Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. My room was absolute luxury. Clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet was something to look forward to every morning, so much to choose from. Lovely outside pools with views of the sea. Not much to do nearby however. We needed to take taxi's a lot to find things to do.

We had a great stay in this luxury hotel for a more than reasonable price. They really understand hospitality and both the room itself and the common areas are very convenient to stay in. We will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to our friends.

Beautiful gardens and pool areas. Very confortable room and friendly staff. We booked the supplement for the Beach Club so we could also use the Gym & indoor spa as well as be near the beach. The only inconvenience is having to walk down the 300 or so meters (a pain if you forgot something in your room). The breakfast is excellent.

We had a great stay. Two things to be aware of is that the wifi was poor and the gym that is advertised costs extra (it was mentioned that there was one for free but we were never able to locate it as there were no signs and the staff all said something different ). Pool area was beautiful and quiet, staff were friendly and the bed was really comfortable! We would return if we ever come to Marbella again.

Joined beds are uncomfortable, I would much rather prefer a king size bed. Lighting was a bit scarce in the room and door was not sound proof. Lunch time food was poor for the price. Location a bit far from amenities. Everything else was PERFECT, especially breakfast and staff.

We booked a four day break at the hotel... On arrival staff were extremely polite , friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are amazing with double marble sinks, huge bath and walk in shower. Beds are huge and comfortable, the balcony was spacious , everything you need for a quiet luxury break. There are three pools , all with a mix of both double and single sun beds , clean beach towels are provided everyday. ... Read more

Hotel is only a year old and grounds are impeccable. We had originally been considering Finca Cortesin which has exceptional reviews but a little too far from Malaga airport (90mins) and at least twice the price. Estrella Del Mar is an excellent hotel, rooms including the bathroom are a very good size. Selection and quality of food at the breakfast buffet was excellent. Dinner not so, we only went once and decided to cut our losses and eat out in Marbella. But we do love our food. I notice peo... Read more

We stayed here one night while waiting to take a flight out of Malaga back to the US after a wonderful 10 days in Spain. This is a well appointed hotel with some excellent features and a ver friendly and attentive staff. I regret we were unable to enjoy the breakfast as it came with the room and the buffet looked fabulous. The room we had overlooked the pool and if you don't mind the noise from the kids in the pool, the view of the beach is fabulous. I would definitely consider this hotel on a r... Read more

Just returned from this very nice hotel, weather was fantastic as were the rooms and also the staff were as good as we have come across, it is out of the way a bit, but we knew that beforehand and added to the experience for us, a short stroll to the beach and beach club from the hotel, the beach is nice with a very welcoming bar at the entrance. We took advantage of a beach club promotion of a day at the club with lunch throw in, for 49 euros each, was a complete bargain and would recommend doi... Read more

I stayed in this hotel on a recent trip to Malaga for a wedding. The hotel itself and amenities were nice however I found the service poor for a "5 star" hotel which the hotel often reminds you... During a 4 night stay I had 3 separate complaints - firstly, the service at breakfast was so poor I had to wait 10 minutes for somebody to come and clean my table. They never arrived and so I had to clean it myself. Then as I was going to a wedding I requested an iron. I requested it the night before a... Read more

We booked this hotel last minute through Expedia and didn't know what to expect. When we arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised, lovely reception with helpful staff who offered us a glass of cava on arrival and checked us in very quickly. The hotel was beautiful, choice of 3 pools, delicious food and wine! We had a lovely short stay there and would definitely recommend it.

This is a nice hotel but somewhat out of the way. There is no where to go for a walk and is mostly a residential area. The rooms are nice but I don't feel it is a five star hotel. The staff in the restaurant were very nice and attentive, but the food was not varied enough, there was not a lot of choice and if you had children there was nothing really for them. Although I am sure if you spoke to the Chef they would try and accommodate you. The pool area is nice and we managed to get a sunbed each... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days in July. Firstly the hotel itself is very modern, clean and peaceful. We arrived around 11.45am and upon arrival our bags were taken from the car by the bell boy and delivered inside. Our room wasn't ready which was an issue at first. Hotel was ok not really special. Food is average. Room service was probably the best thing about this hotel. There is nothing around the hotel to do since it's far from town. If you want to go to the beach there is extra charges so it's quite limiting with what you can do during the day! No tennis courts or gardens, just a small garden between two swimming pools. Not really a family hotel. I won't go back to this hotel again.

But taxis are available at all time to and from. Staff were kind and very helpful, I liked the ambience of the hotel and loved to have my latte outside in the garden..Families with kids would love this place .

Two ladies, needed a catch-up and a gab, some R&R and comfort. Room was great, plenty of room for us both without feeling like we were on top of each other. We dined in most nights and the food was fine (typical buffet style but good quality and a lot freshly cooked for you) Great spa on site and a cracking little day at the posh-bit down the road on the beach... All in all a really lovely place and the staff were cracking.

This is our 6th visit to this fabulous hotel and we were just as delighted with it as before. The room was large with a lovely balcony overlooking the pools and with a sea view. We spent the entire three weeks at the Beach Spa, which is a short stroll down the hill away from the main buildings, and enjoyed every minute of it. The Spa area is adults only and is extra money, but well worth it. The staff at the hotel all work extremely hard to make your stay special and are professional and friendl... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The rooms were perfect: clean, big enough, with a little terrace...but the thing that we like the most was the personnel. They were very kind and polite, even if they were with a lot of people, they always try to help you and make your stay perfect.

My wife and I stayed here for the second half of our travel to Marbella. Upon check in we were upgraded at no cost. We had the option to pay for the Estrella del Mar Beach Club at a reduced rate upfront which we did. We wished we would have waived that as we never used it so that was a waist of about $250 USD. Its a very beautiful and relaxing resort. We loved the pools. The food was good (my squid ink pasta was a bit odd) but overall very good. The staff was amazing and very friendly, and bilin... I was a little sceptical before getting to this place. I booked it on a bit of a whim, as we got a relatively good deal. £765 for 5 nights, and was closer to £2k. I find it hard to believe people would pay £2k to stay here - so it might well have been rubbish, but I booked none the less. The hotel is situated about a 10 min drive from Marbella old town, and it has a sort of in the middle of nowhere feel. Which is what I think people want from this place. The rooms are absolutely stunning - ... Read more

Having stayed at many hotels Along this coastline we were recommended to this Hotel as we wanted somewhere luxurious & comfortable to stay but within easy reach of Marbella old town & other nearby restaurants. We were not disappointed, from the moment all 6 of us arrived we loved the decor, tranquility & comfort our rooms provided as well as a fabulous choice of swimming pools and close proximity of the beach. The buffet style breakfast had a very good choice and the staff were extremely attent... Read more

Interesting architecture, beautiful garden and pools. Room with a view is more costly. Because Las Chapas is a residential area, to visit restaurants etc you need a car. Unless you love to walk the beach at night. Baraka restaurant has a good atmosphere, lunch outside soso. No coffee/tea in the room. Overpriced for a 4 1/2? Star hotel.

Just came back from 10 wonderful days at this perfect hotel. Rooms are lovely and with great views over all 4 swimming pools. Only 100 metres from a great beach. Beach house very luxurious. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast had an enormous selection of food and evening buffet was very reasonable in price with an excellent choice. All in all an excellent 5 star hotel. Can't wait to come back.

Not on the beach as per adverts. Extra to pay to go to beach/spa. Noisy guests waking you up in early hours of the morning. â?¬3.50 for a small bottle of water and no shops within walking distance for everyone to buy it at the cost you can get it for. 15 mins carrying 6 bottles of cheap water is a long way when it's hot. (Hate being ripped off). 5* but no service around the pool!!! If you want it you have to get it yourself and at the prices charged feel this is unacceptable. The food however... Read more

I'm afraid it's another 5 star review from me, but I don't book anything unless I've done my homework. This hotel is not in the centre of things, it's a short taxi ride into main Marbella. We booked a 5 day mini break with the intention of not leaving the hotel, so we looked for a quiet location, choice of onsite restaurants, a spa and lovely pool areas ... and that's what you get at the Del Mar. Staff are so friendly and attentive, rooms are large and very comfortable and the food is varied,... Read more

Arrived yesterday for 2 weeks in the sun before another west central Scotland winter, to be enthusiastically welcomed at reception and with a glass of well chilled Cava! Our room is a superior with sea view which also overlooks 2 of the hotels pools. The room is well appointed with virtually every amenity you could ask for, except one - the air conditioning is on the blank in the whole block. However as we are now in Spanish winter, it's not that big a problem and was fine over night. It shoul... Read more

Very well kept, new, fresh, clean hotel. Staff incredibly friendly and breakfast buffet was faultless. Only criticism was the housekeeping not taking my suit which I put out for pressing, but when I dropped it to reception they made a call and got it done the same day. Very professional and comfortable place.

Everything about this stay was perfect. We went with 10 friend for 4 days. The facilities were excellent, rooms very spacious, clean and comfortable, fantastic bathroom! The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Pool areas were great, with ample space and sun loungers for all that wanted them. Weather also fantastic. Although a little way out of central Marbella, it was very easy to reach, taxi 15-20 euro. All in all, we had a superb time. Drinks at the ... Read more

We organized our wedding at the beach club and the support, staff, atmosphere etc. was really perfect! Had the day of our life! The hotel was disappointing in respect of restaurant staff. Room was great! Reception and pool staff really friendly but the staff at restaurant was not really welcoming. For us personally a bit too stiff. We love the Andalusian style, hospitality and people and missed that here. Again the beach club and its staff did a great job! Thanks for that!

Been here before and I believe we gave it 5*..it still is a lovely, quiet and relaxing hotel. The staff are marvellous and look to be happy and hard working. The rooms are lovely, well looked after and all have balconys. Ours this time looked over the bottom pool, it's so quiet that you could sit outside on the balcony and not be disturbed. The breakfasts are like most 5*, fresh juices, fruit, cooked breakfasts if you want it, fresh cheese and vegetables. Lovely surrounding pool areas, nice soft... Read more

We Visited for our wedding anniversary. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean , a few areas need some attention such as the cushions on the benches in reception. The hotel was quite busy but we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and relaxed it felt. The food was well presented and there was a good choice of dishes every day.
