hotel. worth paying extra for the sea view.

We just had a short break of 4 days in Palma. This was our third at the Melia Palas Atenea (we are generally big Melia fans). It never disappoints. Worth paying a bit more for the sea view and the Level. Perfectly placed for excellent restaurants near-by. We did not dine in, but breakfast at the PA is wonderful, so the mile walk to the old town is ideal for some enforced exercise!

A wonderful holiday with only one complaint which relates to the 'up graded' business centre, which from a personal perspective is from from an upgrade. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and the previous location/equipment was much preferable. However, the room, service and food were great and it is a brilliant location.

I stayed at this property for a work meeting and it was decent. I would give it 3.5 dots if I could... so leaning more toward good than average. The hospitality is really excellent. The staff members were really nice. No issues on this front. It seemed that they had renovated the rooms at some point, but the renovation job seemed rushed and incomplete. There were some gaps in the edges in the bathroom, like you were in a bit of a construction zone. Some of the fine details just weren't ... Read more

Small room with single beds allocated when I had booked a double. Facilities not particularly clean. Reception staff not very friendly. Paid extra for a 'premium' room which did not live up to my expectations. Have stayed at this hotel many times for business trips but it seems to have gone downhill since my last visit. I will not be booking again.

Am staying here at the moment for a half term break with my young daughter. Booked last minute. Usually go for 5* so was looking at sister hotel Gran Melia Victoria, but my husband had to pull out last minute due to work commitments. Felt guilty spending too much on a hotel in his absence so thought I'd try and this cheaper hotel instead. Was actually pleasantly surprised as it was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Nothing much to look at from outside but then again none of the hotels... Read more

The hotel is centrally located, closed to the port and restaurants, walking distance from the Cathedral and central Palma. The room had adjoining beds instead of a large bed as requested. The windows are not sound proof, could hear people and traffic in the street all night every night, could not sleep a wink! Room is said to have been renovated, but paint was chipped on pretty much every wall, furnishing were quite old and worn out. Bathroom had water stains on the ceiling. Breakfast was quite ... We asked for a sea view and got a view of a pub and flats.Very noisy side street. Excellent breakfast, dinner was disappointing and expensive. Need to pay extra to use the indoor pool. Rooms are a good size- If I was to visit Mallorca againWould not go back to this hotel.

I stayed here for 4 nights in a classic room. The room we was checked into had a large amount of hair in the bathroom, on the floors and under furniture. The floor had clearly not been vacuumed or swept and there was crumbs, dust and hair under the tables. The unit with kettle had coffee stained splashed up the side and there was a white stain on the throw. We went to reception to raise the issue of the poor level of cleanliness and was allocated another room. There was no apology just a comment... Read more

Slightly old fashioned and not well maintained in corridor areas, however, apparently renovation is underway. A bit too expensive for the quality, although very good overall. Not situated in the historic centre

A recent business trip for 4-nights. Really good value and an excellent room with outstanding views of harbour. Very good and clean gym with everything you need. I didn't get to try the restaurant but did eat from the snack menu at the bar which was very good and reasonably priced. Would definitely book this hotel again if in the area.
