When we arrived at the Molina Lario, we were checked in by Roberto an extremely helpful member of the reception team. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The breakfasts were fresh and tasty, with good quality produce used. The staff are friendly. There is a small rooftop pool and bar, which is very lively in the evening. The Bolsa Cafe was fun and spilled onto the outside pavement. The hotel is perfectly situated for getting around the old city of Malaga, with easy access to m... Read more

Stayed here on a long weekend in Malaga with some friends in March. The hotel is very modern and stylish and the rooms are very nicely decorated. It's located next to the Cathedral and close to many nice restaurants and bars, also close to the market and to the sea aswell. The best thing about the hotel is the amazing rooftop terrace where the pool is. We saw an amazing sunset from here and had some lovely drinks at the start of an evening out. Perfect location for beach, port, shopping and tapas! Room and ensuite was clean and decent size made all the better by a very reasonable upgrade to a room with a balcony and view of the cathedral (see picture). Friendly staff and a really nice breakfast. Would definitely return.

We stayed for a couple of nights and the thing that we enjoy the most was the rooftop and the bar. At night it creates a good nigh environment. The hotel is close enough to the beach and the city center (everything can be done walking distance).

As I opened the door to the room, I immediately noticed two things -- nice room and terrible view. The nice room are well described by the other reviewers: comfortable bed, high ceiling, clean and nice furniture. They even included a complimentary carafe of scotch. The view is of the neighboring building about 4 meters away. All you see is old windows with peeling paint. About 10 windows can see into our room. I asked for a new room, but I was told that the only other room is facing the same o... Read more

Stayed May 2016. Location excellent. The hotel is right in the heart of the old town, about a 15 min walk from the train station and right next to the cathedral and the Marina. Slight issue on check-in with broken air conditioning in the room, but the hotel staff were very apologetic about it and moved us to a slightly nicer room on a higher floor no questions asked. The impressive thing about this was that it was midnight by the time we returned from dinner and realised so hats off to the night... Read more

Room was lovely, we took the offered upgrade for a mere $30/night. The Cathedral is right outside your front door and basically all other sites are within walking distance. Modern hotel with a friendly helpful staff. Ton's of restaurants at your fingertips. Walk to the Seaside Ferris wheel, Picasso Museum, Cathedral, etc... Affordable and convenient.

When we arrived we were not happy with our room, as the window opened onto the courtyard and was very noisy. We asked if another room was available and although they were extremely busy they showed us another room that was available. It was fabulous. The staff were fantastic we felt totally at ease. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, for everyones taste. I would definitely go back.

Five night stay in a great location, right in middle of old town beside Cathedral. Overlooking the ugly Marriott this hotel ticks the boxes. Delux room 610 gives view of Catherdral. Room big and well stocked with toiletries. Small pool on roof top with loungers for around 10 people. Inadequate number. Only complaint was Mossies.... Buzzing about my ear at night.

Hotel is cracking, rooms are nice and immaculately clean. The pool is TINY as is the rooftop area but that is fine. However the staff! What typifies it was the pool bar opening 35 mins late. Bar-lady then refuses to serve anyone anything "until the bar is set up". Apparently this takes an hour and the chopping of fruit is the priority, not the guests. I only wanted a bottle of water! I stayed seven nights in the Hotel Molina Lario at the end of June. Our room was bright, clean and airy. The air conditioning worked well, and there was plenty of room. The one downside was very poor water pressure in the shower. Staff were very friendly. The hotel pool was on the roof and was excellent. A really nice hotel right in the heart of Malaga. The rooms were good size, clean and modern. There is a roof top pool with great views over the harbour and the cathedral. It is small and you have to be lucky to get a space. (The usual annoying habit some folk have of "keeping" a bed even though they are away for most if the day ). We had a fantastic week in Malaga. The hotel is ideally placed in the heart of everything. We ate out all the time and you're spoilt for choice for places to go. We had breakfast at the hotel once on our last morning. Very good and plenty of selection. Beware though it is very expensive. 39 euros for two. There was a mix up with our airport taxi. Our taxi was prebooked but we got one via the hotel and did not pay the driver. I hope the hotel sorted it out when the real taxi came to collect us.

We stayed two weeks in a suite with a partial view of the Cathedral at the end of August and early September. The room was very clean and comfortable. Service was excellent both at the front desk, housekeeping, and particularly at the rooftop bar which features amazing views of the Cathedral, park and port. Laundry service was reasonable by comparison to other hotels in my experience. The hotel's location can't be beat, as it is an easy walk to Muelle Uno (the first port with its shopp... Read more

Excellent staff and service. The location is perfect... 15mins from the airport by taxi. 10 mins pleasant stroll to the harbor where there are lots of restaurant, and then another 10 mins to the small but nice beach. The beautiful historic town is right on your doorstep, and the bars and nightclubs are 15-20 mins walk. The hotel itself is very well presented, and the roof top bar is a highlight. Don't expect much from the roof top pool however.. its a plunge pool at best.

Hotel was well situated and great for access to shops and restaurants. Also only took about 10 minutes to walk to the nearest beach. The hotel was modern and clean throughout and the staff were very helpful. Only down side was the size of the roof terrace and amount of sun beds for the size of the hotel however the views were amazing! Will definitely be staying again!

We had a delightful three days in Malaga at the Hotel Molina Lario. Unlike beach hotels on the Mexican Riviera, which are right on the beach, the Hotel Molina Lario is actually a 15 minute walk to the beach. Brilliant location, that is the outstanding plus side of this hotel. The outside is a bit outputting as it looks like a modern tower block, but one inside we were given a brief but walk welcome. This was the largest hotel we had stayed in on a trip around Andalusia, and it suffered by comparison. The conseriege was very helpful in dealing with my car for a week which was very helpful. We only stayed as bed and breakfast, the breakfast was buffet style and more that adequate something for everyone. This hotel is conveniently located, but I'm not a huge fan of modern hotels such as this one. The other thing is, the decor needs to be renovated. Wallpaper is coming away from the wall and there was an odor in the hallways. Indeed, management must be aware of the problem, as there were plug-in deodorizers in the hallways! Also, the restaurant, while lovely, allows for smoking in the outdoor courtyard. Unfortunately, the smoke is trapped in the courtyard (as the building is talk) and it carries... Read more
