On our 10 day trip to Spain with another couple we decided to splurge for 3 nights on hotel Alfonso XII in Seville (1 marvelous night which exceeded expectations) and Puente Romano Marbella (2 nights). We are a couple with a baby and our friends have a baby and a toddler. We originally wanted 2 rooms but reservations insisted that we must get the junior suite and our friends must get the deluxe garden suite "which has a separate living room for the kids". And so we forked out 2000 euros for thes... Read more

This resort is an amazing collection of bungalows, restuarants and pools. It's right on the beach with its own private sun soaking area. The staff was a delight and very accommodating. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a beach get away. There is plenty to do in the resort and is walking distance to the marina which is full of shops and restaurants.

I have just returned from a 4 day stay at The Puente Romano and I can honestly say it was the most wonderful few days. I travelled with my adult daughter so we could share and enjoy some time together. From the moment we arrived at the Reception until the moment we left to go home, we were treated like VIP's, every single member of staff, whether from reception, housekeeping, concierge, restaurants were very warm, professional, polite, courteous, sincere and genuinely wanted to please us and we... My Wife and I had the distinct pleasure of a five day visit to Puente Romano recently. I can fairly say there is no where that is more committed to excellence and the overall satisfaction of their customers. This extends from the quality, service and overall dining experience of the restaurants that are onsite to the attitude and friendliness of the entire staff. The accommodations are impeccable.

We had a junior suite, not too far from the lobby but up a floor. I expected a noisy night but it was very quiet though stepping on to the balcony, I was aware that the hotel's restaurants were open and doing business. Room had a lovely garden view (as do most of the rooms at this place) and beach friendly decors - tile floors, white walls, bright colored accents and lots of light. Breakfast was more than ample and beach access was a walk of a few minutes. This is a vacation resort, not touri... Read more

This was a treat with a friend as we wanted to see what a top Marbella hotel was like. Possibly the most I have ever paid for a hotel so expectations were high. Service was very good throughout and the room was as gorgeous as it was comfortable. The location meant we got a taxi in and out of the old town in the evenings. We may never be back but glad we tried it.

I've been to the Puente Romano on two occasions for work travel and it is always outstanding. From the location, to the excellent and varied restaurants, with very professional and attentive staff, it is difficult to fault the hotel. On my most recent visit, the villas had literally just been refurbished. The rooms are very well appointed, have excellent facilities, making your stay very comfortable. We had a truly great stay with 3 kids aged 6 and 3! They loved riding the boogie car down to the seagrill as well as eating at the Italian restaurant. We all enjoyed heated pools (30 celsius), lovely gardens with swans and ponds and supernice staff. The place is pricy, but well worth it. The restaurants and bars make you pay too:-) but the food was really good! Do not expect "Dubai luxury" - the place was built in the 70s (no eighties plasters!) and has a rustic touch. This hotel is a mini oasis with a lot more going on behind the front of the hotel than it portraits. The grounds are beautiful with several pools. The rooms are modern and have all modern facilities. There are many restaurants to chose from covering most tastes and the inclusive breakfast is superb. All in all I would thoroughly re commend this hotel. My only small criticism is that I think young children should use the childrens pool and leave the adult pool to those of us who want some rest.

The room was spacious and clean but there was an unpleasant smell at times! The hotel is large with a number of restaurants and bases, good entertainment at night and location is excellent! However, it was very difficult to order a drink at the beach. We even tried to order a drink at the bar but were told to wAit to be served at the beach which t... Read more

Puente romano is a fun lively hotel on the beach front of marbella! The hotel is very lively and active with plenty of choices of restaurants! Built in the typical andalucian style amongst plenty of greenery. The hotel lobby is a bit unimpressive for a leading hotel of the world. Its very basic. The rooms are night and bathroom size is good but needs refurbishing! Overall its not bad! We stayed in a junior garden suite! Breakfast was plentiful! Loads of choices....... I stayed at Puente Romano for only 2 days with my family of six, and the stay was very peaceful. The whole aesthetic of the resort was beautiful, they have a great fitness centre and staff at the lobby was friendly. The rooms were cosy and great overall. However, there was one thing that upset me during the stay. While we were having breakfast, I asked one of the waitresses for an omelette, to which she told me I can go to the egg bar myself and get it made. I understand if she was busy but I ex... Read more

Lovely resort only 30mins by cab from Marbella airport, nice plush rooms we came with group of friends and had a great time but they do know how to charge. Three beers (halves) and a water by pool ‚?¨30 whilst 30 paces outside on beach front it was less than ‚?¨10. So we started to buy outside and just walk back into pool area but they clocked this after a while and got the ache about it. Ice creams same up to ‚?¨9 in hotel pool area ‚?¨2.50 outside on front and just as nice so....... Breakfast ... Read more

This was our first visit to C D Sol, so we didn't know what to expect, we'd been warned it was expensive. Puento is clearly a high class hotel, and the facilities are fantastic, sadly the service is sporadic and all the facilities represented on the website are charged for at very high prices. A little more detail, our garden suit rooms are lovely and I couldn't fault them, housekeeping don't always replenish items fully. There is a fantastic I Pad system that updates your spend. However when ... Read more

10 day break with my husband & two children (2.5yrs & 7 month old). Stayed in the O block in a recently refurbished room on the 2nd floor, slightly awkward with the buggy but the flights of stairs are short and it was totally fine. The deluxe garden suite was lovely and worked well with a cot in the lounge. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous with lots of streams and bridges - think tropical paradise vibe..Breakfast starts nice and early at 7.30- it doesn't get remotely busy till 9 but with our ... Puente Romano is located a few minutes walk down the beach from the hub of Marbella activity. So if you like a quieter place, this is it. The resort offers plenty to do with golf packages (at the Marbella Club course), great tennis facilities, lots of beach and water activities. Coming from California, I was a bit disappointed with the murky water with considerable trash. We chose to spend our days at Puente Romano and stroll down the malecon to dinners in/near the center of town. It is an ... Read more

Spent a few nights here in July with the family, after friends recommended. Truly beautiful location, with stunning gardens and easy access to the beach. Great swimming pools, which our kids particularly enjoyed. Health-conscious restaurants with a great diversity of choice. Superbly attentive staff, with everything delivered in a sophisticated way. Expensive, but worth it! Utterly relaxing, and we will certainly visit again (and again)...

We were very excited to visit Del Mar Rest, located at the beach of Puerto Romano Hotel, when I called to make the reservation they asked me for a credit card to guarantee the reservation, in case of no show they charge 40 per person, we were 8 people in our party. It was my daughter birthday so I called in advanced to order a beautiful cake for her after dinner. I'm just back after spending some time at the Puente Romano. We had a deluxe suite which was one of the refurbished rooms and we were just blown away when we walked in, we felt like royalty in this room. The hotel itself is massive, I don't think we even seen it all. We had beautiful swans outside our room which was nice to look at and a lovely noise to hear with them quacking or whatever it is that they do. The food is fantastic although we never ate at all of the restaurants the hotel has to ... Read more

Stayed again at our favorite summertime Spanish hotel . As usual the room was superb , many of them have recently been refurbished and the standard of luxury is extraordinary. What really makes this brilliant hotel so very special is the level of service that everyone seems to give , just so many amazing staff ,Rafael at breakfast / lunch , Mercedes on reception , such a lovely, friendly , professional and helpful lady , they really are a credit to management, who are obviously doing a great job... At first, we were not impressed much. For the price we were paying, we expected more. Nonetheless, we fell in love with the location, the charm of the hotel, the caviar and bubbling breakfast, the different pools, the several in-house restaurants, the kids club, the staff and especially the Tennis academy. My favorite restaurant was The Sea Grill by the beach: Beautiful location; recommended for lunch or diner; expensive though; but u might get lucky and bump into Sir Thomas Jones like we did; ... I was looking forward to visiting this resort on the Costa Del Sol to end my European vacation. My elderly mother was with me who has difficulty walking long distances or significant stairs. I had rented a wheelchair for her through the hotel. In summary, my experience regarding this issue was terrible. This hotel would not be able to function in the U.S. I tried to get her a golf cart take her to the beach and even breakfast and after significant wait, I had to make her walk significant distanc... A return visit after many years away. Last time we visited we departed feeling the property was tired looking and the staff comatose! How things have changed for the better...the rooms have been superbly improved, the restaurants are now numerous and of a very high standard and the gardens and pool areas are luxurious and well maintained. The new, larger breakfast area is also very welcome and the buffet as good as most top class hotels. But, the clincher is the Plaza. It comes alive each evenin... Read more

This hotel left me with mixed feelings after a week with my family (2 x children 2yrs and 4yrs). The location is excellent, right on the beach between Marbella and Puerto Banus. When we arrived the greeting at reception wasn't particularly warm and it was very busy but we got to our room quickly. Sadly the room we had was not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel at the rate we paid. I have attached photos of the issues but the room was very tired, especially the bathroom. We ended up really enjoying our stay at the resort and in the end didn't want to leave. We did have some problems when we arrived but actually one of the reasons we ended up being so happy with the hotel was the excellent way our gripes were dealt with by the manager. The hotel has beautiful gardens and is beautifully manicured. Some of the rooms however haven't yet been refurbished and the first room we were shown was damp and smelled musty. The second room we were given was close to the squar... Read more

The resort offered everything you would want for a family vacation. Tennis facility was great, many courts, tennis pros available for lessons and play. Playing on the stadium court was special to our 4 grandsons. The beach was great, many pools and many restaurants to chose from. Bikes can be reserved for use during the day. Safe paths to ride on. The buffet breakfast was wonderful.

Listed as one of the Leading Hotels of the World, it's very easy to see why. Chic, cool, trendy and classy are words that easily fit with Puente Romano. Ideally situated on the sea front equidistant between the gaudy, chav-magnets that are Marbella and Puerto Banus, around 3-4 kilometres away along the glorious promenade that separates the hotel grounds and the beach. Cafes and restaurants of varying quality are a stone's throw away but such is the superb collection of 9 different restaurants on... Read more

Family Summer holiday beckoned and the Puente Romano was recommended. We were short of time (as ever) and so D&G Travel booked it for us. There are so many things to review about this hotel over a 10 day stay that I have tried to break it down. 1. Rooms - fabulous. We had adjoining garden and junior suites and beds are comfortable, furnishings up to standard and nothing to complain about at all. Had a room in the "Y" beachfront building. Of the two beachfront buildings, Y and Z, always choose the "Y" building. The views from "Z" overlook the thatched roof of the Sea Grill restaurant. Views from our room in "Y" were fabulous. The room itself was very nice except for the TV. They put this very nice TV on the desk versus hanging it on the wall. It literally takes up the whole desk making the desk useless. This hotel just does not do the little things right that a 5 star rated proper... Read more
