Well located in an attractive neighbourhood this hotel is handy for an overnight stay before or after a flight â?? we stayed there on the last night of our holiday before our flight back to the UK. It's only about 20 minutes by car to Malaga airport from the hotel. There's a lovely view from the restaurant â?? it's a nice experience to eat dinner while watching darkness fall over Malaga and the sea beyond that â?? one of the best views in the city. It's clear that the restaurant is the focal p... Read more

Weve been here before in 2015. The hotel is still fantastic. Impeccably clean, modern decor with a human story behind it. Brothers (chef and patron) are welcoming and genuinely hospitable. Wish mum was still around to meet as her modernist paintings and superb fresh mosaics that adorn the building and the walls are a wonderful legacy to the hotel. All other staff are so helpful and happy. The food, oh the food....wonderful food to keep you coming back again and again. Best Andalucian Cold White... Read more

We stayed the last 2 nights of our Andalucian roadtrip at Villa Guadalupe. We had stayed in b&b/hostel type of places so for the last two nights in Malaga we wanted to stay bit more comfortable. It really was worth the money. At first, the hotel is located on a hill so the view is amazing. It's bit far away from the center but we were aware of it so it was fine. I prefiere the view and silence. We didn't have a car during our stay in Malaga but we took a bus to the city. The bus stop was 5min wa... Read more

First class service, location and elegant dining! We stayed 5 nights in early April. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They were a pleasure to deal with. We did not have a car and managed quite well. After a short walk down the hill, the #21 bus to down town came frequently. On return we were always successful in finding a taxi for the trip back up the hill to the villa. The villa was very clean with a modern décor. The view was fantastic!

This is a family-owned place that is almost a small resort. While our room did not directly overlook the City of Malaga, we did have a little private patio with a view. The dining room has a spectacular view. The room was very nice, with nice furnishings and bathroom. There is onsite free parking. There is a pool that we didn't try. The free WiFi was good. We did have some food at the restaurant, which seems pretty good. The breakfast is rather basic compared with some hotels we have stayed at,... Read more

This is beautiful and a comfortable small hotel with spectacular view of Malaga. The hotel only had 11 bedrooms. Our room was comfortable and very clean, Tastefully decorated with ample bathroom, marble floors, tastefully decorated. Staff was very attentive and the food great. We were very happy to have chosen this hotel. If you have a car you can park in the hotel for no additional cost.

We wrapped up a 3 week trip to Portugal and Spain with a stay at Hotel Villa Guadalupe prior to flying back to the US. Our group of six opted for the room and board option, thoroughly enjoying the gourmet fixed dinner for both nights we stayed. The attention to detail and friendly staff made us feel at home. It is nestled in a residential neighborhood with spectacular views over the city. Rooms were clean and comfortable and with only 11 rooms, the hotel was extremely quiet.

We have vsited this hotel before and I guess that say's it all. We returned for a week in early May and had a relaxing time and were well looked after. Was it perfect, No. But I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, when looking at hotels I think that it is important to take into account what it is costing and HVG is outstanding Value for money. The staff were outstanding and both my wife and I feel important and wanted all week what ever time of day. They even prepared a Breakfast to go becau... Read more

We are a young couple with 8 months old baby travelling by car from Seville to Barcelona. Villa Guadalupe was our second stop and the best so far. Amazing hospitality with lots of warm smiles towards our little one! The room was great with an incredible view overlooking Malaga. Very clean and stylish throughout the entire hotel. Pool very clean, baby friendly and simply relaxing. Overall, very highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

Perfect view, perfect ambience, perfect dinner. Nothing more to say, except the honest hospitalty from Antonio and his 'crew', providing us an unforgetable evening in Malaga with haute causine without the pretions. A full five star rating without hesistation.

Arriving at hotel villa guadalupe after having read the reviews on trip advisor we were initial a bit disappointed. Nestling on the hills above Malaga, the views are truly breathtaking, but the hotel seems to be a bit worn and in need for a revamp. However, once you settled in, two things become apparent. First, the friendliness and helpfulness is overwhelming and the service is superb. Everyone makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive and you feel almost like you visit some old friends... This is a great small hotel in a residential part of Malaga. There is an upscale restaurant (reviewed separately) and an outdoor swimming pool on site. The hotel is on a hill on the outskirts of Malaga far from city center, so I would not recommend it to people without a car, unless they don't mind spending money on a taxi. It has free parking on site, which you probably will not find downtown. It is a quiet place away from downtown and beaches. They have some rooms overlooking Malaga and the M... Read more

We stayed at the Villa for a week and used it as a base for touring the area. The room and public areas were immaculately clean. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. There is a very homey feeling. The view is stunning and the guests were quiet and polite. You need a car to get in and out as the villa is situated out of town. We would have liked a fridge in the room. There is not a hot water kettle in the room, but when we asked for one, it was supplied immediately with a smile! We... Read more

Nice compact rooms, with limited views. The pool area is lovely and away from the on site restaurant so a great escape, complete with honesty bar for a refreshing drink. We didn't have a car but found the bus to Malaga centre quick and easy. Not recommended for anyone who struggles with fitness though as the walk up and down the hill is challenging. I've reviewed the restaurant separately but will briefly say it is very good. Breakfast however wasn't the best and the cooked options limited. ... Read more

If you want to visit Malaga but don't want to stay in the loud busy city center but close enough to get there quickly by car or taxi , this is the place ! Sitting only 1.5 miles (3km) from city center perched on top of a hill in a residential area overlooking the city and water and a spectacular view of Malaga. The restaurant food and view was excellent. Actually the best food we had while in Malaga. The rooms (we had a terrace over looking the city) was basic but clean, with comfortable beds ,... Read more

This small boutique hotel, just 11 rooms, is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. We can highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay somewhere different and special while visiting Malaga. The hotel is situated high up on the hills overlooking the city, in a stately classic white villa. It is 15 minutes by car or taxi into the city centre. We had a superb welcome from one of the two brothers who runs the hotel. He made us feel very special and welcome and took the time to show us round... Read more

As many other reviewers stated this boutique hotel is within easy taxi drive ( 9-11 Euros ) from the busy city center. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean ad bright. We were offered an "upscale" room for an additional 10 Euros /night with a nice balcony. A great bargain. Rooms are spacious by European standards.Great views from the rooms on the modern Malaga and the coast and mountain ranges. Very quiet. Make sure you have a GPS if you drive to the hotel otherwise it will take you a long whi... Read more

The hotel has many good points but it is a good 20 minutes out of Malaga, therefore making a car totally necessary. Staff are friendly and polite. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Many people come for the restaurant as it is highly thought of. The food was good with an interesting menu. It was middle of the road pricing. Breakfast was typically continental and not to everyone's liking, certainly not my other half who took exception to the over cooked fried eggs. The main reason why we w... Read more

We only stayed one night due to a late flight arrival. A GPS is helpful if you are driving there. The lift was broken during our stay, but the staff were helpful and carried our bags down to our room and up again when we left. The rooms were fine, we had a small balcony and a wonderful view over the city. The restaurant was ok for the evening meal, but the breakfast is nothing to get excited about.
