We have just spent a week in this great hotel. We paid extra for the Red Level which was superb. We found all the staff to be friendly and very professional, particularly the Red Level staff. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. The highlight of our stay was the evening entertainment in the Whisky Bar, by Manolo. Rarely do you have a mix of such talent and humour, and he kept everyone entertained night after night. He is the main reason that we will return again soon!

Very obliging staff that made us feel so very welcome. They did everything to make our stay perfect. There was light entertainment nightly at bar which was really nice. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous as they had separate trolleys of each type of food and didn't mix meats with cheeses. The pool area and grounds were beautiful and spacious. This hotel is a real gem on the beachfront. Hairdresser was great. We had room with seaview and was really nice. Clarins products in bathroom too. This was ... Read more

We stayed in the Melia Don Pepe for a one week golf vacation. The Hotel is now 40 years old but well maintained. All rooms have seaview. The garden and pool area is wonderfu.. The staff in the hotel makes the real difference. A very warm welcome at the reception with a glass of cava. Breakfast (buffet style ) is served in the Veranda Restaurant which gets crowded at peak time 10:00, but the very friendly and attentive and experienced staff does everything possible to accomodate and serve the gue... Very good hotel, red level service is an additional asset for the hotel, very friendly and helpful Red Ladies. Minor issues were solved in the most effective way and in a short period of time. not too far from Marbella Beach and old city area. You have no excuse for not doing a walk on the beach promenade under excellent conditions in the evening. If you have a problem the management takes care of it with follow up on the issue

We have been visiting this hotel for going on 19 years it's location is excellent and worthy of 5 stars given it's amenities it's beautiful gardens and fantastic staff we would not stay anywhere else in the Marbella area - our mountain view bedroom was just perfect for us. Our 2 week stay in May 2016 was the best and has left us with many happy memories. David & Leila Sewell Kenilworth England

The hotel is not a 5-star hotel more like a 4-star but the price is like a 5-star hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are small. Becaus of the hard floors the charis is making a lot of nice. The pool area is really nice and close to the beach.

This was my second trip to the hotel.Still high standards for the pool area and gardens, and for the rooms. Great breakfast and great oyster bar. Very useful location above the Cappuccino Cafe. However it is rather expensive and I don't think I will stay again at these prices.

This was our 4th visit to the Don Pepe in 2 years. We have always enjoyed staying at this hotel and having been to all the other 5 star + in Marbella, this one is definitely the best in terms of quality and staff. We were made to feel at home and would like to thank the general Manager, Abel and his team for giving us such a wonderful personal experience. Great hotel that is hard to find negatives about. I'd put it up there with the best places we have stayed - The Shangri-La in Sydney, The Dar Al Maysef in Dubai, Raffles in Singapore. Service, quality, cleanliness, food, vibe were all great. Special mention to Natalia and Mikel in the Kids Club, the hotel manager and all the Ladies in Red - they were all fantastic. We loved the sushi restaurant and the cafe on the beach with the kids and for sun downers. The Red Level was also worth the extra co... Read more

Not having been to Marbella for many years, I was looking forward to our trip. It was very disappointing, and not up the five star services that we had expected or paid for. I booked two Red level rooms, for 5 nights. We found the rooms to be small clean and an adequate 4 star standard. I asked for our 2 rooms to be close together, we were put on different floors. I asked for a high floor, again this request was not fulfilled. The hotel was not full, at the time of our stay. The main reason I... Read more

While the Grand Melia is a beautiful hotel, there were some short comings. I did a half board thinking I could eat at all restaurants. I was only allowed at two, breakfast buffet which was excellent and T-bone grill, one page menu which never changed, food was either bland or to salty. Service extremely slow. Pool area lovely, beach towels included along with umbrellas. While I would go back in, would only include breakfast. Rooms were nice, although air conditioning was not up to par. Lighting... My wife and I spent 2 nights here for our 20th wedding anniversary. It exceeded expectations. The hotel is luxurious without feeling pretentious -- just very comfortable and elegant. Grounds and upkeep are excellent. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Dinner one night at Tahini, somewhat expensive, but really great food, exceeded expectations. Enjoyed a couples massage in the Clarins Spa. So happy that this is where we enjoyed our anniversary. Highly recommended.

The Red Level staff is as dedicated as ever. Our corner room was gorgeous. Tahini is a top-restaurant and a nice alternative to the T-Bone Grill. This is a top-class hotel within ‚??real‚?? walking distance from the old city. The only negative is the Cappuccino charging ‚?¨25 per beach chair per day. This is a ridiculous price, and although it is not the responsibility of the hotel, it leaves a bitter taste with the hotel guests who want to spend a day at the beach.

This was my 4th visit to this hotel and the best by far. After being let down by the service of another hotel locally I won't mention we moved here as we are Melia card holders. The penthouse is very impressive with great sea views and about 100sq m of outside space. The red level service and lounge as always were great. Easily the best hotel in Marbella an easily the best Staff and service.

We enjoyed an excellent stay here and found all aspects very pleasing. The Hotel is centrally located along the front across from the beach and is within walking distance of a wide choice of restaurants. Our Junior Suite with wrap around balcony was great and the bed was exceedingly comfortable. The abundance of Clarins items contained in the bathroom were decent and the housekeeping was consistently good. We found all staff to be first class and the pool guys certainly earn their money runni... Read more

Unfortunately we have come to the end of our ten day stay at this marvellous hotel. The staff have been fantastic, polite, courteous , friendly and attentive. The pool is great with extremely comfortable sun beds and good bar service. We used the spa on several occasions for different treatments, the service and experience was excellent as was the hair salon. We would recommend Tahini, the sushi restaurant, very good food with a lovely view over the sea and beach. In fact everything was grea... Read more

Sea view VIP level room. Bathroom a little dated but otherwise fine. Service is good, but very slow. Room has an adequate size. The king bed was really two twins put together which is somewhat uncomfortable. The majority of guests were either families or elder people.

Just returned from another week at this incredible resort. The location of this hotel is second to none with 20 minute walk (3 minutes in taxi) to Old town, incredible beach and restaurants on your door step. The staff at this hotel are fantastic and whether travelling with kids or not they will do everything to make your holiday enjoyable. Our kids aged 7 and 9 love the kids club and I would thoroughly recommend the Red Level option. Abel and his team in red Level are true Professionals and mak... Read more

Great hotel near the boardwalk. Disappointed that the outdoor pool was not heated but I found the indoor pool. Regular entertainment and overall great resort feel. Breakfast was amazing and the grounds made me feel like I was in an exotic luxury escape. Better suited for older couples. Location is good but I felt the Banus area had more going on. You should choose this location if you want quiet and a beach.

I stayed here for the second time with my partner back in April our first time was a few years ago and we were blown away by the place we always wanted to return. We always much prefer to go during quieter periods our first time was at the end of October we were quite unlucky with weather but the hotel more than made up for it with indoor pool, steam room etc as well as being able to get a massage. We had a lovely time and always wanted to return so we decided to make two short holidays in one, ... Read more

Stayed with my Wife for 3 nights for a midweek break. Booked the regular seaview half board package as we didn't feel the extra perks of red level were needed. 1st impressions of the hotel fantastic, bars, restaurants and lobby in fine condition along with the great gardens and pools. Staff mostly very welcoming and polite but hardly enough of them at times in the bars and ice cream/coffee areas. I guess it doesn't always seem like this and imagine 1st week of August is a busier time. Service... Read more

Excellent customer service and hospitality. Glad we opted for the red glove service as we were able to have light snacks and drinks (alcohol too) throughout the day. Very good location for a healthy walk to restaurants for dinner. Good pool side service and excellent breakfast. Nice spa too!

I'm on my last day & I can honestly say it is the best hotel in the world. The staff are amazing. It's difficult to remember all their names. Rocio, the general manager, so nice & down to earth, in a hotel like this it is beautiful that she mingles & chats with the guests. Abel, the red level manager, he is unbelievable, nothing is too much trouble. Ernesto, best tennis instructor. All the other staff are fantastic. Rafa & Raul & the other pool guy (didn't get his name) brilliant. The atmosphere... Read more
