We stayed in a family room (superior double with front sea view). Lovely room/nice bed & balcony - nice clean sheets & towels. Had a 4 year old in a single bed and a 1 year old in a travel cot. Their beds were in the same room (divided by a curtain) - and each section had its own TV. Hotel provided bottle warmer & we were able to empty mini bar and filled with milk, water etc! (good to have use of small fridge in room). Staff were brilliant whole time we were there, rooms lovely and clean. ... Read more

Lovely public areas, gardens, I would definately recommend this hotel and will stay here again. Very close to old town. Breakfast excellent. And the Balinese sunbed for two with a bottle of cava is well worth it. Hotel sunbeds on the beach are free to guests. Pool towels provided. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. This is my second time staying in the Fuerte and it was fabulous. This hotel does great service and has great facilities. I stayed in a sea view room and I recommend paying the supplement for same. It's worth it to get up and look straight on to the sea. Great location with easy reach of the sea, old town and the marina.

Varied buffet with specials cooked in front of you and different every night. And last but not least great friendly and helpful staff. We will be back!

From start to finish I had the most pleasant stay at Hotel Fuerte, Marbella, a beautiful ocean front hotel. I reserved this hotel possibly a year before for the purpose of attending a wedding with my family. I specified my requirements at time of booking which were all met. My family room was just perfect. Very large, open and bright, front sea view, low floor, and private balcony. Staff very pleasant, courteous and professional and non intrusive. Hotel is large, nicely decorate... Read more

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff, everywhere is kept so clean and neat it's a real pleasure to stay here. Room was large with sea view at extra cost but worth it. Food was excellent at all times, we booked DBB. We also took the payable option of the Exclusive facilities and lounge. For us it was worth it but is an area that could do with some improvement. There's barriers at the front with a guard and you need to use your key to access the lift from the ground floor. My room had a full bathroom with quite a lot of toiletries on offer (there w... Booked a full sea view room using their exclusive service - which is a nice touch. Disappointed that they only provide one type of fibre filled pillow. If you do book a full sea view room, make sure it's in the main building, as you do not get any sun on the balconies in the annexe at any point of the day - they should tell you this when booking the room, bearing in mind you are paying premium prices. Perfectly located in Marbella with direct access to the beach and across the road from the old town. Location can not be beaten really. Two swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers available. Hotel room was pleasant, clean and modern. Great selection of free toiletries like toothbrush, shaving kit etc. Very practical and handy for people on a short break. Food was very good. My only criticism is the waiter service can be very slow, e.g. Waiting 20 mins at breakfast for a refill of tea, getting ... Read more

I recently stayed at this hotel with my two children aged 11 and 16 years. We only stayed for 3 nights as we only went out to Spain for my nieces wedding. This hotel was recommended by the wedding planner and we were part of a group of 75 staying at the hotel fuerte Marbella ! The actual hotel was beautiful and spotlessly clean however the waiter service and bar service was terrible You had to wait almost 30 mins to get a glass of coke !! The hotel is advertised as child friendly this is not th... Read more

My husband and I have stayed at the El Fuerte several times and always enjoy our time here. Hotel is spotlessly clean and management and staff are friendly and helpful. We've seen many additions made especially in the last couple of years which have only enhanced our stay and love the new pool terrace. If I was to make one small hoot I don't like the paper napkins now used at breakfast. Thank you Maria and your team for y... Read more

We have been staying at El Fuerte for many years and have recently returned home after another lovely 11 days. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. It's position in Marbella is just perfect. Would definitely recommend it for couples.

Dont bother staying here if you want to actually have fun & enjoy your holiday. This hotel is only appropriate for over 60s who want to sit under a parasol all day in silence!! Me, my husband and one year old daughter stayed for a week with 75 friends & family members for my sisters wedding in September. This was 'recommended' by the wedding planner as a family friendly hotel. First of all there is no childrens pool and if you dare want to play in the pool with your child ie teach them to swim, ... Came back only this week from this great hotel. Enjoyed the stay very much, the hotel was clean, the staff very attentive and the room had a beautiful View. Their private beach was very good as the 2 poolareas. But the highlight for us was the location. Right by the beach and the old city right behind us. Recommended.

A superb hotel. We had an exclusive room with sea view and balcony. Room was a good size with plenty of clothes storage. Bathroom only had a shower over the bath. Excellent buffet breakfast which could be eaten indoors or on the patio. Exclusive lounge very nice with complementary drinks and snacks. Plenty of sun beds in the garden, by the pool and on the hotels own beach area - all with a buzzer to call for drinks waiter. Will stay again.

We spent a few days here in summer 2016. The room (junior suite on the first floor facing the ocean) was convenient but the real highlight of the trip was the service from the staff - right from the bell boy to check-in,bar, restaurants, house-keeping, pool staff - everyone was awesome ! They seemed genuinely motivated and friendly and went out of their way to help guests despite the busy season. I don't recall all names but the manager at the bar and restaurant was incredible and went the extr... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September and had a great time. A lot of people seem to stay on an all inclusive basis but we booked bed and buffet breakfast so we could visit Estepona Old Town and Port in the evenings (10 euro taxi ride). We booked a Grand Comfort Double room sea view was spacious, modern and clean with a great view and king sized bed. The hotel complex was big so you never felt cramped. There were two pools, one is adults only which was perfect for us! Food and drinks... Read more

Just returned from my 2nd visit to this hotel. It definitely won't be my last. Staff were very helpful. Food was great and no complaints on cleanliness of hotel. You can see they take the maintenance of the hotel very serious with programs of work taking place (not affecting our stay)

No real complaints here - Fuerte is in a great location next to the beach and only a few minutes walk from the old town. Service is efficient and friendly; breakfast very nice. My only advice is make sure you are happy with your room choice - if the hotel is nearly full you may get put into a VERY small room at the front, as we were.

As others have indicated, this is a lovely location in the centre of town within easy, short walking distance of the old town. Some of the other reviews have described this hotel as a bit tired and dated. I personally think that is a little unfair It is well kept, the rooms are of good quality build, our bed was king size and of a comfort level you would expect from a four star hotel. The free Wi fi deliered decent speed and connectivity and was also accessible in the outdoor public areas. Brea... Read more

The undemonstrative but superb friendly service in all areas of the hotel, pool, restaurant, bars, rooms and front desk. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool covered when needed but surrounded by gardens and seating with views out to sea is splendid. The facility of eating or drinking when whatever and wherever from a cream cake to gazpacho or grilled fish was so welcome beautifully served and delicious.

Good hotel, well located, 2 pools and across the road from the old town. Pleasant staff and rooms are quite good. It is an easy base from which to spend tome in Marbella. The restaurant is also quite good.

The hotel is situated such that leaving the lower exit, one is one the sea front. Leaving via the main entrance takes residents to the old town, in approximately, 200 metres. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. They always greet residents passing in the corridors. If language is a problem, the staff has a good grasp of English. We found the room to be clean, with all the usual items to make our stay effortless, hairdryer, combs, soap etc. We had a balcony overlooking the sea. There was a bot... Read more

We stayed here for a week and I must say the moment we walked in the staff made is feel welcome. We stayed in a standard room nice clean and big but it was dark as not a lot of light came in the room so we had the lights on during the day. I have to commend your excellent wfi. I stay in hotels both business and pleasure on a regular basis and it was by far the best connection. Even by the pool you could still access it. People said to us 'why are you going to Marbella, Costa Del Sol?'....'too many poms' they said, 'it's not Spain' some said. Well I wanted to see all aspects of Spain on our 3 week journey through north, south & everywhere in between. Because of people's influences, I had no great expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised. We felt the resort gives you the exact experience you would expect while staying on the Costa Del Sol. The hotel is very clean and the location is great, just yards from the beach, the facilities are second to none and the management and staff are superb. Although you cannot fault the cleanliness / location / excellent room / selection of food on offer at this hotel, there was definitely something missing from it. I felt the staff in general were not very endearing, it was like they were just doing their job, smiling because they had to not because they wanted to. The waiters in particular were very miserable. The service at the bar was incredibly slow on both ordering and delivering!! I would suggest that the reception staff changed their uni... Read more

and we have been here a few times already... We had a quiet room with a fantastic sea-view. The staff is - without exception - very friendly & allways ready to help or answer your questions. Only 2 really minor minus-points : The room & corridors could use a fresh-up (but very clean) & at breakfast, during the peak-period, dishes stayed on the tables, long after people had finished and left the breakfast-room, which made it difficult for late breakfasters to find a clean table.

As I said the location of the hotel is nice but the reception is average because I reserved an exclusive room and I didn't get everything such as a welcome gift as they mentioned on their website, they also didn't give me maps for the city and some advices where to go and what is the best transportation way ,anyway I'm still exploring the hotel and I will write any valuable reviews. Three friends and I enjoyed a 4 night golf stay at the Hotel Fuerte Marbella. The hotel is very nicely situated in the centre of Marbella at the beach and adjacent to the charming old town. Easy parking in front of the hotel. The hotel has both an outdoor and indoor pool. Also a basic but adequate gym. The guests (medio November) are mostly middelage to elderly. It is very attractive and if you get the rooms with the sea view they are lovely but I have stayed in the rooms without a sea view and they are quite lovely t.
