I booked this hotel through a deal with Monarch Airlines. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious. As with previous reviews the hotel needs updating. The reception staff are not very knowledgeable or helpful. There are too many extras ( having pay for a room safe, deposit for an iron with no iron board, deposit for a beach towel ). There seems no customer trust. The residents bar closes at midnight. The hotel could do with possibly not accepting large groups too ( hen and stag parties ) ... Read more

Their was no entertainment or tv in the bar area which made the evenings very dull. Pool area good which is on the roof

Not that the hotel can do anything about this . Centrally situated with the old town a 20 min walk or a bus outside the hotel Normally go to Marbella every year and would book this hotel again

Stayed here for 5 days and nights B&B last week as a base for a golf trip with 7 friends and loved it. The staff were very helpful especially with our late night arrival and were always cheery and polite. The rooms were very clean and spacious considering we had 2 sets of golf clubs in there and the free safe for valuables was used a lot. The roof terrace pool and bar (when open) were fantastic for unwinding and cooling down after a hot round of golf. It's only a 10 minute stroll to the seafro... Read more

The reception here was warm and friendly and our spirits were lifted by the spacious, well finished room. The ample balcony provided stunning views to the West, taking in both the sea and mountains. Sadly, the food did not live upmtonthis standard. Tinned peaches and pears is not nearly good enough. Queues for eggs, bacon and the coffee machine were commonplace. The hotel is pretty spare in terms of personality. The breakfast restaurant feels like you are in a hall somewhere, but the food is plentiful and the choice wide. The rooms are comfortable but pretty standard. A balcony is a nice addition. I was there for a wedding so needed my suit/shirt to be pressed. The outside area is just awful I cannot find any other way of describing it and I cannot be bothered to detail all the things that are wrong with it. The Room was spotlessly clean and maintained throughout the week to an excellent standard. Really can't say enough good things about the hotel staff. They were eager and willing to help with all our questions and (Without exception) were Efficient and kind. The hotel location is fab, several good restauran... Read more

Myself and 15 others have just returned from a great long weekend at the Senator Marbella for a hen weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, comfy rooms, lovely views from the balcony and a rooftop pool overlooking Marbella. It was also 5 minutes walk to the beach where you can find lots of restaurants. We only did bed & breakfast in the hotel, which was basic but was sufficient. Service at the bar was pretty slow but the staff were very friendly and always willing to help. This hote... Read more

After arriving at the hotel we was stunned to find out that every single person needed identifaction, which wasn't listed on their website, so despise travelling nearly 1 and a half hours we had to turn back to get identification. When we returned the staff was nothing but unhelpful and rude. Sour faced girls at reception. Then they decided to tell us out room wasn't going to be ready until mid afternoon despite the fact we was told to check in at 12pm. The food was nothing but slop, not many o... Read more

Books this hate through our golfing agent, not having spent a lot of time on the the Costas, we relied on advice from the tour operator. The hotel is closer to the busy main road rather than the beach, the beach being about 5 to 10 minutes walk. The welcome from the staff was standard and friendly the reception doubles as the bar area, the seats at then bar are no good for wide bums. WE were on the 1st floor good sized rooms enormous bath room in 101 but sadly no bath, however, an excellent show... Read more

I have recently got back from a long weekend break in Marbella, staying at the Senator. The Senator is a brilliant hotel, in an ideal location - just around a 5 minute walk to Marbella front, where you will find the beach and numerous bars and restaurants. The hotel is immaculate, maid service daily with clean towels. There is a spa within the hotel - we got a free pass to use the spa for a couple of hours - I would recommend anyone to try it - sauna, steam rooms, ice rooms, indoor heated swimmi... Read more

16 of us spent a great weekend here for a friends hen party. The rooms were excellent with fantastic views. The pool and bar on the roof were lively and also had excellent views. Breakfast had an extensive array of food and did not disappoint. The staff were very helpful and all in all we had a fantastic weekend.

Staying in this Hotel as part of a golfing group. The Hotel is quite central and the rooms are bright and spacious. There is a safe in each room (for which there is a charge) Rooms have air conditioning. Our view from the balcony was disappointing. Breakfast is first class with a large variety of food available. On the roof there is a terrific swimming pool with great views and a Bar. My one reservation about this Hotel is the Bar on the ground floor. It is staffed by non bar trained people... Read more

I honestly cannot explain how much of an amazing weekend we had here at the Senator Marbella Hotel. There were 22 of us for my hen do and we all found the staff so nice and friendly, especially Martin the bar man! We are already looking at booking here again next September. I thought the hotel was a perfect location for both Puerto Banus & the old town. The roof top pool is AMAZING.... the breakfast was excellent and I would recommend anyone to stay here and ignore the bad reviews!

I've stayed twice at this hotel and plan to not stay anywhere else. The breakfast is the best breakfast I've ever had and believe me I've stayed in loads and loads of high star hotels. They have a bunch of different hot and cold foods including a bunch of different freshly squeezed juices. Staff are lovely, the hotel itself is comfy and has a beautiful glass lift and roof top pool. You have access once to the spa (depending on what you book). I honestly can't even think of anything bad to say ab... Read more

The hotel was clean, our bedroom was clean and adequate. Our view was across the car park but we did not spend a lot of time in the room so it was not a problem. The air conditioning was good and also a large fan above the bed was an added bonus. We were a group of four and breakfast was not an easy process - we delegated tasks so one person went for coffee, the other for fruit etc. The food was of a good standard and the chefs were cooking fresh as required eggs, bacon etc. Having read the re... The Senator Marbella Spa Hotel has a four-star rating. We did enjoy our stay there. The positives were a friendly courteous staff at reception and diningroom. Juanjo runs a wonderful diningroom and was very helpful especially with our gluten-free food requests. However, more attention should be given to the 'drip-drop' tea-making facilities incorporated into the Nespresso machine. Still, the wholesome breakfast buffet was a real treat and full of variety and set us up for the day. The bedrooms ... Read more

We have decided to book for the second time this hotel in Marbella and are really happy to have done so as our stay was more than perfect. Located in a quiet residential area surrounded by palm trees and upscale houses, the hotel is 5 minutes walking to the beach (private or public), to restaurants and shops and close to the city center of Marbella (you can walk to the city center by the beach promenade and its gorgeous as there are no cars on the long promenade that links Puerto Banus to Marbel... We visited this hotel last year for a week and we really enjoyed it. Sea view room, comfortable bed, free safe and friendly staff. This year I had to check I had booked the same hotel as it was totally different. Most of the staff were straight faced and unfriendly, I had to pay ‚?¨53 for the safe, the beds were really hard and uncomfortable and a car park view. I don't know if it is under new management but it is not an improvement. I'll be looking for a different hotel for next year.

Stayed for a week. No major issues. Courteous staff God points: - Good room size - Great location for beach old town, Marbella ports and Puerto Banus harbour - Great breakfast choice - SPA trial was fun - If you are fit and able - even managed to walk to Canada shopping centre (will be a bit of a trek for most) Bad Points - Bed sheets not changed daily. - Dinner choice limited for vegetarians - no labelling either (hate asking for not so obvious items). - Large pool has no shallow end (was the... I'm not entirely sure how this hotel achieved its 4 star status. Having stayed in many 4 stars around Europe I have to say this stacks up very poorly indeed. It's a bottom-end 3 star at best with a couple of 4-star flourishes. Firstly the good: the swimming pool area on the roof is borderline fantastic. The views around the bar are stunning and the general seating area is really nice with great music. The swimming pool area is nice but the pool was only half full of water for some reason, mean... Had a fantastic time here on a girlie holiday, the hotel is nice rooms clean they accommodated our request of high floor and rooms next door. It's in a good location and a nice walk on the front to orange square. Staff on reception nice especially one man who checked us in can't remember his name but he had the most gorgeous eyes (oscar) maybe. However the other staff mainly bar downstairs and working in the restaurant at breakfast are very miserable and one girl was extremely obnoxious! I compl... Read more

We arrived just after check in about 12:30ish to be told that our booking was wrong. We told the young lady on reception that it wasn't and even showed her the booking confirmation details and emails. She refused to accept these and proceeded to tell us its would be an extra ‚?¨20 each if we wished to stay. With little other option we payed. We were then told our rooms were not ready, this was about 1pm by now. Ok we said we will have some drinks while we wait. After ordering 2 rounds of 13 pin... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights on golf trip with friends , the rooms were very clean , the beds comfortable & the breakfast was very good. The hotel was a very good base for golf as well as bars/restaraunts & a short hop to Puerto Banus. My only negative was the hotel bar closed at midnight without exception. (Despite our many pleas)

Group of golfers here in September. Rooms good size, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is really good here, great choice of breads and croissants. Had the omelette most mornings and it was really tasty. Only downside was you normally had to queue but it's worth it. Not impressed with the bar in the foyer but the rooftop bar and pool were really cool and great views. Only a short walk to beachfront. My second time here and I would stay again!
