Here with a bunch of high school kids on a trip for school. The room I had was small but very comfortable. Modern, simple decor. This is in the middle of the city right on the Gran Via, so there will definitely be some city noise at times. Prado, Reina Sofia, Plaza Mayor, Retiro Park are all within easy walking distance. Nice breakfast buffet in the morning with a good variety of food.

I planned a quick family trip with my wife and kids and wanted to book centrally located hotel that could be easily access all major sites and still convenient for shopping, in fact the hotel was by far exceed our expectation in cleanliness, service and overall staff and above all the location was fantastic.

surprisingly enough no Tryp hotel has any AC before June. it doesn t matter you re melting in this global warming world of our-- no AC it is. Naturally you can open the windows (if they open to the street) and enjoy one of the noisiest streets in the planet. A joy!

The hotel is very modern we had end room facing courtyard quiet. The breakfast has the largest variety of cold and hot foods. The young man who checks room number and serves the coffee is very nice. The staff are all so helpful. The location is close to the Plaza del Sol and Plaza Major. The room is good size, no refrigerator but has safe in room. Plus outlets to recharge you iPads etc. The E floor has vending machines to get snacks and drinks. Buy convert plugs Spain does not have 110 out let ... Read more

We stayed here for a weekend in november - perfect season for visiting madrid. The hotel is perfectly located, if you don't mind the cheap gold shops and occasional sex worker on the pedestrian street at the back of the hotel. We didn't. The hotel looks like it was very posh once, but is now pretty run down. Our room was on the second floor, facing the front. The window didn't close very well, so it was very noisy well into the night, with cars honking and people laughing and yelling on the st... Read more

I was given a twin room, even when promised a kingsized bed. I asked for a quiet room, away from the loud Gran Via, and was given a corner room with not 1, but TWO windows facing the loud Gran Via. Grr !!!

the hotel is centrally located in the heart of the shopping complex & eatiers around. a very busy street but in the rooms we didnt feel as if we were on one of the main streets of madrid. it is right over the metro station, city tourist bus stops are across the streets. we booked a room with 3 beds & that made the room less spacious. 3 people staying with their 3 bags & hand bags made the room a bit claustrophobic. however if u r a tourist who wishes to spend all day outdoors this shouldnt be a ... Location is great and the rooms are fine. Although the breakfast experience was a disappointment, it seemed to be a lot of confusion and there were no cutlery or glasses, had to wait a long time to get that. Except from that, good hotel.

Everything was ok, except the cooling system was not controllable from the room, and sometimes, the room was not cold enough for us. The rest of the services, including staff, cleanness, breakfast, etc were superb! Breakfast was extremely good.

Peace and tranquility in a hot city centre - great location, quiet room, good breakfast, public transport on doorstep, affordable fixed price taxi ride/from airport (make sure to ask driver in advance). Good access to main places of interest.

It was a great hotel for just one night. We were able to walk through downtown Madrid and see a lot! It is very closely located to a Metro stop so it was an easy trip from the airport. Taxis are too expensive, but the Metro is great.

My teacher colleagues and I traveled with 26 US high school students. The hotel dealt with us and our needs in a top notch fashion. The location of the hotel was perfect for our group: in easy walking distance to restaurants and museums. We had a great time in Madrid!

We stayed at TRYP Grand Via for 2 nights in July and were really pleased with our choice. The hotel is so ideally located on Grand Via, right next to the metro and across the road from the hop on hop off bus stop and close to many shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel was nice and clean and staff were helpful and friendly. We had a room on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel and although on a busy main street we didn't experience any problems with noise (and we stayed Friday-Sunday). Han... Read more

Great location - close to sights e.g. Prado, Sol, Plaza Mayor, shopping and only a few metres from Gran Via metro station), clean and quiet room (requested quiet room at the back), helpful staff. On our previous visit to Madrid we stayed at the other Tryp hotel close to Plaza de Espana but the Tryp Gran Via has a more convenient location, being more centrally located to the sights, shopping and restaurants/nightlife. Would certainly stay here again next time.

I stayed in the Tryp Gran Via for a couple of nights during a quick 3-day visit to Madrid. Pros: Very good location on the Gran Via. Metro stop just down the street, lots of shops, restaurants, activities (coffee shop across the street is great)! Walking distance to most of the central Madrid tourist attractions--I was able to walk to the royal palace, the main squares, the Prado Museum (a slightly longer walk, but I enjoy walking). Friendly, helpful staff. Check in and check out were ea... Read more

A gorgeous city centre hotel with small but very good rooms. The breakfast was awesome with all types of food and beverages. Staff was helpful and friendly. The location is ideal in the middle of a big boulevard and at just ten steps from the metro station. You have everything just around it: shops, banks, terraces, big bus station. I'll go back for sure.

Lovely Boutique hotel, spotless, spacious, friendly staff. Well located for all shops, sightseeing. Right in the middle of the buzz of this cosmopolitian city. My father and I stayed at TRYP Madrid Gran Vía Hotel from September 14th to September 18th 2015. The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel is placed in the bustling Gran Vía, so hotel guests can feel the vibrant life of Madrid Almost all major sights of Madrid can be reached on foot. Anyway, the metro station "Gran Vía" is next to the hotel. The hotel was completely refurbished in 2015. We were lucky to be the first guests in the refurbished room on the first floor (actually on the... Read more

I stayed at the TRYP gran via with my mom and sister for 5 days. We have been traveling in many cities in Europe and stayed in many hotels BUT this one was definitely in our TOP list. The stuff is super nice and helpful and speak very good English. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable. Breakfast is a buffet with large range of choices ( not so much if your into veggies like me..but that's just hotels in Europe) and the LOCATION is just perfect. We enjoyed every minute.

Tryp Gran Via is well located, just walking gets you to main tourist's places. Stops for the Bus Turistico are closed by. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great and we got an offer for only 8 euros per person.

The hotel is located in a very commercial street of Madrid, so it's location is very good. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and the rooms, even though they're not so big, they're very comfortable and clean.

This hotel is with very easy access to many attractions in Madrid. Metro is right at the door and plenty of restaurants close by. Lots of stores to shop. Breakfast was great, with everything that you can imagine to get your day started. Very helpful staff. Clean comfortable bed and good air conditioning. Good choice for the price.

The hotel location is good near the top end of Gran Via, which is extremely busy and noisy but the noise did not reach our street facing room: not enough to be of concern. There is no fidge in the room. The computer is accessible only by credit card but wifi access in rooms is good. The hotel including rooms and spaces has been recently renovated but the uniformly beige colour everywhere including the floors is absolutely boring: obviously the designer consultant has not been very Read more
